Chandigarh Golf Club Wins, Inter Club Golf Championship

   The Inter Club Golf Championship which is an annual event was played at the Chandigarh Golf Club on 21^st October. A total of five teams played namely Panchkula Golf Club, SEPTA Chandimandir, KEPTA Ambala, BETA Patiala and Chandigarh Golf Club. CGC President Birinder Singh Gills said “this tournament is conducted to promote camaraderie and understanding amongst the senior Army officers and officers from civil and allied civil services from the region”. Each team was represented by 20 players, 18 men and 2 Ladies, five players from each of the four categories (handicap 0-6, handicap 7 – 12, handicap 13-18, above 75 years). The best 4 cards of each team were counted to calculate the winning team.

       The Chandigarh Golf Club Team won the Championship with a team best score of 172 points played by the four best players of the team namely GS Ruppal (45points), Hazel Chauhan (44 points), JS Sandhawalia (42 points) and Ashwani Sharma (41 points). Panchkula Golf Club and Chandigarh Golf Club both had identical scores of 172 points but the Chandigarh Golf Club won this championship due to the better back 6 score. In addition to this there were prizes in each category. In the gross category Saurabh Singh Mangat was the winner (74). In the 0-6 handicap category Lakhmehar Pardesi (40 points) won and Col. AS Bajwa (39 points) finished runners-up.In the 7-12 handicap category Col. AS Dhillon (42 points) took the pole position while Vivek Sharma (41 points) finished runners-up.In the 13-18 handicap category Shobhit Ghai (47 points) was the winner whereas Hazel Chauhan (44 points) came second.GS Uppal (45 points) was the winner in the above 75 years category leaving DS Brar (42 points) in the runners-up position.

शोभा यात्रा बाल्मीकि आश्रम सेक्टर 20 चंडीगढ़ से शुरू होकर सेक्टर 21,f22,23,24,25, से होकर बाल्मीकि आश्रम डडूमाजरा के प्रांगण में एक विशाल समारोह में प्रवर्तित की गई | हजारों की संख्या में इस भव्य यात्रा में लोगों की भीड़ उमड़ी | सभी वक्तायों ने अपने अपने भाषणों में भगवान् बाल्मीकि जी की शिक्षयों पर आधारित प्रहार प्रसार किया और आये हुए सभी सांगत को सभी वक्तायों ने अपने बच्चों को शिक्षा की और आकर्षित करने के लिए कहा | इस समारोह में भजन मण्डली ने भगवान् बाल्मीकि महराज जी का गुणगान किया | इस समारोह के उपरान्त आई हुई संगत को भंडारे की व्यवस्था की गई |

The 6^th edition of Chandigarh Literary Society’s annual premier literary event, Literati 2018, shall be held on 17-18 November at the Lake Club.This was announced at the UT Guest House here today at the CLS annual prize distribution function for online short story writing competition, by Vivek Atray, author and motivational speaker He said that besides several celebrated authors, Literati plans to have various interactive activities for the tricity audience, with cultural evenings at the Lake Club. CLS has ignited interest among people to write and many young authors from this region have published their work in the last few years, he said. CLA gave away prizes to winners of its annual online short story writing competition where the winners read out their submissions.

         The first prize was won by Arpita Bhattacharjee, while Yuvika Grewal and Rashmi Sharma shared the second prize, and David Mathew won the third prize for the story. Five other received special commendations for their stories, including Deviyani Singh, Ria Khurana, Suraj Sriivastav, Seerat Sandhu, and Manmeet Kaur.The members of the Jury, celebrated authors Neelkamal Puri and Neha Soi interacted wit\h the budding authors and city’s literati. City’s  award winning journalist and author, Jupinderjit Singh, who shot into fame when he traced missing pistol of Shaheed Bhagat Singh for for 85 years, read out excerpts from his book.

         Another multi-lingual poet, writer and columnist, and recipient of ‘World Icon of Peace’ from World Institute of Peace at Nigeria, Lily Swarn, read out her verses.

