इस अवसर पर श्री राकेश कुमार पोपली असिस्टेंट एस्टेट ऑफिसर समारोह के मुख्य अतिथि रहे ।वार्षिक समारोह द्वीप प्रज्वलित करने के बाद गणेश शिवस्तुति से शुरू हुआ।श्री ओ पी गोयल प्रेसिडेंट दिव्य एजुकेशनल सोसायटी के स्वागत भाषण के बाद प्री नर्सरी के नन्हे मुन्हे ने वेलकम डांस प्रस्तुत किया । नर्सरी और के जी कक्षा के विद्यार्थियों ने डांस एवरीवन डांस और फोक डांस से मन मोह लिया । प्राइमरी कक्षा के विद्यार्थियों ने मैंने कहा फूलों से , ओम नमः शिवाय , रेनबो नृत्य प्रस्तुत किया । लघु नाटिका मोबाइल एडिक्शन के जरिये बच्चों को मोबाइल के सदुपयोग के संदेश दिया गया व अंग्रेजी नाटक ओल्ड एज होम के जरिये  बुजुर्गों को वृद्धाश्रम भेजने की प्रक्रिया को दर्शाया गया । एंजल डांस ने सब का मन मोह लिया और हील दी वर्ल्ड पर नृत्य ने संसार में शांति बनाए रखने का संदेश दिया । पावर्टी दी प्रॉब्लम स्किट कम डांस ने देश में गरीबी की समस्या को उजागर किया । हॉलीवुड मेडले ,भंगड़ा और फ्यूजन ने सभी दर्शकों के चेहरों पर मुस्कान ला दी । प्रिंसिपल श्री राजेश कमल ने वोट ऑफ थैंक्स किया व समापन राष्ट्र गान से हुआ ।

President of India, Sh. Ram NathKovind visited Sanjay Tandon, Chandigarh State President BJP at his residence to convey his condolences on the death of Sh. BalramJI Das Tandon. Late Sh. Balramji Das Tandon was governor of Chhattisgarh and father of Sanjay Tandon. President Kovind met all the family members of Tandon household and offered his sympathies. President Kovind visited the bereaved families residence breaking the official protocol of President of India. Earlier, at the time of death of Sh. BalramJi Das Tandon, President Kovind had spoken to Sanjay on phone to convey his sympathies and had promised he would visit his residence whenever he is in Chandigarh next.  President Kovind was accompanied by the governor of Punjab and Haryana, Sh V.P. Badnore and Satyadev Narayan along with state agriculture minister Radhamohan Singh, Cabinet Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Chief minister of Haryana Sh. Monohar Lal Khattar. Sanjay resented the president with a book based on Sh. Balramji Das Tandon’s life along with a sculpture of Sh. Sai Baba as token of gratitude. Informing about the President’s meeting with Tandon family, Chandigarh State Gen Secretary Chandershekhar informed President Kovind’s visit was exceptional because he disregarded the President’s protocol. He further informed that president Kovind while talking to the family members said that Sh. Balramji Das Tandon was a person of distinguished personality, who foregone most of his life in the service of nation. He said,BalramjiTandon did numerous efforts, both in official as well as personal capacity for development and upliftment of his fellow citizens. People like him are an inspiration to everyone and will be known for their selfless nation to service forever. He said it is a great loos to nation to lose such a dedicated leader and offered his sympathies to the family. He offered flowers on Sh. BalramJi Das Tandon’s picture and a prayer was organized. President Kovind extended an invitation to wife of late Sh. BalramJi Das Tandon to visit President’s house in New Delhi and offered to help her get treated for her knee problems. President Kovind also praised Sanjay for being a devout disciple of SatyaSai baba and for sharing his teachings with everyone.

