यूटी एवं एम.सी चंडीगढ़ के छह प्रमुख कर्मचारी फैडरेशन  व संगठनो ने कर्मचारियों की प्रमुख मांगों पर संयुक्त रूप से चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन को मांग पत्र सौंपा था व कर्मचारियों की समस्याओं के हल के लिए मीटिंग की मांग भी की थी। चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन ने  गौर न करते हुए संयुक्त कर्मचारी मोर्चा की इन मांगों पर अभी तक कोई संज्ञान नहीं लिया। प्रशासन द्वारा मांगों की अनसुनी व चंडीगढ़ के कर्मचारियों में बढ़ते रोष को देखते हुए 10 अगस्त को शिवालिक व्यू ग्राउंड सैक्टर 17 में सामने सुबह 10 से दोपहर 2 बजे तक धरना-प्रदर्शन व रोष मार्च किया गया। संयुक्त कर्मचारी मोर्चा के वर्किंग कमेटी के कनवीनरस श्री गोपाल दत्त जोशी,सुखबीर सिंह,राजिंदर कुमार, अश्विनी कुमार, बलविंदर सिंह,बिपिन शेर सिंह के अलावा स्टेट एक्सिक्यूटिव मेंबर्स धर्मेंद्र राही, रणबीर राणा, राजिंदर कटोच,राजा राम,सुरमुख सिंह, रंजीत मिश्रा,दबकेश कुमार,रघबीर चंद, सुखप्रीत सिंह,अशोक कुमार व जनार्दन यादव इत्यादि  की अगुवाई में मंगलवार को संयुक्त कर्मचारी मोर्चा से जुड़ी चंडीगढ़ के विभिन्न विभागों के लीडरशिप व फैडरेशन ने इस रोष मार्च व धरना-प्रदर्शन में भाग लिया। संयुक्त कर्मचारी मोर्चा से जुड़े सीनियर व रिटायर लीडरशिप भी उपस्थित रहीं। संयुक्त मांगों में चंडीगढ़ व म्युनिसिपल कारपोरेशन में अनुबंधित कर्मचारियों के नियमितीकरण पालिसी और आऊटसोर्सिंग वर्कर्स के लिए समान काम समान ,आउटसोर्सिंग कर्मचारियों की सभी श्रेणियों के लिए जेम पोर्टल में मौजूदा श्रमिकों को न निकालना,डेली वेज वर्कर्स को रेगुलर करना व 1996 के बाद भर्ती हुए डेली वेज वर्कर्स को 13.3.15 को बनी पालिसी में कवर करना,बिजली,स्वास्थ्य,परिवहन जैसे सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के निजीकरण पर रोक लगाना,मृतक कर्मचारियों के  परिजनों को पंजाब पैटर्न पर 5% सीलिंग खत्म करके नौकरी,पुरानी पेंशन बहाल करना,खाली पदों को भरने, डीए और डीसी की दरों में वृद्धि, घरों के आवास के सफल उम्मीदवारों को आवास के आवंटन,भारत सरकार की अधिसूचना 13.1.92 के अनुसार पंजाब राज्य के सभी सर्विस रूल व कंडीशनें लागू करना , हाउसिंग बोर्ड कर्मचारियों को पैंशन,एम.सी से रिटायर्ड कर्मचारियों को चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन द्वारा पैंशन, रैगुलर भर्तियों में वन विभाग में कांट्रैक्ट पर कार्यरत पूर्व सैनिक फारेस्टर व फारेस्ट गार्ड की नौकरी की सुरक्षा, स्कूलों में कार्यरत चौकीदारों की 8 घंटे की ड्यूटी करना,एम.सी से बर्खास्त आउटसोर्स ड्राइवर की नौकरी बहाल करना,शिक्षा विभाग में डीसी रेट इम्प्लाइज को जेम पोर्टल में स्थानांतरण न करना, पालिसी बनने तक रैगुलर भर्तियों के विज्ञापन में पहले से कांट्रैक्ट पर कार्यरत इम्प्लाइज को छूट इत्यादि शामिल हैं। संयुक्त कर्मचारी मोर्चा,यू.टी एवं एम.सी चंडीगढ़ ने रोष मार्च करने के लिए गवर्नर हाउस कूच करने की कोशिश की जिसको पुलिस द्वारा बैरिकेड लगाकर रोकने की कोशिश की गई ।। भारी मात्रा में कर्मचारियों द्वारा जोरदार प्रदर्शन किया गया। संयुक्त कर्मचारी मोर्चा ने अपना मांगपत्र एस डी एम सेंट्रल को सौंपाl संयुक्त कर्मचारी मोर्चा ने कर्मचारियों की इन संयुक्त मांगों के लिए प्रशासन द्वारा जल्द न सुलझाने पर चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन व एम.सी अथारिटी के दरवाजे पर संघर्ष व धरने प्रदर्शन को और तेज करने की चेतावनी भी दी ।