    One day capacity building workshop for Entrepreneurial Ventures in Nutritive Cakes, Chocolates and Cookies was held at Home Science College on October 17, 2018, under the aegis of RUSA. Founder Baker of Polka & Vinnie's, Mr. Vinod Sidhu, an acclaimed baker, who is also working as a part time faculty in Chandigarh Institute of Hotel Management, gave hands on demonstration on Eggless brownie's, healthy Cakes, Whole wheat and Corn cookies, Stuffed baked whole wheat kulcha and decorative Chocolates. Cake Icing techniques were also demonstrated.  Mr. Vinod  has more than 20 years of experience crafting all sorts of treats, from  cookies, bars and scones to creative cakes. As a successful bakery owner, Mr. Vinod shared his experience of setting up of entrepreneurial ventures in bakery to the Post Graduate students. The workshop was attended by more than 75 participants including faculty members and students. Principal Prof.Sudha Katyal urged the students to empower themselves with skills so as to use the same for being job creators rather than job seekers

' रांझा रेफ्यूजी ' आगामी पंजाबी फिल्म है जो 26 अक्टूबर को रिलीज होने के लिए तैयार है । यह निर्माता तर्सेम कोशल और सुदेश ठाकुर द्वारा बनाई गई है । उत्पादन के बैनर के तहत उत्पादित । यह फिल्म अवतार सिंह द्वारा लिखी और निर्देशित की गई है, जो कि फिल्म “ मिट्टी ना फ़रोल जोगिया ” (2015) और रुपिंदर गांधी: “ द रॉबिनहाउस ” (2017) के लिए प्रसिद्ध है, जो की इन दोनों फिल्मों के लेखक और निर्देशक थे । फिल्म ' रांझा रेफ्यूजी '' में, रोशन प्रिंस ' रांझा सिंह ' की भूमिका निभा रहे हैं, जिसकी दिलचस्पी सानवी धीमान  में है ।

       यह फिल्म भारत और पाकिस्तान के बारे में भी बात करती है । इस फिल्म का मुख्य आकर्षण यह है कि रोशन प्रिंस ट्रेलर में दोहरी भूमिका में दिखाई देते है। यह फिल्म एक रोमांटिक नाटक है और कॉमेडी से भरपूर है । 1971 के युद्ध से पहले के वर्षों में स्थापित यह फिल्म एक ऐसे व्यक्ति की कहानी बताती है जो अपने जीवन के प्यार को पाने का प्रयास करता है, जिसका नाम प्रीतो है । प्रीतो की मां उसकी शादी कहीं और तैय कर देती है और रांझा उस विवाह को तोड़ने के हर संभव प्रयास करता है । अंत में, उसे सफलता मिलती है, लेकिन इसके कारण, उसे पूरे गांव के गुस्से का सामना करना पड़ता है और उसे गांव छोड़ना पड़ता है । फिर वह एक और नया अध्याय शुरू करने के लिए सेना में शामिल हो जाता है, जहां उसे अपने हमशक्ल का सामना करना पड़ता है, जो सीमा के दूसरी तरफ है ।

     यह रोमांचित फिल्म 26 अक्टूबर को बॉक्स ऑफिस पर रिलीज़ होने के लिए तैयार है । इस फिल्म के कलाकारों में रोशन प्रिंस, सानवी धीमान,  करमजीत अनमोल, हरबी संघा, मलकीत  रोनी और निशा बानो शामिल हैं । संगीत गुरमीत सिंह, जस्सी एक्स और आर. डी.  बीट ने दिया है, जबकि बाबू सिंह मान और हैप्पी रायकोटी द्वारा लिरिक्स लिखे गये हैं । जबकिं फिल्म के गानों के लिए आवाज़ रोशन प्रिन्स, मन्नत नूर, फरोज़ ख़ान, नच्छतर गिल और जग्गी बाजवा ने दी है |