Property Consultants Association, Chandigarh organized a Blood, Organ and Body Donation Camp at Mobile Market, Sector-22, Chandigarh on Saturday, 1st December 2018 from 10 AM - 3 PM. Doctors and team from GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh rendered their valuable services. Shri Rakesh Kumar Popli, Assisstant Estate Officer, Chandigarh, was Chief Guest and inaugurated this camp. The response was overwhelming as 105 donors donated blood, 18 people pledged their bodies and 6 people pledged their organs at the camp. Shri Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, Chairman & Shri Kamal Gupta, President, thanked all the donors who donated blood for the noble cause at the camp and also valued the participation and support of the members of the association for making this event a huge success. While speaking on the occasion, Shri Rakesh Kumar Popli appreciated the efforts of the association for organizing this camp and congratulated all the members. Stepping Stones Senior Secondary School, Sector 37, Stepping Stones International Wing Sector 37 and Stepping Stones Sector 38, celebrated their 35 th Annual Day. The international wing of Stepping Stones Classes Nursery to IX, celebrated their Annual Sports Day on December 1,2018. Chief guests of Honour Mr. Aman Samrat and Ms. Anupama Sharma were welcomed by a March Past to the tune of the Army Band. The chief guests flagged off the races held for all the classes which was later followed by the Prize Distribution ceremony for both athletic events as well as academic performance of the children. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Ms. Anu Kumar emphasized the need for integrating sports with academic curriculum for a healthy development of each child. The children presented their talents on the Theme ‘Colours of Life’ wherein they depicted the significance of the colours through various dance performances. They brought forth the qualities of renunciation, friendship, depth and stability,wisdom, forgiveness, persistence, perseverance. Each performance was highly appreciated The Senior Wing (Classes VI to XII) function too was held on December 1,20018, started with a March Past headed by the school captains to the tune of the Army Band. The school choir welcomed the parents and chief guest Mr. Saksham Arora, with a welcome song ‘Bharat Vande Matram’. In addition as a ‘Mark of Respect’ NCC Cadets saluted the gathering and guest of honour. Students from all classes competed in various races and athletic events such as Shot Put, Long Jump, Javelin Throw etc. It was followed by ‘Rewards and Recognition’ wherein the Chief Guest gave away Medals and Certificates of Appreciation to all the meritorious performers from the last academic session. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal Ms. Anu Kumar highlighted the achievements of the school in the year gone by. They were followed by a representation of the union of body & soul through YOGA. Balance of Grace & Fury was highlighted by a fusion of gymnastics, taekwondo and karate. The highlight of the event was the collective visual gala presented by Stepping Stones children presented unity in diversity through fusion of various dance forms as Bharat Natyam, Kathak, Odissi. The celebration of life through various natural forms / formations were artistically presented before a spellbound audience. There is nothing like Bhangra and Gidda to invigorate the spirits and bring forth the youthful energy of Punjab. The conclusion to the event was an energetic performance by the senior students aptly named Jattan te Jattian di Shaan. Stepping Stones Senior Secondary School branch at Sector 38 (Pre-Nursery to Class V) was also the part of the festivities. Their function held on November 30,2018, started with a March Past headed by the school captains to the tune of the Army Band. The school choir welcomed the parents and chief guest with a welcome song. Students from all classes competed in various races and athletic events (Run Free, Step Up), followed by a fusion dance of Yoga, Karate and Drill. The adorable tiny tots from Pre-Nursery to Nursery performed these drills bringing forth a sense of pride to their parents. Races and field events were held for the seniors from classes I to V as well. The performances of the children in Yoga, Gymnastics, Taekwondo were highly appreciated. The highlight of the event was the collective visual gala presented by Stepping Stones children from all classes upto V. The colourful display won a loud appreciation from the parents and guests alike. It was wonderful to see a display of varied colours and hues majestically brought forth by the children on the ground for all to see . Both the days ended on a joyous note with the entire gathering singing the National Anthem.

