Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh organized its 39th Convocation and Annual Prize Distribution at the College premises. Shri Rubinderjit Singh Brar, Director Higher Education, U.T. Administration was the Chief Guest of the event. Shri Rubinderjit Singh inaugurated a new Research Cell, set up under RUSA, at the campus to facilitate research work in the College. After being introduced to the Staff, the Chief Guest along with Academic Procession entered the hall to the melodious recitation of the Shabad “Gur Parsadi Vidya Vichare Parh-Parh Pave Maan”. S Gurdev Singh Brar, President Sikh Educational Society welcomed the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour, Er. S.S Virdi, Member SES, Chandigarh. Col. (Retd.) J.S. Bala accorded a floral welcome to the esteemed Chief Guest and the Guest of Honor. S. Kulbir Singh, Vice President Sikh Educational Society, graced the occasion. The College Principal Dr. Jatinder Kaur presented the Annual Report of the College, highlighting academic, cultural and sports achievements of the students. She also made mention of activities of the college faculty and students.

Total 483 Degrees were conferred to the students of M.Com, MA, MSc.(IT), BA, B.Com and BCA. Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar, in his convocation address, emphasized that informed, educated and empowered women are the key to economic growth, political stability, and social transformation. He applauded the institution for its excellence and encouraged the students to become the bright future of the Nation. He also gave tips to students for a healthy life ahead. Er.  S S Virdi, Guest of Honor congratulated the students on their achievements and wished them success in their future endeavors. Total 385 prizes were given to students for their meritorious achievements in the fields of Academics, Cultural and Sports. 66 Students were given prizes in the field of Academics, 140 Students were given prizes in the field of Sports. 76 Students were given merit certificates and trophies for excellent achievements in Cultural activities. Navreen Kaur of B.Sc III was declared the Best in Acting, Amandeep Kaur in Music Instrumental and  Suman Gupta was declared as Star performer of NSS. Harpreet Kaur bagged the award of Best in Fine Arts. Pratibha Sharma was adjudged as All Round Best Student in Arts Stream whereas Anjum Arrah, Levia and Neha Sharma were declared as All Round Students in Computer Science and Applications, Commerce and Science streams respectively.  Jigyasa was declared as Best Outgoing Student of the year 2017-18. 21 Scholarships worth Rs.94,000/- were given to needy and meritorious students. Shergill  Award and scholarship of Rs. 25,000 was given to Gurkamal Kaur of BCom III for her academic excellence. Col. (Retd.) J.S. Bala (Secretary, Sikh Educational Society) extended vote of thanks and congratulated the Principal and Faculty members for the achievements of the students. He also encouraged the students to work hard as it is the only way to achieve success. He advised the students to develop their strengths as the world is changing on a fast pace .

    चंडीगढ़ स्थित डडू-मजरा कालोनी में युवा कांग्रेस आईटी सेल चण्डीगढ़ की संयोजक आरती द्वारा महिला सुरक्षा जागरूक अभियान चलाया गया l जिसमें महिलाओं की सुरक्षा के लिए उन्हें जागरूक किया गया । इस अवसर पर मौजूद महिलाओं को सम्बोधित करते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि आज भी महिलाओं को एक सी पहचान और एकसा ही सम्मान न मिलना दुख की बात है। हर जगह उन्हें बराबरी का अधिकार मिलना चाहिए l जिसे हासिल करने के लिए खुद महिलाओं को ही आगे आकर जज्बा दिखाना होगा। उन्होंने महिलाओ को आत्मनिर्भर बनने के कई तरीके भी बताए। इस मौके पर उनके साथ महिला कार्यकर्त्ता पूजा, खुशबू आदि भी शामिल थीं ।

   CSIR CSIO Chennai Centres “Energy Meter with Digital Communication” is one such technology which will serve as a revolution in the Indian smart grid industry. The developed smart meter uses state of the art technology for simultaneous scanning of three phase power and has extended provision to record, import and export (bi-directional) energy using sophisticated industrial protocols. 

The technology know how of the meter was transferred to M/s Atsuya Technologies Pvt. Limited in the presence of Director CSIR-CSIO, Prof. R. K. Sinha on 30th of April, 2018 at Chennai Centre. Atsuya is an Indian startup R&D firm based out of Mumbai, specialised in cloud and sophisticated analytics to meet the challenges of modern Industries. 

