विश्वास फाऊंडेशन व एच.डी.एफ.सी बैंक ने परम पूज्य गुरुदेव श्री स्वामी विश्वास जी के आशीर्वाद से वीरवार को यहां मनीमाजरा की  मोटर मार्किट में रक्तदान कैंप लगाया। यह कैंप एच.डी.एफ.सी बैंक के सहयोग से लगाया गया। कैंप का संचालन ब्लड बैंक पी.जी.आई चण्डीगढ़ से डा. सौगत चौधरी व उनकी टीम ने किया। कैंप में 164रक्तदानियों ने भाग लिया जिसमें से 127 रक्तदानियों ने रक्तदान करने का पुण्य कमाया । इस कैंप का उदघाटन विश्वास फाउंडेशन की जनरल सेक्रेटरी साध्वी नीलिमा विश्वास व संस्था के सदस्य, एच.डी.एफ.सी बैंक से नीतिन शर्मा व नीरज भाटिया मनीमाजरा मोटर मार्किट से श्री मुकेश छाबड़ा राम कुमार गर्ग अजय गाबा हेम चंद नेम चंद ने दीप जलाकर कैंप की शुरूआत की । कैंप सुबह 10 बजे शुरू हुआ यह कैंप दोपहर 4 बजे तक चला। सभी ब्लड डोनर्स के लिए डाक्टरों द्वारा रिकमेंड रिफ्रेशमेंट का इंतजाम किया गया। सभी रक्तदानियों को उपहार के रूप में सर्टिफिकेट कंटेनर व बैज देकर सम्मानित किया गया और इस कैंप में 1000 लोगों को कढ़ी चावल व हल्वे का लंगर भी बांटा गया ।

  चण्डीगढ़ नगर निगम द्वारा प्रतिवर्ष आयोजित होने वाले रोज फेस्टिवल में कई वर्षों से देश के अलग-अलग क्षेत्रों के सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत किये जातें हैं जिनमें पंजाबी, हरियाणवी, राजस्थानी व उत्तरांचल की संस्कृति से जुड़े कार्यक्रम शामिल हैं । इस सम्बन्ध में पार्षद चंद्रावती शुक्ला ने गत रोज निगम के सदन में वर्ष 2019 में होने वाले रोज फेस्टिवल में पूर्वांचल की संस्कृति से जुड़े कार्यक्रम भी शामिल करने की मांग की है। इस मुद्दे पर पूर्वांचल विकास महासंघ के चेयरमैन शशिशंकर तिवारी ने श्रीमती शुक्ला को ये मांग उठाने के लिए धन्यवाद करते हुए इस मांग को समर्थन किया व कहा कि नगर निगम पूर्वांचलवासियों की भावनाओं को सम्मान करते हुए भोजपुरी कलाकारों को बुलाकर सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम आयोजित करे। उन्होंने कहा कि वे स्वयं भी निगम अधिकारियों से मिलकर इस मसले को जोरदार ढंग से उठाएंगे। तिवारी ने कहा कि अधिकारियों को याद रखना चाहिए कि चंडीगढ़ में 40% आबादी पूर्वांचल की है इसलिए ये सौतेला व्यवहार बंद होना चाहिए ।

युवा कांग्रेस, चण्डीगढ़ ने प्रदूषणमुक्त दिवाली मनाने के लिए आज से जागरूकता अभियान की शुरुआत की। इस मौके पर युवा कांग्रेस के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष बिंदु ठाकुर ने पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री पवन बंसल को जामुन और आम का पौधा सौंप कर अभियान का शुभारम्भ किया। अभियान को आगे बढ़ाते हुए युवा नेता सुनील यादव व विनायक बंगिया द्वारा डीएसपी साउथ निहारिका भट्ट, एसएचओ-31 गुरजीत कौर, पीजीआई पुलिस पोस्ट इंचार्ज इंस्पेक्टर इरम रिज़वी को विभिन प्रकार के फलदार पेड़ो के पौधे सौपे गए । सुनील यादव के अनुसार आने वाले दिनों में इस अभियान को सामाजिक लोगो के सहयोग से और तेज किया जाएगा। इस मौके पर अभियान संयोजक पूजा सहोता ने कहा कि दीपावली  भारत में मनाया जाने वाला सबसे लोकप्रिय और सबसे बड़ा त्यौहार है। इस त्यौहार में सभी अपने रिश्तेदारों और दोस्तों को गिफ्ट देते हैं। इसलिए ऐसे गिफ्ट देने चाहिए जिनको व्यक्ति जीवन भर याद रखें, और वह उनके हमेशा काम आए। इसी सिलसिले में युवा कांग्रेस ने पौधे गिफ्ट करने का अभियान छेड़ा है क्योंकि पेड़-पौधों से जीवन की अमूल्य जरूरत ऑक्सीजन मिलती है और इनके बड़े होने पर आने वाली पीढ़ियों को स्वच्छ वातावरण मिलेगा। इस मौके पर जानू मलिक, सौरभ ढिल्लो, अनंत चौधरी, विशाल, आशु चौधरी, आरती, आशीष सिंह व दलजीत  आदि पदाधिकारी मौजूद रहे ।

