सेक्टर 23 बाल भवन के प्रांगन में हो रहे थिएटर फॉर थिएटर द्वारा आयोजित 14th विंटर नेशनल थियेटर फेस्टिवल के 20 वें दिन का रूबरू कार्यक्रम चंडीगढ़ के संगीत प्रेमियों के लिए उस समय यादगार बन गया जब 1980 से बतौर संगीतकार पंजाबी इंडस्ट्री में काम कर रहे जाने माने संगीत दिग्गज अतुल शर्मा जी ने अपने जीवन के अनुभवों की लंबी फ़ेहरिस्त उनके सामने रखी और युवाओं के सामने अपने लगभग चार दशक के संगीत का सफ़र को साझा किया l उनके अनुभव साझा करने का माध्यम बने पंजाब के दिग्गज लेखक आतमजीत जी, जिनके लिखे हुए अनेकों नाटकों को अतुल जी ने संगीत से सजाया है l उनके मुताबिक किसी भी थिएटर निर्देशक के साथ साथ काम करते वक्त वह थिएटर को सर्वोपरि मान कर म्यूजिक देते हैं l उनके अनुसार म्यूजिक भी स्क्रिप्ट का एक हिस्सा ही होता है l शायद इसी सोच की वजह से वह कहानी के साथ संगीत को जोड़कर न्याय कर पाते हैं और यही वजह है कि वह रंगमंच में संगीत देते वक्त उससे मिलने वाली धनराशि की ओर ध्यान नहीं देते सिर्फ अपने आनंद के लिए करते हैं l बकौल अतुल शर्मा जी पहले के संगीतकार और गीतकार म्यूजिक की शुद्धता पर बहुत गौर करते थे परंतु आज इंडस्ट्री बहुत तेज भाग रही है युवा जल्दी कामयाबी के चक्कर में शुद्धता खोते जा रहे हैं इसलिए शायद संगीत का स्तर गिरा भी है l  युवाओं को सलाह देते हुए अतुल जी ने कहा की हमें हमेशा सीखने की भूख होनी चाहिए l

In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 06 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 06 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:-  PS-17= 2 cases, PS-ITP= 2 cases, PS-Mauli Jagran = 1 case, PS-34= 1 case. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law. One arrested for possessing illegal liquor Chandigarh Police arrested Ravinder @ dhola R/o # 304, NIC, Manimajra, Chandigarh from near Masjid, NIC, Manimajra, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 31 quarters of country made liquor on 16.02.2019. A case FIR No. 39, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-I.T Park, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress. Three arrested for murder A case FIR No. 65, U/S 147, 148, 149, 341, 323, 506, 308 added 302 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh on the complaint of Brijesh Kumar R/o # 231, Hari Complex, Village-Hallo Majra, Chandigarh who alleged that Chawanni, Rani Mukherji and 5-6 others beaten complainant, his brother Mithlesh and friend Dalip with iron rods at Pandit ki Dukan (spare parts shop), Village-Hallo Majra, Chandigarh on 15.02.2019. Complainant, his brother Mithlesh and friend Dalip got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh where Mithlesh expired during treatment. Later accused persons namely Arun Kumar @ Rani Mukherji R/o # 727, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh, Pankaj Kumar & Nitin Kumar @ Chawanni R/o # 219, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh have been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress. MV Theft Rinkesh Kumar O/o CISF Unit, Pb. & Hr. Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s discover Motor Cycle No.CH-01AQ-6270 from parking backside Pb. & Hr. Civil Secretariat, Sector-1, Chandigarh on 09-02-2019. A case FIR No. 50, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress. Sanjay Singh R/o # 1801, Village- Naya Gaon, Distt.-Mohali, Punjab reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s splendor motor cycle No. CH-01BB-8878 while parked near SCO No. 2901, Sector-22/C, Chandigarh on 12.02.2019. A case FIR No. 44, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress. Sunil Kumar R/o # 107, Jagatpura, Distt.-Mohali, Punjab reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s splendor motor cycle No. CH-01BN-7867 from Sector-31/32 light point, Chandigarh on 31.01.2019. A case FIR No. 66, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress. Abducted/missing  A lady resident of Sector-37, Chandigarh reported that complainant’s daughter aged about 17 years has been missing from Sector-38, Chandigarh since 15.02.2019. A case FIR No. 37, U/S 363 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress. Damage to property A case FIR No. 48, U/S 336, 427 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of Nitin Kumar R/o # 2585/A, Sector-39/C, Chandigarh who alleged that 03 unknown boys broken glasses of complainant’s car by pelting stones near furniture market chowk, Chandigarh on 15.02.2019. Investigation of the case is in progress.

