    In pursuance of the order dated: 14.12.2016 issued by Hon’ble National Green Tribunal, Principal Bench, New Delhi, it has been made to appear to Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, District Magistrate,U.T., Chandigarh that a large number of people  flying the kites, use synthetic/nylon-glass coated thread popularly known as Pakka thread/Dori and Chinese Maanjha/Dori. The Maanjhas/Doris, being made of synthetic material are non-biodegradable and thus cause serious injuries to human beings, birds and are equally disadvantageous & harmful to the wildlife-environment. In some cases, it had also caused death of humans and birds.
And therefore, Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, I.A.S., District Magistrate, Chandigarh, is of the opinion that use of above said synthetic/nylon-glass coated thread popularly known as Paka thread/Dori and Chinese Maanjha/Dori needs to be regulated in the larger public interest and immediate necessary action is necessary to be taken to prevent serious injury or death to human beings & birds along with harm to wildlife & environment, due to above said Pakka thread/Dori and Chinese Maanjha/Dori.
Now therefore, Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, I.A.S., District Magistrate, Chandigarh, in exercise of the power vested with him u/s 144 of Cr. P.C., as a measure of emergency and to prevent serious injury of death to human beings & birds and to prevent harm to wildlife & environment, do hereby order that procuring, stocking, sale and use of synthetic/nylon-glass coated thread popularly known as Pakka thread /Dori  and Chinese Maanjha/Dori along with other threads coated with glass and /or such other harmful substances for kite flying, within the jurisdiction of U.T. of Chandigarh, for a period of 60 days.
This order shall come into force from zero hours on 05.07.2018 and shall be effective for a period of sixty days up to and including 02.09.;2018.

पंजाब हरियाणा हाई कोर्ट में जस्टिस राजवीर शेरावत के न्यायालय में कुत्तों के द्वारा नोच-नोच कर आयुष को मार डालने वाले केस नंबर CRM-M 26691 / 2018 की सुनवाई हुई | पिटीशनर आयुष की मां ममता की तरफ से एडवोकेट ए.पी.एस. शेरगिल ने पेश की | हाई कोर्ट के नोटिस के बाद  भी आज सभी 11 अधिकारियो के लोग बिना जवाब प्रति के हाजिर हुए थे | चंडीगढ़ एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन के तरफ से एडवोकेट सुकांत गुप्ता ने केस को बंद करवाने की पैरवी की | जिस पर ए.पी.एस. शेरगिल ने न्यायालय से बिना नाम के FIR दर्ज होने पर सेक्शन 154 CRPC का जिक्र किया | गुनाहगारों को बचाने के लिए चंडीगढ़ पुलिस ने बिना नाम डाले FIR दर्ज किया है | शिकायत में नगर निगम अधिकारी संबंधित अधिकारी मेयर पर शिकायत है | जिसे बचाने पर चंडीगढ़ U.T प्रशासन लगी है | सुकांत गुप्ता के झूठ सफाई पर एडवोकेट ए.पी.एस. शेरगिल ने जस्टिस से कहा कि क्या गरीब को न्याय नहीं मिलेगा | जस्टिस शेरावत ने मामले के 11 लोगों को 2 अगस्त 2018 तक जवाब दाखिल करने का समय दिया है | “चंडीगढ़ की आवाजअविनाश सिंह शर्मा एवं कमल किशोर शर्मा ने कहा कि आयुष की मां ममता को इंसाफ दिलाने के लिए सुप्रीम कोर्ट दिल्ली तक भी जाना होगा तो हम लोग जाएंगे और दोषियों को सजा दिलवा कर ही सांस लेंगे | साथ ही उन्होंने कहा कि आयुष के इंसाफ के लिए हम साथ हैं आगे जब तक इंसाफ नहीं मिलेगा संघर्ष जारी रखेंगे । आज न्यायालय में इंसाफ के लिए आयुष के माँ ममता और दादा फकीर सुबह से लेकर शाम तक इंसाफ के लिए बैठे रहे | जो इंसाफ के लिए टकटकी लगाकर न्यायालय को देख रहे है |

   As a part of the Government launched scheme ‘Swachh Bharat Summer Internship Camp 2018’ the effervescent team of NSS of Government Home Science College, along with Health Department, U.T. made an effort to work diligently for rural sanitation in the adopted village Khuda Ali Sher.
    About 50 volunteers divided themselves into sub groups on the 5th day of the camp and went into the streets, lanes and by lanes of the adopted village Khuda Ali Sher and organized a cleanliness drive. Volunteers cleaned the village roads, removed dust heaps and cleared the stagnant drainage flows and attempted to create awareness on cleanliness and hygiene. The NSS Coordinators Ms. Seema Jaitly and Dr. Neha Sharma supervised the students’ task of cleaning the village and further interacted with a number of local people to know about their opinion regarding cleanliness and suggested various measures of improvement in their day to day life. The students were also guided by the four active teams of Health Department, U.T. During the drive, the teams checked coolers, open spaces and overhead tanks for any larval breeding. I.E.C. material was also distributed to the residents throughout the camp.
    Prof. Sudha Katyal, Principal of the college emphasized upon the importance of such programmes that provide a great learning experience to students and appreciated the efforts made by the students.

The first day of International workshop, under the aegis of CRIKC, in association with Stanford University, USA started quite ceremoniously today at Panjab University, on the theme “Transitional research on life sciences”.
     Complementing the organizers for their meticulous and superlative efforts, Professor Arun K Grover, in his presidential remarks, delivered a brief note on the genesis of CRIKC program, and motivated the young participants to follow the foot prints of the legends and to march ahead for higher echelons in their research objectives for inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research activities at national and international level. Subsequently, Prof. S.K. Mehta, Director SAIF/CIL, PU, highlighted the major objectives of the CRIKC program. The idea of this conference was conceived, during GIAN course conducted by Prof. S. V. Malhotra during October 2018 at PU, with the aim that industry-academia may be created with his support Dr. Rupinder Tewari, Coordinator DST-CPR familiarized the audience with the credentials of the principal resource person and highlighted the major objectives of the course.  Prof. Sanjay Malhotra from Stanford University, USA elaborated upon the fact that the basic aim of this conference is to make us understand Translational research in life sciences. In the morning session, the inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Anil Koul (Director, CSIR IMTECH, Chandigarh) as the Guest of Honour. In his inaugural talk, he deliberated on the various infectious diseases such as Hepatitis C, B, HIV with special mention of RSV (Respiratory Synctial Virus). The slogan of his lecture was Drug discovery is like finding needle in heap of waste. His main points for discussion were on the absence of clinical research in INDIA. He strengthens the audience by encouraging them to contribute, Get involved and be evolved.
     After the inauguration, Prof. Parveen Rishi highlighted the translational research activities at Panjab University followed by short presentations by Dr. Sanjay Bhadada (PGIMER, Chandigarh), Prof. P. Guptasarma (IISER Mohali), Prof. Saranjeet Singh (NIPER Mohali) and Dr. H. K. Sardana (CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh) who presented the glimpse of translational research at their respective institutes. This tailored international conference would help CRIKCs to comprehend the important applications of translational research.