    CSIR - CSIO Chennai Centre is currently focused in the area of energy instrumentation by taking and executing the projects on energy efficiency, energy monitoring, remote monitoring systems and renewable energy. CSIOs Chennai centre has developed and technology transferred many industrial solutions like Energy Management System, Pump and Motor Efficiency Monitoring System, Power Quality Analyser, Portable Energy Audit tool etc. in the last two years. 

Apart from R&D, CSIR-CSIO Chennai Centre also provides calibration, testing, energy auditing and HRD services to more than 500 pan Indian industries.

चंडीगढ़ : कोआर्डिनेशन कमेटी ऑफ गवर्नमेंट एंड एमसी  इंप्लाइज एंड वर्कर्स यूटी चंडीगढ़ इस बार मजदूर दिवस 1 मई को सेक्टर 37 वाटर वर्क्स में बड़ी धूमधाम से मनाया| झंडा फहराया ,  शिकांगो के शहीदों को सलाम किया  और श्रद्धांजलि  अर्पित की गई | जिन्होंने निश्चय किया था कि मजदूर 8 घंटे से ज्यादा काम नहीं करेगे और और जिसके लिए उन्होंने हड़ताल की और हाकम सरकार ने उन पर गोलियां बरसाई और बहुत सारे मजदूर मारे गए अश्वनी कुमार कन्वीनर ने कहा कि हम चंडीगढ़ में यहां रेगुलर मुलाजिमों की लड़ाई लड़ रहे हैं वही  चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन  कॉन्ट्रैक्ट पर काम करने वाले मुलाजिम का  शोषण कर रहे है उनके लिए कंप्रेहैंसिव सुरक्षित पॉलिसी बनाने के लिए और समान काम समान वेतन के लिए और लेबर लॉ लागू करने के लिए लगातार संघर्ष कर रहे हैं क्योंकि चंडीगढ़ के जो मुलाजिम कॉन्ट्रैक्ट पर काम कर रहे हैं और जो वेतन ले रहे हैं वो भी चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन कम करने की कोशिश कर रहा है पर कोआर्डिनेशन कमेटी अपना संघर्ष जारी रखेगी  और  चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन से मांग करते हैं कि मजदूर दिवस  पर 1 मई को छुट्टी घोषित की जाए| समाप्ति के बाद कोआर्डिनेशन कमेटी का 1 वफात अश्विनी कुमार कन्वीनर की अगुवाई में डिप्टी कमिश्नर श्री अजीत बालाजी जोशी IAS को मिला मांग पत्र सौंपा मांग पत्र में मांग की गई कि 2018 19 का डीसी रेट बढ़ाया जाए कंडक्टर कैटेगिरी को फोर्थ क्लास से 3 क्लास में लाया जाए और सुरक्षा कर्मचारियों घटाया गया वेतन फिर बढ़ाया जाए| मुलाजिमों को जसवंत सिंह मलकीत सिंह सुखविंदर सिंह कमल कुमार चरणजीत सिंह श्रवण कुमार सतींदर सिंह एस रंधावा मामराज करनैल सिंह अनिल कुमार आदि ने संबोधित किया|

शिमला: हिमाचल प्रदेश के 1,320 प्राइमरी और 154 मिडल स्कूल जो इस समय सिंगल टीचर के सहारे चल रहे हैं, ऐसे में सरकार ने इन स्कूलों में युक्तिकरण करने का फैसला लिया है। इसके तहत जिन स्कूलों में शिक्षक ज्यादा है, उन्हें आसपास के ऐसे स्कूलों में भेजा जाएगा, जहां शिक्षकों की संख्या कम है। ऐसे में यदि कोई शिक्षक पिछले कई वर्षों से शहर के नजदीक स्कूलों में ही सेेवाएं दे रहा है तो उसे अब दूरदराज के क्षेत्रों में भेजा जाएगा। सरकार प्राथमिक व मिडल स्कूलों में ही यह युक्तिकरण करने जा रही है । इस दौरान जे.बी.टी, टी.जी.टी और सी. एंड वी के पदों पर ही युक्तिकरण किया जाएगा। बताया जा रहा है कि कम छात्रों वाले स्कूलों को इस दौरान बंद भी किया जा सकता है। हालांकि सरकार ने 600 स्कूलों को बंद करने का निर्णय लिया है। दूसरी तरफ इस कड़ी में प्रारंभिक शिक्षा विभाग ने भी जिलों को आदेश जारी कर दिए हैं। विभाग ने इस संबंध में जिलों को आर.टी.ई एक्ट के तहत प्रस्ताव तैयार कर निदेशालय को भेजने को कहा है।

