WORKSHOP ON COUNSELING TECHNIQUES AND APPLICATIONS   AT

Government Home Science College organized a workshop on Counseling Techniques and Applications. The guest speaker Dr. Shashi Sethi, Director, ISHH Guidance and Counseling Centre from Panchkula, gave a valuable insight on various areas related to counseling for students. She began the session with discussion on the importance of case history and analyzing behavior of a child for counseling process. She informed the students that sleep, mood and appetite are three main indicators for the mental health. A power point presentation was shared with the students to give a brief overview of the steps of counseling and qualities of a good counselor. She also interacted with students on various theories and tests used in counseling and discussed about the scope of the counselling for aspiring counselors. It was an enriching experience for both faculty and students to attend the counseling session by the honorable guest speaker. Principal Dr. Sudha Katyal appreciated the interactive session between the students and the resource person. She also motivated   the students to become efficient counselor by attending such informative workshops in future as well.
