Youth Congress Committee took out a Silent Protest march at Sector 38 Dadumajra to protest recent incidents of rape against minors in Different part of india. Party leaders Sunil yadav &Yinayak bangia said women were not safe in today’s environment as incidence of crimes against the fairer sex had shown a sharp rise. They said the BJP government had failed to put an end to rapes and other crimes against women in the country. They demanded death sentence for the all rapists and action against cops showing slackness in investigation.  The Annual Production “Beyond Smile” of  Department of Indian Theatre, Panjab University, Chandigarh, was inaugurated by Prof. Shankarji Jha, Dean University Instruction, here today at the Studio- Theatre of the Department. The play will also be on 8th and 9th May, 2018 as well at 6.30 pm.  ‘Beyond Smile’ depicts a plethora of humanitarian Crisis across the globe.  It portrays the crisis of Syrian civil war, Rohingya Refugees, farmers suicide and violence against women in India. The play explored the malevolent side of human and compels us to think where we are heading. Prof.
     Navdeep Kaur, Chairperson, informed that every year the students come up with annual play production and this year it has been directed by Sangeet Natak Award winning Director Sh. Probir Guha. His work with the students in the last 25 days has brought an immensely powerful piece of thought provoking art that reflects  today’s reality.  Sh. Probir Guha said that his theatre is inexpensive but not compromising with art. This he learnt from his tradition. He believes in Poor Theatre. Here poverty is his property. It teaches him to understand a magical make believe world. It is the strength of his theatre. He believe more in process, less in product. According to him, this 25 days exercises is termed as "Production Process". He informed that the right from the selection of theme, making compositions, choreography, improvisations, costume and light design even the name of the play -all credit goes to students.  The participants on stage:- Aanand Priya, Jatin Sharma, Nikhil  Nikhlesh, Mohit Mehra, Pardeep Giri, JashanJit Singh, Atulya Manoj, Suneedhi Sharma, Amaninder Pal Singh, Ashiya Madaar, Shailesh Kumar, Ankit Singh, Navneet Kaur, Abhishek Arya, Harsangeet Grewal & Kanishk. The participants off stage for Lights were Deep Singh, Aditya Pandita & Ranjit Kumar. युवा कांग्रेस आईटी सेल संयोजक आरती के नेतृत्व में महिलाओं ने केंद्र सरकार पर बलात्कारियों का संरक्षण देने के आरोप लगाए हैं । इसके विरोध में महिलाओं ने मुंह पर काली पट्टी बांधकर सेक्टर 38 डडू-मजरा में प्रदर्शन किया और बलात्कारियों को कड़ी सजा देने की मांग उठाई। युवा नेता सुनील यादव व विनायक बंगिया ने कहा कि केंद्र की भाजपा सरकार बलात्कारियों को  संरक्षण दे रही है। भाजपा विधायक एक घटना में शामिल है तो वहीं दूसरी ओर हिंदू-मुस्लिम के नाम पर समाज को बांटा जा रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि बलात्कारियों को कड़ी सजा मिलनी चाहिए और मोदी सरकार को इन मामलों में अपनी चुप्पी तोड़ते हुए साफ  करना चाहिए कि आखिर क्यों बच्चियों के रेप और महिलाओं के खिलाफ हो रहे अत्याचार पर भाजपा मौन है। उन्होंने कहा कि आज महिलाओं की सुरक्षा प्राथमिकता होनी चाहिए लेकिन भाजपा की सरकार में हालात बद्द से बदत्तर हो रहे हैं। बच्चियों को निशाना बनाया जा रहा है, महिलाओं की सुरक्षा दांव पर है और प्रधानमंत्री विदेश यात्राओं में व्यस्त हैं। इस अवसर जनरल सेक्रेटरी  जानू मालिकखुस्भू, चंचल, पूजा, बबिता, सीमा, परविंदर, सौरव, सुनीता, विशाल, पवन, हरमन, दीपक, दलजीत, जस्सी, सुमित. सहित अन्य उपस्थित रहे।

coordination committee of Government and employees and workers UT Chandigarh submitted demand charter to the administrator UT Chandigarh Shri VP Singh badnore regarding revoking of ceiling on compassionate appointment. Ashwani Kumar convenor coordination committee pointed out that Chandigarh administration on the direction of Government of India has imposed a ceiling of 5% of the total vacancies on compassionate appointment it is worth mentioned here that the employees of Chandigarh administration are being governed by services condition of Punjab government and no ceiling on compassionate appointment in Punjab that hundreds of dependents of deceased employees are suffering for the maintenance of their livelihood as no person is there in the family to feed so demanding revoking  of ceiling on compassionate appointment and  grant the job on compassionate ground to the deceased family members.

   The 8th Annual Convocation and 11th Prize Distribution Function were held in Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 50, Chandigarh today. Sh. R.K Popli, PCS,  Director Public Relations and Registering & Licencing Authority, Chandigarh Administration (U.T.) Chandigarh was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He congratulated the graduates and prize winners and applauded the efforts for the holistic development of the students. He highlighted the role of life skills and value system to be an achiever at work place which is more important than only receiving academic degrees. 
Principal of the College Dr. Manjit Kaur presented the Annual Report of the college highlighting the achievements of the students during the session 2017-18.  Prof. (Dr) Rosy Walia, Dean, presented the students of M.COM, B.COM and BBA for award of Degrees to the graduates. Around 212 degrees were awarded to the students of M.COM, B.COM (Hons in Management Studies and Economics), B.Com (pass course) and BBA. Vice Principal Amarpreet Singh Sijher announced the names of the prize winners who have excelled in the fields of academics and co-curricular activities during the year. Four students were awarded Roll of Honour in the field of Academics, Sports and Cultural Activities. In all 28 students were awarded College Colour and 130 students were awarded Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievements in academics, sports, NSS and co-curricular activities