कृषि, भारतीय पहचान के लिए केंद्र है और एक पेशे से काफी कुछ बढक़र है।’’ आज यहां चंडीगढ़ में सेक्टर 17 स्थित परेड ग्राउंड में सीआईआई एग्रो टेक इंडिया 2018 के 13वें संस्करण का उद्घाटन करने के मौके पर महामहिम राष्ट्रपति राम नाथ कोविंद ने ये बात कही। सीआईआई एग्रो टेक इंडिया 2018, एक प्रमुख कृषि और खाद्य प्रौद्योगिकी मेला, जिसमें देश विदेश की कृषि कंपनियां और किसान हिस्सा ले रहे हैं । इस कार्यक्रम को कृषि उत्सव के तौर पर संदर्भित करते हुए श्री कोविंद ने आयोजन को सफलतापूर्वक आयोजित करने के लिए सीआईआई को भी बधाई दी। भारत के माननीय राष्ट्रपति के अलावा, उद्घाटन समारोह में भारत सरकार के कृषि और किसान कल्याण मंत्री श्री राधा मोहन सिंह; भारत सरकार की खाद्य प्रसंस्करण उद्योग मंत्री श्रीमती हरसिमरत कौर बादल; श्री वी पी सिंह बदनोर, राज्यपाल, पंजाब और प्रशासक, यूटी चंडीगढ़; हरियाणा के गवर्नर श्री सत्यदेव नारायण आर्य; हरियाणा सरकार के मुख्यमंत्री श्री मनोहर लाल खट्टर; श्री राकेश भारती मित्तल, सीआईआई के अध्यक्ष और उपाध्यक्ष भारती एंटरप्राइजेज; श्री अजय एस श्रीराम, चेयरमैन, सीआईआई एग्रो टेक इंडिया 2018 और चेयरमैन एवं वरिष्ठ प्रबंध निदेशक, डीसीएम श्रीराम लिमिटेड; श्री चंद्रजीत बनर्जी, महानिदेशक, सीआईआई; और श्री सचित जैन, चेयरमैन, सीआईआई उत्तरी क्षेत्र और वाइस चेयरमैन और एमडी, वर्धमान स्पेशल स्टील्स लिमिटेड भी उपस्थित थे । उन्होंने कहा कि 158 घरेलू प्रदर्शकों और 37 अंतरराष्ट्रीय प्रदर्शकों की उपस्थिति इस आयोजन के महत्व को दर्शाती है। माननीय राष्ट्रपति ने इस क्षेत्र के समक्ष मौजूद तीन प्रमुख चुनौतियों की भी पहचान की । उन्होंने कहा कि भारतीय कृषि अभी भी प्रौद्योगिकी अपनाने के शुरुआती चरण में है; किसानों के पास मशीनीकृत उपकरणों तक सीमित पहुंच है, अत्याधुनिक उपकरण की बात ही अलग है। हम कृषि में निजी सार्वजनिक साझेदारी को बढ़ाने की जरूरत है। अनुसंधान और विकास में निवेश की आवश्यकता है।उन्होंने े फसल अवशेष के निपटान की समस्या का भी विशेष तौर पर उल्लेख किया । अपने संबोधन में, सीआईआई के अध्यक्ष श्री राकेश भारती मित्तल ने कहा कि ‘‘जैसा कि हमारे किसानों ने खाद्य सुरक्षा के लक्ष्य को पूरा किया है, कृषि को अब धन निर्माण उपकरण के रूप में देखा जाना चाहिए। आज का नए दौर का किसान एक उद्यमी है और सीआईआई किसानों की आमदनी को दोगुना करने के कारण योगदान देने के लिए बहुत कुछ कर रहा है। हमने सरकार को सिफारिश की है कि राज्यों को व्यवसाय करने की आसानी के आधार पर कृषि की आसानता (ईज ऑफ डूइंग एग्रीकल्चर)नामक सूचकांक पर रैंक किया जाए ।’’ मित्तल ने जमीन के दीर्घकालिक पट्टे में सुधार के लिए भी आहवान किया। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रौद्योगिकी को अपनाने वाले किसानों को प्रोत्साहित किया जाए और दूसरी तरफ उपभोक्ता को लाभ पहुंचाने के लिए किसानों और सरकार के प्रयासों को जोड़ा जाए । केंद्रीय खाद्य प्रसंस्करण उद्योग मंत्री श्रीमती हरसिमरत कौर बादल ने कहा कि ‘‘समय आ गया है कि दुनिया और हमारे देश में अधिक लोगों के लिए भोजन सुनिश्चित करने के लिए खाद्य प्रसंस्करण को आगे बढ़ाया जाए। अपने मंत्रालय के अध्ययन के अनुसार, प्रसंस्करण की कमी के लिए लगभग 1 लाख करोड़ रुपए का कृषि उत्पादन बर्बाद हो जाता है। मेरे मंत्रालय ने किसान सम्पदा योजना को प्रमुख सेवन अम्बे्रला स्कीम के तौर पर लॉन्च किया है ।’’ उन्होंने एक नई योजना के बारे में भी बताया कि मंत्रालय खाद्य प्रसंस्करण क्रांति बनाने के लिए विश्व बैंक के साथ साझेदारी कर रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि किसानों को 10 लाख रुपये तक की परियोजनाओं के लिए फंड करने के लिए 3,000 करोड़ रुपए का इस्तेमाल किया जाएगा । उन्होंने कहा कि मंत्रालय खाद्य प्रसंस्करण परियोजनाओं के वित्तपोषण के लिए एक नई वित्त पोषण सिस्टम भी बना रहा था । कृषि और किसान कल्याण मंत्री श्री राधा मोहन सिंह ने सरकार की उपलब्धियों का जिक्र करते हुए कहा कि ‘‘हमने इस क्षेत्र में निवेश को 200 करोड़ रुपए से प्रति वर्ष 450 करोड़ रुपए प्रति वर्ष कर दिया है। हमने इसके लिए विशेष फंड भी बनाए हैं ।’’ गणमान्य व्यक्तियों का स्वागत करते हुए, डीसीएम श्रीराम लिमिटेड के चेयरमैन वरिष्ठ प्रबंध निदेशक श्री अजय एस श्रीराम, और सीआईआई एग्रो टेक इंडिया, 2018 के चेयरमैन, ने कहा कि ‘‘1994 में अपनी स्थापना के बाद, सीआईआई एग्रो टेक ने पूरे विश्व और भारत के कृषि व्यवसाय समुदायों को एक साथ लाया है। सीआईआई एग्रो टेक इंडिया 2018 कृषि के सतत विकास और किसानों की आय को दोगुना करने के लिए नवाचार और प्रौद्योगिकी का लाभ उठाने पर केंद्रित है। 16,000 वर्ग मीटर से अधिक फैले क्षेत्र में, 14 राज्य और आठ देश कृषि प्रौद्योगिकी मेले में भाग ले रहे हैं ।’’ सीआईआई एग्रो टेक इंडिया 2018 किसानों की आमदनी को दोगुना करने के सरकार की दृष्टि से पूरी तरह से सक्रिया है । उन्होंने कहा कि ‘‘विचार यह समझना है कि किसानों से मध्यम अवधि में अपनी आय को दोगुना करने के लिए क्या आवश्यक है। इस कार्यक्रम के दौरान 50,000 से अधिक किसानों से मिलने की उम्मीद है ।’’ कार्यक्रम के अंत में सभी उपस्थित गणमान्य व्यक्तियों का धन्यवाद करते हुए सीआईआई, उत्तर क्षेत्र के अध्यक्ष श्री सचित जैन ने कहा कि ‘‘बाजार के संबंधों के साथ प्रौद्योगिकी का उपयोग टिकाऊ कृषि की कुंजी है। सीआईआई पंजाब में पराली को जलाने से रोकने के लिए एक पायलट परियोजना पर काम कर रहा है । माननीय राष्ट्रपति के सपनों को पूरा करने और पूरा करने के समय हम इसे आगे ले जाएंगे ।’’

Farming is central to Indian identity and is more than a profession,” said President Ram Nath Kovind, as he inaugurated the 13th CII Agro Tech India 2018, a premier Agri and Food Technology Fair, at the Parade Ground in Chandigarh on Saturday. Referring the event as a celebration of agriculture, Shri Kovind also congratulated CII for organizing the event successfully. Apart from the Hon’ble President of India, the inaugural function was attended by Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India; Smt Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Minister for Food Processing Industries, Government of India; Shri V P Singh Badnore, Governor, Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh;  Shri Satyadeo Narain Arya, Governor, Haryana; Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister, Government of Haryana; Mr Rakesh Bharti Mittal, President, CII and Vice Chairman, Bharti Enterprises; Mr Ajay S Shriram, Chairman, CII Agro Tech India 2018 and Chairman & Senior MD, DCM Shriram Ltd; Mr Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII; and Mr Sachit Jain, Chairman, CII Northern Region and Vice Chairman & MD, Vardhman Special Steels Ltd. While mentioning that the presence of 158 domestic exhibitors and 37 international exhibitors depicts the importance of the event, Hon’ble President identified three key challenges being faced by the sector. “Indian agriculture is still at an early stage of