The Festival Secretariat of the
10th Panjab University Rose Festival to be held from 8th-10th February, 2019 was inaugurated here today
by Prof. Karamjeet Singh, Registrar, PU. Poster of the Festival was
also unveiled by the Registrar.The Registrar also had hands on experience of
the working of the website of the festival 'www.panjabuniversityrosefestival.in'.
The Registrar appreciated the website of the Rose Festival particularly; the
online registration for competitions and efforts of the Organising Committee.
The inauguration was attended by Er. R.K. Rai, Executive Engineer-I, Sh.
Jatinder Moudgil, Manager Press, Dr. (Mrs.) Navdeep Sharma, Co-ordinator NSS,
Dr. D. Dhawan, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Bharat, Warden, Boys Hostel no. 4,
Sh. Deepak Kaushik, President PUNTEF and other members of Organising Committee
of the Rose Festival, teaching and non-teaching staff, students and general
public. With the inauguration of the 10th Panjab University Rose
Festival Secretariat, the sale of the forms for participating in various
competitions has started at the festival secretariat and also on the website 'www.panjabuniversityrosefestival.in'.
The cost of forms will be Rs. 300 per participant per competition for Singing,
Dancing, Fashion & Rose Prince & Princess and Rs. 100 for other
competitions. The cost of forms for Flower Competition will be Rs. 50/- per participant
per entry. Participation in Band
Competition for schools and Painting Competition for Specially abled will be
free of cost. Er. Anil Thakur, Divisional Engineer (H)-cum-Organiser of the
Panjab University Rose Festival said that the Entries for Photography will be accepted upto
5:00 p.m. on 05.02.2019. Entries for flower
competition will be accepted upto
5:00 p.m. on 07.02.2019 at Rose Festival Secretariat and on 08.02.2019 till
10:00 a.m. at Prof. R.C. Paul Rose Garden, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Entries for all other competitions
will be accepted upto 06.02.2019 till
5:00 p.m.. Schedule of the festival and terms and conditions pertaining to
participation in various competitions are available at the Festival Secretariat
and at the aforesaid website. Forms can be submitted at the Festival
Secretariat up to 5 pm on all days including holidays.The 10th Panjab University Rose Festival will be a three days event. The festival will be inaugurated on 8th February, 2019 by Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, and Panjab University. The
festival will have Judgments of Flower and Photography Competition and
Competition of Bands of schools on first day. The first day of the event will have
Fashion Competition and Performance by Classical Band in the evening. The
theme of the
Photography Competition will be Life at Panjab University or P.U.
Gardens/Landscape of P.U. Campus. The winning entries of
photography competition will be displayed at the time of inauguration of the
festival on 08.02.2019. On second day i.e. 9th February, 2019, competitions of Singing, Rangoli, Collage Making, and Face
Painting & Slogan Writing for school, College and University Students as
well as general public will be held. The second
day of the event will feature Laughter Show in the evening. On
third day i.e. 10th February, 2019, competitions of Poetic
Recitation, Rose Prince/Princess, Dancing, Mahanadi, Painting, Fancy-dress will
be held. A Star Night will take place on third day of the festival in the
evening. Space will be provided to
sponsors to showcase their products and services which will get vast publicity
due to huge gatherings expected at the festival like previous years. For
entertainment of small children, amusement park and gaming zones will be set
up. For