AMBIENT AIR QUALITY MONITORING STATION AT CHANDIGARH

Chandigarh Administration is making continuous efforts in monitoring the air quality of the city. As a step forward, ‘Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station (CAAQMS)’ installed at Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Sector-22, Chandigarh has been inaugurated by Sh.Dharam Pal, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, UT Chandigarh in the presence of Sh.Arun Kumar Gupta, IAS, Principal Secretary Environment-cum-Chairman, CPCC, UT Chandigarh and Sh.Debendra Dalai, IFS, Special Secretary Environment & Member Secretary, CPCC, Chandigarh. The CAAQMS has been installed by Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee (CPCC) to monitor various parameters of ambient air quality on real time basis. The Chief Guest appreciated the efforts made by CPCC in stationing the CAAQMS for the people of the city. Through this system, large Number of parameters can be monitored simultaneously i.e. PM₁₀, PM_2.5, CO, SO₂, NO_X, NH₃, O_3, Benzene, Xylene, Toluene. This instrument also monitors meteorological parameters like temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind speed, wind direction and solar radiation. Further, this system automatically calculates AQI (Air Quality Index) on the basis of various parameters which will be reflected in display board which is very easy for common man to understand the quality of air. The function was attended by Dr.Abdul Qayum, IFS, DCF, Sh.Rajiv Tewari, Director Public Relations, UT Chandigarh, School Principal and other officials from the Administration.

COMPETITION ON THE THEME “SAY NO TO DRUGS”

Centre for Human Rights and Duties, Panjab University, Chandigarh and University Institute of Fashion Technology & Vocational Development organized an online poster making and slogan writing competition on the theme “Say No to Drugs” on July 30, 2021. The students from various colleges of Panjab as well as students of Panjab University participated in the event enthusiastically. The students were instructed that the poster/slogan must be handmade along with stepwise pictures to ensure originality of the work. The result of the competition was announced on August 10, 2021. The first prize in the poster making was bagged by Ms Gaurika, Department of Education, Panjab University. Second prize was won by Ms Tanya from MCM DAV College and third prize was shared by Ms Yukta from UIFT&VD and Ms Chetanpreet Kaur. In slogan writing competition, the first prize was won by Ms Ramanjot Kaur, second prize by Ms Tara Sehgal and third prize was shared by Ms Kriti Bhardwaj, IETVE and Ms Manshita Goyal. The organizers of the event Dr Namita Gupta, Chairperson, Centre for Human Rights and Duties and Dr Anu H. Gupta, Chairperson UIFT& VD stated that the event was organized to instil a value amongst students and to motivate them to say no to drugs. They further stated that they will organize more such competitions/events in the months to come.

6 days training course on “ Tactical Driving” conducted by experts of NSG Manesar for drivers and PSOs of Chandigarh Police at RTC, Police Line, Sector 26 was concluded today. Sh. Omvir Bishnoi, DIG UT was the chief guest of closing ceremony and it was attended by Ms Manisha Choudhary, SSP Traffic & Security, Sh. Manoj, SP HQ, Sh Udaipal DSP Security, Smt Sita Devi, DSP Training and other officials. The training focused on theoretical and practical aspects of safe movement of VIPs and their safe exit in any untoward situation. Certificate of Appreciation and Mementos were handed over to NSG team as a token of thanks for accepting the request of Chandigarh Police to conduct such course. Certificate of participation was given to all the participants. SSP Security said that in view of dynamic security challenges posed to VIP in today’s time, their target is get all the drivers and PSOs of Chandigarh Police trained in such courses to enable them to respond better in any unexpected situation.

Drug Disposal Committee constituted by W/Director General of Police, U.T, Chandigarh comprising of Sh. Manoj Kumar Meena, IPS, SP/ Crime & HQ as Chairman, Ms. Neena Kakkar, Superintendent, NCB, Chandigarh & Sh. Udaypal Singh, CPS, DSP Crime as members of Drug Disposal Committee has disposed of the contraband drugs of 102 cases of 05 police stations in which Charas, Heroin, Cocaine, Poppy Husk, Ganja, Smack, Tablets, Injections were seized. Today, seized drugs of Police Stations i.e., Police Station, Sector-03, 19, 26, 39 & IT Park of Chandigarh were disposed of as these were found fit for disposal by Drug Disposal Committee after scrutinizing of all details. The drugs were disposed of at M/s Punjab Chemicals, & Crop Protection Limited, Derabassi, Mohali, Punjab through incinerator installed in the company. The mandatory drug disposal process requirements were complied with by the committee. The quantity of drugs disposed in 102 NDPS Act cases is as under:-

Department of Chemistry, Panjab University Chandigarh celebrated “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” today, to commemorate 75 years of India’s independence under the dynamic leadership of Honorable Vice-Chancellor and able guidance of Prof K. N. Singh (Chairperson). Prof. V. Chandrasekhar, Distinguished Professor and Centre Director, TIFR Hyderabad (Chief Guest) delivered a lecture on “From PC Ray to the present-Development of Chemistry in modern India”. He presented glimpses of the life of Dr. P. C. Ray and contribution of modern scientific community of India in the 75 years of progress in chemical sciences. The event was coordinated by Dr. Navneet Kaur (Associate Professor) and Dr. Varinder Kaur (Assistant Professor), and the event was presided by Prof V. R. Sinha, Dean University Instructions, Panjab University, and Chandigarh. The students of the department participated in an e-poster competition organized by Chemical Society of the department to showcase the progress of chemistry in 75 years and the winners were awarded with prizes.