धर्मशाला (एनटी24एन) : मास्टर ब्लास्टर सचिन तेंदुलकर अपनी पत्नी अंजलि संग  मंगलवार हिमाचल प्रदेश कांगड़ा पहुंचे । सुरक्षा के पुखता इंतजामों के बीच वह गग्गल एयरपोर्ट पर उतरे, जहां उनका हिमाचली रीतिरिवाज़ से स्वागत किया गया । सचिन तेंदुलकर हिमाचल में दुनिया के सबसे खूबसूरत अंतराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट स्टेडियम धर्मशाला में बन रहे क्रिकेट संग्रहालय का 2 मई को शिलान्यास करेंगे। जिसमे धर्मशाला स्टेडियम क्रिकेट म्यूजियम भी खोला जाएगा । मिली जानकारी के मुताबिक उनके बेटे अर्जुन तेंदुलकर पहले से ही धर्मशाला में मौजूद हैं । धर्मशाला स्टेडियम में सचिन का स्टेचू भी लगाया जाएगा । इसके साथ ही यहां पर भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के पूर्व कप्तान और दिग्गज ऑलराउंडर कपिल देव, राहुल द्रविड़ और अनिल कुंबले जैसे नामी खिलाड़ियों के भी स्टेचू रखे जाएंगे ।

बेंगलुरु: प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने कांग्रेस पर वंशवाद की राजनीति करने और देश को गुमराह करने का आरोप लगाते हुए आज कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी को चुनौती दी कि वह 15 मिनट तक कर्नाटक सरकार की उपलब्धियों को गिनाएं। प्रधानमंत्री ने राहुल गांधी पर हमला करते हुए कहा कि वह नामदार हैं और उन्हें कामदारों की मेहनत पर भरोसा नहीं है। वह वंशवाद की राजनीति से आकर नए-नए कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष बने हैं इसलिए अध्यक्ष बनने के बाद अति उत्साह में मर्यादा तोड़ रहे हैं।

       पीएम ने कहा कि राहुल आधी-अधूरी जानकारी के साथ मैदान में उतरते हैं। जिनको वंदे मातरम् की जानकारी नहीं वे कामगारों को क्या समझेंगे। मोदी ने दक्षिण कर्नाटक के चामराजनगर में विशाल चुनावी सभा को संबोधित करते हुए कर्नाटक की जनता से कांग्रेस को हटाकर भाजपा को राज्य की सत्ता सौंपने का आह्वान किया और वादा किया कि भाजपा कर्नाटक में सभी को सुशासन देगी और भ्रष्टाचार से मुक्ति दिलाएगी।
       मोदी ने कांग्रेस पर भ्रष्टाचार करने और देश को गुमराह करने का आरोप लगाया और कहा कि तत्कालीन कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी के दिशा-निर्देश में तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह ने 2009 तक हर गांव को बिजली पहुंचाने का वादा किया था लेकिन यह काम पिछले 28 अप्रैल को उनकी सरकार ने पूरा किया है। उन्होंने इसे कांग्रेस का गुमराह करने वाला वादा बताया और पूछा कि क्यों कांग्रेस सरकार ने यह काम पूरा नहीं किया। मोदी ने आज कर्नाटक में 12 मई को होने वाले विधानसभा चुनाव के मद्देनजर पार्टी के लिए आज से चुनावी शंखनाद किया।