technology adoption; farmers have limited access to mechanized equipment, let alone cutting-edge tools. We need private public partnerships to come up. Investments are required in Research and Development”, he pointed out. He also referred to the problem of disposal of crop residue. In his address, Mr Rakesh Bharti Mittal, President, CII said, “As our farmers have met the goal of food security, farming should now be seen as a wealth creation tool. Today’s new age farmer is an entrepreneur and CII is doing a lot to contribute to the cause of doubling the farmers’ income.  We have recommended to the government that states be ranked on an index called ‘Ease of Doing Agriculture’ on the lines of the Ease of Doing Business.” Mr Mittal also called for reforms in long-term leasing of land, incentivizing farmers who adopt technology and how to synergise farmers and government’s efforts to ultimately benefiting the consumer at the other end. Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Smt Harsimrat Kaur Badal said, “The time is now ripe for food processing to ensure food for more people in the world and in our country. According to my own Ministry’s study, around Rs1 lakh crore worth of agri-produce is wasted for lack of processing. My Ministry had launched KISAN SAMPADA YOJANA as the prime seven umbrella scheme.” She informed the gathering of a new scheme that the ministry is partnering with the World Bank to create a food processing revolution. “Rs 3,000 crore will be used to fund farmers for projects up to Rs 10 lakh each,” she added. The ministry, she added, was also creating a new funding mechanism to finance food processing projects. Recounting the achievements of the government, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Radha Mohan Singh said, “We have doubled the investment in the sector to around Rs 450 crore per year from Rs 200 crore previously. We have also created corpus funds.” Welcoming the dignitaries, Mr Ajay S Shriram, chairman and senior managing director, DCM Shriram Ltd, and chairman, CII Agro Tech India, 2018, said, “Since its inception in 1994, CII Agro Tech has brought together agribusiness communities from all around the world. The CII Agro Tech India 2018 focuses on leveraging innovation and technology for sustainable development of agriculture and doubling farmers’ income. Spread over 16,000 sq m of space, 14 states and eight countries are participating in the agri technology fair.” The CII Agro Tech India 2018 is fully aligned with the government’s vision of doubling the farmers’ income. “ The idea is to understand what is required from farmers to double their income in the medium term. Over 50,000 farmers are expected to visit us during the event,” he added. Thanking all the dignitaries present, Mr SACHIT JAIN, Chairman, CII, Northern Region said, “Application of technology with linkages to market is the key to sustainable agriculture. CII is working on a pilot project to tackle stubble burning in Punjab. We will take it forward in the times to come and fulfill the dreams of Hon’ble President.”