सेक्टर 23 बाल भवन के प्रांगन में हो रहे थिएटर फॉर थिएटर द्वारा आयोजित 14th विंटर नेशनल थियेटर फेस्टिवल के 19 वें दिन का रूबरू कार्यक्रम चंडीगढ़ के कला प्रेमियों के लिए उस समय यादगार बन गया जब मुंबई से आई अनुभवी रंगकर्मी और थिएटर आर्टिस्ट श्रीमती कंचन गुप्ता जी ने अपने जीवन के अनुभवों की लंबी फ़ेहरिस्त उनके सामने रखी, “कोई भी किरदार छोटा या बड़ा नहीं होता, किरदार की लेंग्थ से नहीं बल्कि उस किरदार से प्यार करो, हर किरदार की कहानी में अपनी अहमियत होती है” स्टार भारत पर प्रसारित होने वाले टी वी सीरियल ‘क्या हाल मिस्टर पांचाल’ से घर घर में प्रसिद्ध हुई ‘कुंती’ यानि फाजिल्का की पंजाबी कुड़ी कंचन गुप्ता l शिमला में जन्मी और फाजिल्का में पली बड़ी कंचन जी एक अडॉपटीड चाइल्ड थी जिस के बावजूद उनके माता पिता जिन्होंने उन्हें अडॉप्ट किया था, उन्होंने उनके पालन – पोषण में कोई कमी नहीं आने दी. बतौर कंचन जी उनका फाजिल्का से चंडीगढ़ सिर्फ पढाई के लिए आना हुआ था l पढाई के बाद नौकरी के दौरान उनकी मुलाकात अपने जीवनसाथी से हुई जिन्होंने पति से ज्यादा एक दोस्त की भूमिका निभाते हुए उनका कदम कदम पर साथ दिया l कंचन जी के मुताबिक उनका एक्टिंग में आने का कोई इरादा नहीं था वो सिर्फ एक समाज सेवी बनना चाहती थी l अकसर नौकरी का बाद घर में वक़्त गुज़ारना मुश्किल था और बाकी समय बच्चों की परवरिश में निकल जाता था l अपने लिए रोज़ मर्रा की ज़िन्दगी में कुछ करना चाहती थी l इसी दौरान उनकी मुलाकात स्थानीय प्रोडक्शन मेनेजर रविंदर विर्क जी अपनी बहन के लिए एक मोडलिंग असाइनमेंट के दौरान हुई, जिन्होंने उन्हें उस दौरान के चर्चित सीरियल ‘कर्मावाली’ में एक छोटा सा किरदार करने के लिए प्रेरित किया. कर्मावाली के ही सेट पर उनकी मुलाकात दिग्गज अदाकारा अनीता शब्दिश जी से हुई, जिन्होंने उन्हें थिएटर से जुड़ने की सलाह दी l उनके रंगमंच की शुरुआत दिग्गज रंगकर्मी सुदेश शर्मा जी के साथ बलवंत गार्गी द्वारा लिखित नाटक ‘लोहा-कुट’ से हुई जहाँ पर उनका किरदार सिर्फ एक ‘हंसोड़’ का था और उन्हें उसमे भी उन्हें काफी दिक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ा पर सुदेश शर्मा जी ने उनका हौंसला डगमगाने नहीं दिया और जब उन्होंने अगले दिन सभी स्थानीय अख़बारों में अपनी तस्वीरें और किरदार की वाह वाही देखी तो उनका हौंसला सातवें आसमान पर था. बस फिर उन्होंने पीछे मुड़कर नहीं देखा और बहुर से सशक्त किरदार निभाकर अपने अभिनय का लोहा मनवाया. इसी बीच सुदेश शर्मा जी के कहने पर ही उन्होंने ‘फेदर कैप्स’ नामक कास्टिंग कंपनी शुरू की जो की शुरूआती दौर में ही ‘क्या हाल मिस्टर पंचाल’ की कास्टिंग कर रही थी और कास्टिंग डायरेक्टर स्वयं वो खुद और उनकी बेटी थी. देश भर में हज़ारों ऑडीशन किये गए परन्तु किरदार के मुताबिक चेहरा नहीं मिल पा रहा था तो धारावाहिक के निर्देशन ने कंचन जी को खुद ऑडीशन देने के लिए कहा जिसके बाद उन्होंने हिमानी शिवपुरी जैसे अनुभवी कलाकारों की पीछे छोड़ते हुए ‘कुंती’ का किरदार हासिल किया l

Presenting their views on the second day of the conference,organized by University Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism (UIHMT), PU under the aegis of 7th HOSTOCON (Hospitality andTourism Conference), speakers from across the country and abroad shared theirvision on issues related to medical tourism. The dignitaries for the event were Dr. Marina Ambrosecchio,President and founder UET Italia; Dr. B.K. Rana, Former Director NABH & Chairman, Accreditation Council and Dr. Anil Singh from BHU. Inher valedictory address, Dr. Marina described the significance of medicaltourism and discussed that India is equally competent to its western counterpartsas it offers low-cost treatment and competent quality of services. She said thatKitchens in homes of India are itself a pharmacy. The amalgamations of various herbs and spices served as potential healers for various diseases and ailments. She also said that channelizing medical tourism would help create employment and boots infrastructural facilities. Prof. Marina emphasized that India and Italy should work hand in hand for expanding their niche medical tourism and to tap its full potential. She discussed how Italy and India are similar in respect to medical tourism, however, lack of proper infrastructural facilities and marketing have somehow lead to the limited growth in medical tourists influx. Dr. B.K. Rana in his address spoke about the certification and standards of health services in India. He presented an overview of Global Quality standards. During his speech he told that medical tourists come to India for dental, cosmetic, cardiovascular and neurological treatments. He suggested that tourism sector should work closely with the industry chambers, students should be trained with an additional language, there should be a joint platform of information and communication also the services of Ayurveda homeopathy and naturopathy should be expanded andpanchkarma should be highlighted.  Dr.Anil Singh described the model for ideal medical tourism and suggested ways for expansion of the same. Dr.PrashantGautam, Director UIHTM, presented the seminar report. He concluded that the event enhanced the awareness on the aspects that go into improving availability of health facilities. It provided a considerable scientific contribution in the domain of medical tourism for tourism destination competitiveness. The conference discussed acute technology issues and business challenges faced by both tourism as well as the healthcare sector. Moreover, this will provide an opportunity to interact with leaders of the medical tourism industry, both from local and global partnerships. The conference acted as be a platform for hospitals, medical tourism facilitators, insurance companies, academicians, hospitality industry, healthcare investors and pharmacy companies. Dr.Arun Singh presented vote of thanks.