नई दिल्लीः टैलीकॉम कमीशन ने लोकल और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फ्लाइट्स में मोबाइल फोन कॉल्‍स और इंटरनैट के इस्‍तेमाल के प्रस्‍ताव को मंजूरी दे दी है। जबकी ये सर्विसेज कुछ शर्तों के साथ मिलेंगी। यह मंजूरी मंगलवार को हुई कमीशन की मीटिंग में दी गई। दूरसंचार सचिव अरुणा सुंदरराजन के मुताबिक, कमीशन ने इंटरनैट टेलीफोनी को लेकर टैलीकॉम रेगुलेटर अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया (ट्राई) की सिफारिशों को भी मंजूरी दे दी है । उन्‍होंने यह भी कहा कि टैलीकॉम से जुड़ी शिकायतों से निपटने के लिए एक लोकपाल (ओमबड्समैन) बनाए जाने के प्रस्‍ताव को भी मंजूरी दी गई है। लोकपाल को ट्राई के तहत स्‍थापित किया जाएगा और इसके लिए ट्राई एक्‍ट में संशोधन की जरूरत होगी । हर तिमाही लगभग 1 करोड़ शिकायतें सुंदरराजन ने कहा कि टैलीकॉम सेक्‍टर में हर तिमाही लगभग 1 करोड़ शिकायतें आती हैं। लोकपाल की नई व्‍यवस्‍था एक बेहतर और संतोषजनक शिकायत निवारण सिस्‍टम की ओर ले जाएगी।

Labour Day was celebrated at PML SD Public School with full aplomb. The function kicked off with speeches given by students of NSS welcoming the workers and acknowledging their hard work. Workers, drivers, conductors and class IV employees of the school were distributed sweets and snacks by Principal Ma’am and students of the Junior wing. Mrs. Monica Sharma congratulated the workers and thanked them for their selfless services. Workers were overwhelmed watching the function and expressed their gratitude towards the school management, teachers and students for their endeavor.  Mr. Jayant Kumar, Sports Teacher of the school, too delivered a speech.

      Stepping Stones International celebrates Labourday on May 1, 2018 with full aplomb. A special assembly was organized by Stepping Stones International and Stepping Stones Sr. Sec. School where the workers of school were felicitated by giving gifts to them. The assembly kicked off with a speech welcoming the workers and acknowledging their hard work. Students of both the wings enacted plays on the hardships of a worker’s life.  Students recited poems praising the labourers.

     A fancy dress competition was organized for the students of classes 1i and 2i where they came dressed as different workers of different fields. Students of classes 3i to 9i participated in poster making and slogan writing competition.

    To make children realize the importance of giving, students of classes 6i to 9i were told to bring things for the labourers which can be sent to them for their use. Workers were overwhelmed watching the function and expressed their gratitude towards the school management, teachers and students for their endeavor. School principal Ms. Anu Kumar congratulated the workers and thanked them for their selfless services.

Celebrating 50 years of its continued excellence in education, MCM DAV College for Women hosted its Annual Convocation today. Jubilation marked the ceremony as over 1050 graduates and postgraduates received their degrees during the ceremony. Sh. Anurag Singh Thakur, Member of Parliament made the occasion even more memorable for the degree holders with his presence as the Chief Guest. The Guest of Honour Sh. R.K. Popli, PCS, Director Public Relations, Chandigarh and Special Guest Sh. Bikram Singh Rana, State Mission Officer, UT, Chandigarh were present during the event. 

       The function commenced with the presentation of Annual Report by the Principal of the college, Dr. Nisha Bhargava. The report provided glimpses of the commendable achievements of the college during the academic year, including academic, sports and cultural. Congratulating degree holders on the successful completion of an important phase of their lives, Sh. Anurag Singh Thakur gave them the mantra of 'Never give up' to live by, which even Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan espoused, and motivated the students to hold the  baton of India's development and bring about qualitative change in the society and in the lives of those who do not have a voice. Commending MCM for standing up to the ideals of Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan, Mr. Thakur expressed appreciation for MCM's crusade for women empowerment. College magazine Mehr Jyoti was also unveiled by the dignitaries during the function.  Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed upon Dr. Simi R. Singh, Department of Music, as an acknowledgement of her unparalleled contribution to the institution during her 40 years long association with the college. On this august occasion, 55 faculty members were also felicitated for their academic endeavours including publication of books, research projects, paper presentations at international level and completion of doctorate. Besides awarding the degrees, 12 university toppers were awarded Special Prizes, and 4 students of Mass Communication and 3 students of Zoology were given Award of Appreciation for their exceptional achievements and contribution in their respective fields. 

         Dr. Nisha Bhargava, MCM Principal congratulated the students for keeping alive the inimitable tradition of excellence of MCM through their awe-inspiring achievements. Advising the students to never rest on their laurels, Dr. Nisha exhorted them to work towards their goals with focused determination and wished them luck for their future endeavours.
