As the Covid cases have
steadily declined, the Administrator Chandigarh, Sh. Banwarilal Purohit has further
relaxed Covid restrictions in the city. The announcement of fresh guidelines
happened during the War room meeting held in UT Secretariat today. After
witnessing the decline in positivity rate, the Administrator has decided to
resume the physical OPDs with 50% capacity at GMSH-16 and
GMCH-32. At present, PGIMER is attending around 4,000 patients in
OPD’s daily (both physically & tele-consultation). The
Administrator directed PGIMER to enhance the daily OPDs cases to about 6,000.
The tele-medicine facility will also continue with the daily OPDs at all the
Hospitals. In wake of an improvement in Covid-19 pandemic crisis,
following restrictions have been eased down by the Administrator :-
•Movement of
individuals for all the non-essential activities shall remain prohibited
between 12.30 A.M. to 5.00 A.M. However, the essential activities including
emergency services, medical health, transport of essential goods, operation of
multiple shifts in industries, offices etc. (both Govt. and Private), movement of
persons and goods on National and State Highways and unloading of Cargo and
travel of persons to their destinations after disembarking from buses, trains
and airplane will be permitted. Detailed prohibitory order under Section 144
CrPC would be issued by the District Magistrate, Chandigarh.
•Gathering for any
purpose should be restricted to 100 persons for indoor and 200 persons for
outdoor, however, the total number of persons shall not exceed 50% of the
capacity of the venue in both indoor and outdoor gatherings.
•The earlier
restrictions on number of employees attending Govt. and Private offices and
Banks etc. in UT of Chandigarh are withdrawn and now the same will function
with physical attendance of 100%.
•All
Hotels/Restaurants/cafés/coffee shops/eating places etc. including home
delivery will be allowed to function upto 12.00 midnight
•Updating the
current COVID scenario, the officers of the Tri-city informed that Mohali has
3,380 active cases, Panchkula has 724 active cases while UT, Chandigarh has
2,590 active cases. The meeting was attended by Sh. Dharam Pal, Adviser
to the Administrator, Sh. Parveer Ranjan, Director General of Police, Dr. Vijay
Namdeorao Zade, Finance Secretary, Sh. Yashpal Garg, Secretary Health, Sh.
Vinay Pratap Singh, Deputy Commissioner Chandigarh at the Administrator’s
office. Chief Conservator of Forests, the Deputy Commissioners of Panchkula and
Mohali, Director, PGIMER, Director Principal, GMCH-32 and Director Health
Services, GMSH-16 attended through Video Conferencing.