  Under the activities of “Vigilance Awareness Week-2018”, the Chandigarh Housing Board today organized a lecture by Sh.M. K. Puri, Addl. S.P. Central Bureau of Investigation, Chandigarh.  Sh.Puri informed about the working of CBI and areas under its jurisdiction. He  explained  the difference between bona-fide and mala fide conduct in official work.  Sh. Puri further explained the reasons behind the corruption and conduct which comes under corruption.  He also gave replies to various queries of officials.  The lecture was chaired by Ms. Ruchi Singh, HCS Secretary, CHB and all the officers of Engineering Wing and Estate Branch participated in the said lecture.

The National Crafts Mela will make a comeback with its 10th edition from 9th November to 18th November 2018 at Kalagram, Chandigarh. The Mela, a joint venture of Chandigarh Administration and North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC) will be inaugurated by Sh. V.P Singh Badnore, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh. National Crafts Mela is the unique event that showcases the diversity of handicrafts, handlooms and cultural fabric of our country. To add the musical and rhythmic element to the event, this event brings together the large number of renowned national folk artists and cultural groups. 170 numbers of Stalls have been constructed at the site to display spectacular work of artisan and craftsmen of Chandigarh and other states. The main attraction of the event will be the stall dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi to mark the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation. The stall will showcase some of the rare pictures of Mahatma Gandhi's life, freedom struggle, and other aspects of his remarkable journey. “ On the 150th Birth Anniversary of Gandhi Ji, Chandigarh Administration would like to give a special tribute to the Iconic leader with this special demonstration. The relevance of Mahatma Gandhi values is very strong, and this stall is the reflection of his values and major events of his life that has and will always influence our lives”, said Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, Director Cultural Affairs, Chandigarh Administration Cultural evenings have always been the most entertaining and attractive part of the event. The fair has grown in stature and has got on board some acclaimed artists and bands for the cultural performances. Renowned celebrities of the Punjabi industry like Hans Raj Hans, Satinder Sartaj, Jazzy B, Lakhwinder Wadali will be spreading the musical magic with their performances. Sh. यू टी क्रिकेट एसोसिएशन द्वारा 2 दिवसीय अंडर 19 राउंड रोबिन लीग क्रिकेट टूर्नामेंट का फाइनल मुकाबला साउथ और वेस्ट जोन की टीम के बीच हुआ | इस टूर्नामेंट में वेस्ट जोन ने बाजी मारी और साउथ जोन को हरा कर लीग अपने नाम की | फाइनल मैच पर हुए आयोजन के बारे में एसोसिएशन के महासचिव सुभाष महाजन ने बताया कि एसोसिएशन के अध्यक्ष संजय टंडन ने आज के समारोह में मुख्यातिथि के तौर पर इसमें भाग लिया जबकि स्टेट बैंक ऑफ़ इंडिया के चीफ जनरल मेनेजर आशुतोष कुमार सिंह ने विशेष अतिथि के रूप में इस कार्यक्रम में भाग लिया | मैच दोनों टीम के बीच कांटे की टक्कर का रहा | दोनों ही टीमों के खिलाडी अपनी अपनी टीम की जीत केलिएकाफी प्रयास करते नज़र आये | मैचके अंतिम दौर पर जाने तक मैच का रोमाच बना रहा | उपस्थित सभी दर्शकों ने भी काफी उत्सुकता पूर्वक मैच का आनंद लिया | उधर दोनों ही टीमों के समर्थकों का जोश देखते ही बनता था | अंत में बाजी वेस्ट जोन ने मारी और साउथ ज़ोन को हरा कर टूर्नामेंट की ट्राफी अपने नाम की जबकि साउथ जोन की टीम दूसरे स्थान पर रही |

