Sub Divisional Magistrate Inspect surprise anti plastic, epidemic raid

Under the supervision of Sh. Arjun Sharma, IAS, Sub Divisional Magistrate (East), U.T, Chandigarh a team of Sanitary Inspectors has conducted a surprise anti plastic, epidemic raid in the Indl. Area, Ph-I ( Elante Mall), Chandigarh and issued 23 challans of Rs 5000/- to the defaulters and seized 1.5 quintal polythene bags/plastic allied items.

Ø  Elante, in association with Chandigarh administration, distribute 1,000 saplings and cloth bags among visitors to the mall

   Spreading the message of conservation, Elante, the environmentally conscious mall, today hosted the World Environment Day celebrations under the aegis of the Chandigarh administration, where city schools with the Best Eco Club were conferred special awards and students from various schools all over Chandigarh participated in a poster making contest, a play competition on the theme of “polythene bag-free Chandigarh” and a Green Quiz. 

Mr TC Nautiyal, Conservator of Forests, UT and Member Secretary, Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, presented the Best Eco Club Awards to five schools, including 

1st Prize – Eco Club of St Joseph’s Sr sec School Sector 44-D

2nd Prize – Eco Club of Gurukul Global School, Manimajra Chandigarh

3rd Prize- Eco Club of Govt Model Ser Sec Scholl Sector 33 D Chandigarh 

The event began with a poster making contest, where students at their creative best came up with thought-provoking posters highlighting the pressing need to protect the environment. In an effort to inculcate a sense of responsibility among visitors about matters of environmental concern, Elante, in association with the Chandigarh administration, distributed about 1,000 saplings and cloth bags among them. 

A short film on Green Chandigarh and Solar Chandigarh and a slide show on birds and butterflies of the city were also screened on the occasion. Commenting on the initiative, Mr Anil Malhotra, Executive Director, Elante Mall, said, “This is for the first time that Elante has partnered with the Chandigarh administration for the World Environment Day celebrations. As an environmentally conscious mall, we at Elante have always been at the forefront when it comes to promoting sustainable and healthy living. We thank the Chandigarh administration for giving us this opportunity.”

श्री दुर्गा मंदिर धर्म प्रचार एवं मंदिर निर्माण सभा सेक्टर 41 ए, चण्डीगढ़ में श्री सिद्ध बाबा बालक नाथ के जन्मदिवस पर नौ दिवसीय 12वां विशाल धार्मिक समारोह मनाया जा रहा है । जिसमें रोजाना सायं 6 बजे से रात 9 बजे तक विभिन्न गायकों की ओर से बाबा का गुणगान किया जाता है। कार्यक्रम से पूर्व बाबा की आरती भी की जाती है । आज की आरती में हिमाचल प्रदेश सुजानपुर विधानसभा क्षेत्र से विधायक राजेंद्र राणा ने भाग लिया। उन्होंने यहाँ बाबा के चरणों में माथा टेका व पूजा-अर्चना भी की। उनके साथ मंदिर के प्रधान एचएल छाबड़ा, महासचिव मनोहर लाल व अन्य पदाधिकारी भी मौजूद थे। ये समारोह 10  जून तक चलेगा।
