PLANTATION DRIVE AT PU GH-9 AND 10

Plantation drive was organized jointly by Girls Hostel No. 9 and
10 of Panjab University, Chandigarh by Dr. Shipra Gupta (Warden GH-9), Dr.
Varinder Kaur (Warden, GH-10). Ms Samrita Gill, Joint Commissioner,
Central Goods and Service Taxes, Delhi Zone (Chief Guest), Ms Jyotinder Kaur
Bajwa, IRS (IT) (Guest of Honour), Prof Devinder Singh, Secretary to the
Vice-Chancellor (Guest of Honour) and Prof. Sanjay Kaushik (Dean of College
Development Council) graced the occassion and appreciated the green cover
maintained in both the hostels in specific and in the campus of the Panjab
University in general. Prof. S. K. Tomar (Dean Student Welfare), Prof
Meena Sharma (Dean Student Welfare-Women), Prof. Ashok Kumar (Associate-DSW),
Mr. R. K. Rai (Executive Engineer), officials from the construction office and
horticulture wing, the wardens of the Panjab University hostels along with the
invited guests, staff and students planted saplings in the premises of the
hostels. Some floral paintings made by hostel residents in a hands-on
painting workshop conducted by GH-9, GH-10 and International hostel were also
showcased in the event. The guests were felicitated with the paintings made in
the workshop as a token of gift.