पूर्वांचल विकास महासंघ ट्राइसिटी, चंडीगढ़ के अध्यक्ष व  चंडीगढ़ कॉंग्रेस कमेटी के प्रदेश महासचिव शशिशंकर तिवारी ने कहा है कि जब-जब हिन्दुओ के त्यौहार आते हैं तब-तब ही चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन  एवं स्कूलों-कॉलेजों एवं विभिन्न संस्थाओ को याद आने लगता है कि दिवाली मे पटाखा चलाने से प्रदूषण बढ़ता है। ये सब लोग दिवाली खत्म होने के तुरंत बाद यह भूल जाते हैं कि चंडीगढ़ के अन्दर कई सारी ऐसी फेक्टरी एवं कई सरकारी गाड़ियां, प्राइवेट गाड़ियां, सी.टी.यू  की बस एवं अन्य कितने विभाग है जिनके कारण रोज़ ही प्रदूषण फैेलता है एवं वातावरण खराब हो रहा है। इन लोगों को उसकी चिंता नही रहती । तिवारी ने कहा कि हिन्दू धर्म के अलावा अन्य धर्मों के त्यौहार में भी पटाखे इत्यादि प्रदूषण वाली चीजो का उपयोग होता है लेकिन उस वक्त प्रदूषण के खिलाफ कोई भी रैली नही निकाली जाती । लेकिन जब-जब हिन्दू धर्मो के त्यौहार आएंगे ये लोग सक्रिय हो जातें हैं। जैसे कि होली के  त्यौहार में भी यही जागरूक लोग कहना शुरू कर देंगे कि  पानी की बर्बादी हो रही है , सिर्फ़ सूखे रंगो वाली होली खेली जाए । तिवारी ने सबसे आग्रह करते हुए कहा कि प्रदूषण के खिलाफ हम भी है । लेकिन प्रदूषण सिर्फ़ होली या दिवाली मे जागरूकता दिखाने से नही । बल्कि साल के पूरे 365 दिन जागरूकता दिखाने से होगी ।

मोतीराम आर्या सीनियर सेकेंडरी माडल स्कूल, सेक्टर 27, चण्डीगढ़ के बच्चों ने आज स्कूल परिसर से लेकर आसपास के क्षेत्रों में एंटी क्रैकर रैली निकाली । रैली में लगभग चार सौ के करीब बच्चों ने भाग लिया । उन्होंने स्थानीय निवासियों को पटाखों के नुकसान के बारे में जागरूक करने वाले नारे व बैनर पकड़े हुए थे । उन्होंने ग्रान दिवाली मनाने के प्रति लोगों को जागरूक किया जिससे पर्यावरण भी बच सके । एरिया काऊंसर देवेंद्र सिंह बबला ने भी इस मौके पर बच्चों का उत्साहवर्धन  किया ।

      Unfoldu Online Learning Platform was initiated in 2012 by  Harish Bajaj, Chairman of Unfoldu to help the students from class KG to 12th, covering 31 education boards of different states including CBSE & ICSE and also providing preparation material for various competitive Examinations. Department of English and Cultural Studies collaborated with Rhythms of Rhyme, a Chandigarh based poetry collective, to organize a poetry event featuring Harmanjeet Singh, winner of the SahityaAkademi's YuvaPuraskar Award and the 'HT Youth Icon Under 30'. The event also included performances by two other poets from the city and nearby places and two musicians, one of them was the upcoming composer of the Punjabi music industry, Manpreet Singh. The other poets apart from Harmanjeet were Ekam, ParamveerJhim,  NaviSra, Amrit Pal Singh, Jaspreet Singh, Talwinder Singh Somal. The event was conducted at the Mulk Raj Anand Auditorium and gathered an audience of 200 including teachers, students, and poetry lovers. This is the first time, the young sensation in Punjabi Poetry, Harman  graced a private event. The event not only included poetry performance but also a thought-provoking discussion on poetry which was convened by KaranjeetKomal, who is himself a poet and an associate of both Harman and Manpreet, the duo whose lyrics and music coupling has been gaining a lot of attention and popularity. Both the artists seemed very optimistic with the present progressive forms of Punjabi literature as well as music industry despite some quarters which are against the cultural ethos of Punjab. Rhythms of Rhyme is a poetry collective founded in 2015 by Tajinder Singh and NosheenKapoor. The group in their endeavor to popularize poetry and revive the literary, the authentic, and the artistic in poetry culture, which is fast becoming a victim of excessive digitization and mediocre creativity, conducts poetry events and offers a platform to both published and unpublished poets. The chairperson of the Dept. of English and Cultural Studies, Prof. Deepti Gupta and deputy chairperson, Prof. Akshay Kumar, along with other teachers extended their full support and cooperation.

Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh hosted All Class Reunion to commemorate 35 years of dedicated and illustrious contribution in the field of education.  Every institution traces its success to those who graduate from its portals and hosting a large gathering of alumni who have woven several success stories for themselves in different fields was truly gratifying. The reunion, aptly titled 'Reminisce 2018', was held on the 3rd of November, in Gymkhana Club, MDC. Through this event, the school sought to establish even stronger bonds with its alumni, and reconnect with its alma mater. The event was a roaring success and witnessed a footfall of nearly 400 people including the distinguished guests, Managing Committee members, present & former staff members & alumni. The evening turned out to be an evening of fun, food, friends and nostalgia. Dancing and reminiscing was the order of the night. Shri R K Saboo, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chandigarh Kendra, was the Chief Guest. The Reunion was attended by several eminent educationists such as Ms. Lata Vaidyanathan, Ms. Meenakshi Mohindra, former Principals of the school. Ms. Ambika Menon, Ms. Inderpreet & Ms. Bajwa, former Vice-Principals were also present. In the words of Mrs. Vineeta Arora, Sr. Principal, the reunion was an excellent opportunity for the alumni to trace their roots and relive the happy memories connected with the institution.
