Administrator Launched the e-Vigilance Portal

Hon'ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT, Chandigarh launched the e-Vigilance Portal today at Punjab Raj Bhawan, UT, Chandigarh in the presence of Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, Advisor to the Administrator and Sh. B.L. Sharma, IAS, Secretary Vigilance. The Vigilance Clearance is required in respect of all the officers/officials of Chandigarh Administration on various occasions like promotion, ACP, Ex-India Leave, deputation, retirement etc. The process till date has been the manual one which took around 20 to 30 days.To streamline the process and cut short the processing time, the Vigilance Department in collaboration with NIC, Chandigarh developed e-vigilance portal for the convenience of employees of the Chandigarh Administration. More than 33000 employees of Chandigarh Administration, Boards, Corporations & PSUs will get benefited from the e-Vigilance portal. The time for vigilance clearance has been cut short to maximum 2-3 working days. Now, the departments have to apply online on the e-Vigilance portal to get the Vigilance Clearance Certificate. A provision has also been made in the e-vigilance portal, for uploading the pending departmental inquiry proceedings, which would be mandatory for all the HODs to update. On the e-vigilance portal, the Vigilance Clearance can be provided in transparent and time bound manner. The Vigilance Department have been working on this portal under the guidance of Adviser to the Administrator-cum-Chief Vigilance Officer and senior officers of Vigilance Department.  Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, Secretary Sports, Sh. Harish Nayar, IAS, Special Secretary Vigilance, Sh. Vivek Verma, SIO NIC and other officials of Vigilance Department, Chandigarh Administration were also present during the launch.

The 11th Chrysanthemum Exhibition organized by Horticulture Division of Panjab University in Prof. R.C. Paul Rose Garden, PU, Chandigarh was inaugurated today by Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor Panjab University in the presence of Mrs. Kumar. The Exhibition  is on from 18-23, December, 2018. PU VC appreciated the efforts of the Horticulture Division, Panjab University and congratulated the staff of the Division by saying that such green initiatives on part of University help us in getting closer to the nature and creating awareness about environment amongst the masses. He emphasized that it is the duty of all citizens to contribute their bit towards environment and Horticulture Division is doing a great work in this direction. He also appreciated the ambience of Prof. R.C. Paul Rose Garden. Prof. Karamjeet Singh, Registrar was the guest of honour and he applauded the efficiency of the staff of Horticulture Division and motivated them to work with more zeal to achieve better in future. The exhibition had 128 varieties of Chrysanthemums and about 3000 potted plants. 24 different flower arrangements were at display. The visitors appreciated these arrangements and were seen getting their photographs clicked with these arrangements and fountains. Er. Anil Thakur, Divisional Engineer (Hort.) apprised those present that like previous years, this 11th edition of Chrysanthemum Exhibition has been organised by the Horticulture Division to mark the advent of spring season. Simultaneously, it gives a message of environment protection to the masses and an pportunity to display the best Chrysanthemum collection of Horticulture Division which have been nurtured with hard work all through the year. The exhibition was attended by eminent officers of the University, PU Fellow, Controller of Examinations, Dean College Development Council, Finance & Development Officer, Dean Student Welfare, Dean Student Welfare (W), Chairpersons, Wardens, Executive Engineers, President PUNTEF, and representatives of other teaching and non teaching unions, Representatives of PUCSC. The event was well attended and appreciated by faculty, staff, students and general public.

Mr. Binesh Bhatia, NSS volunteer, Panjab University, Chandigarh has been designated as a Certified Trainer of Ministry of Electronic and Information Technology (MietY) for organizing e-Waste  sessions for the society. He has been successfully organizing awareness campaign on e-waste under the supervision of MietY in the various sectors of Chandigarh and Mohali.Two such workshops in PU Campus, as well as two at Dental college and Residential area of South campus, Panjab University to sensitize University students for the growing hazard of e-waste in our society for large interest has also been organized by Binesh. He will be arranging more sessions for same workshops to be sponsored by MietY for e-Waste workshop in School, Colleges and Universities level under MietY awareness program.

A Workshop to create awareness about menstrual hygiene was organised for the residents and staff of Girls Hostel No. 10 (Neerja Bhanot Hall) at Panjab University. Dr. Gaurav Gaur, NSS programme officer with his team of NSS volunteers’ oriented participants about the myths, practices, physiological and sociological aspects related to menstrual cycles in females. Stressing on the Swacch Bharat mission, Dr. Archana Chauhan, Warden of the hostel no. 10, oriented the participants about the usage of sanitary pad vending machines and sanitary pad incinerator installed in the hostel. She also impressed upon the proper and safe disposal of Sanitary Pads to avoid infections due to biological waste generated in the hostels. Prof. Neena Capalash, Dean Student Welfare (Women) explained the importance of healthy balanced diet and avoiding junk/oily food during menstruation. The faculty members from Panjab University, Wardens from various hostels and NSS programme officers attended the event.  The workshop was made interactive and informative with multimedia presentation and debate on various physiological and psychological issues faced by students during the menstrual cycle.

