Kaya Kalp Award
function was organized at State Institute of Health & Family Welfare,
Government Multispecialty Hospital, Sector 16 under the leadership of Dr. G. Dewan, Director Health & Family Welfare cum
Mission Director - National Health Mission today. During the event,
Director Health & Family Welfare motivated the safai karamcharis for
taking active part in the uplifting and maintenance of health facilities in
implementation of Bio- medical waste in commitment to Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan
and awards were given to the 25 safai karamcharis of GMSH Sector 16, Civil
Hospital Sector 22, 45, Manimajra and allied dispensaries and Carrying
forward the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister
on 2nd October, 2014, that focuses on promoting cleanliness in public space,s
the Health Department Chandigarh has been taking forward these initiatives for
improving hygiene in hospitals which is critical for preventing infections and
also provide patients with the positive experience and encourage moulding
behavior related to clean environment. As the first principle of healthcare is
"to do no harm" it is essential to have our health care facilities
clean and to ensure adherence to infection control practices.