पंजाबी फिल्म इंडस्ट्री में यह वर्ष शादी से भरा रहा । 2018 में आयी ज़्यादातर फिल्मों की कहानियां शादियों के समय होने वाली मस्ती और गड़बड़ पर आधारित रहीं ।  शायद यही कारण है कि दर्शक इस फार्मूला पर बनी कहानियों से उकता गए हैं । इसीलिए 2019 की पहली फिल्म ही एक नए कांसेप्ट के साथ आ रही है जोकि एक सन्देश भी देगी और भारत के सबसे पसंदीदा रैपर-गायक बादशाह ने कहानीकार और निर्देशक की दूरदर्शिता पर भरोसा करते हुए अपने प्रोडक्शन हाउस अपरा फिल्म्स के पहले प्रोजेक्ट ‘दो दूनी पंज’ का निर्माण किया है ।  फिल्म का ट्रेलर सोमवार को रिलीज़ किया गया । फिल्म की पहली झलक, इसका टीज़र पिछले हफ्ते ही रिलीज़ किया गया था और अब ट्रेलर व्हाइट हिल म्यूजिक के ऑफिशिअल यूट्यूब चैनल पर लांच किया गया । फिल्म में अमृत मान और ईशा रिखी मुख्य किरदार में नज़र आएंगे । इनके अलावा फिल्म में राणा रणबीर, करमजीत अनमोल, सरदार सोही, हार्बी सांघा, निर्मल ऋषि, रुपिंदर रूपी, मलकीत रॉनी, तरसेम पॉल, गुरिंदर मकना, निशा बानो, प्रीतो साहनी, संजू सोलंकी, नवदीप कलेर, जग्गी धुरी, सुखी पात्रन, हर्ज नागरा, दिवस, इशप्रीत, मनजीत सिंह और प्रीतपाल पाली जैसे मशहूर अभिनेता भी नज़र आएंगे । फिल्म की कहानी, पटकथा और संवाद जीवा ने लिखे हैं । प्रोजेक्ट के निर्माता बादशाह ने कहा, "यह फिल्म आज के नौजवानों की समस्याओं को उजागर करती है । पहले आपकी पढ़ाई की डिग्रियों से ही आपकी नौकरी पक्की हो जाती थी पर यह आज कल के समय में ऐसा नहीं होता । मैं एक ऐसे आईडिया में पैसा लगाना चाहता था जिस पर अब तक किसी ने काम न किया हो । अपरा फिल्म्स की हमेशा यही कोशिश रहेगी कि हम ऐसे कांसेप्ट पर फिल्में बनाएं जोकि मनोरंजन और जागरूकता का मिश्रण हो । 'दो दूनी पंज' बिलकुल वैसी ही कहानी है।  ट्रेलर में हमारी कोशिश रही है कि नायक की तकदीर का खुलासा न करें और आशा करते हैं कि लोग इसके अंजाम को जानने के लिए फिल्म देखने ज़रूर जायेंगे । मुख्य अदाकार, अमृत मान ने कहा, " दो दूनी पंज एक ऐसी फिल्म है जहाँ मुझे बहुत ही अनुभवी, प्रतिभावान और विनम्र लोगों के साथ काम करने का मौका मिला । मैंने हैरी भट्टी और फिल्म के कुछ अन्य अभिनेताओं के साथ पहले भी अपनी डेब्यू फिल्म में काम किया था । पर यह फिल्म ही अपने आप में एक आँखें खोल देने वाला अनुभव रहा । पहली बार बादशाह पाजी के साथ काम करने का मौका मिला और फिल्में बनाने का उनका दृष्टिकोण सराहनीय है । ट्रेलर से आपको मेरे किरदार के संघर्षों का अंदाजा ज़रूर लग जाएगा पर उसकी कोशिश उसे आखिरकार पहुंचा देती है यह जानने के लिए फिल्म ज़रूर देखें । ” फिल्म के निर्देशक हैरी भट्टी ने बताया , "ट्रेलर आपको फिल्म की कहानी का कुछ अंदाज़ा दे देता है पर उसके बाद उत्सुकता भी बनाये रखता है कि आगे क्या हुआ।  मैं आपको विश्वास दिलाता हूँ कि दो दूनी पंज बहुत ही दिलचस्प कहानी है । यह फिल्म पंजाबी फिल्म जगत में बेहतर कहानियों का दौर शुरू करेगी । सारी टीम ने अपना बेहतरीन प्रदर्शन करने का प्रयास किया है और यह फिल्म दर्शकों के दिमाग पर प्रभाव ज़रूर छोड़ेगी । " दो दूनी पंज का ट्रेलर व्हाइट हिल म्यूजिक के ऑफिशियल यूट्यूब चैनल ओर रिलीज़ किया गया और फिल्म 11 जनवरी को आपके नज़दीकी सिनेमाघरों में लगेगी ।
