PU VC INTERACTS WITH PROFESSORS

Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University held an online interaction with the Professors of PU.
At the outset, while appreciating the stature of Panjab University, he urged
all to work collectively towards achieving top rating of NAAC and sought
cooperation of all in this endeavour by updating databases, informing
achievements, keeping documentary evidence for evaluation etc. PU VC also advised
faculty members to work towards interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary research,
write new projects, new start-ups, start a PhD in a completely new research
area, think on innovative ideas and get patents. While doing this,he
motivated all to keep in mind the requirements of PU , the Govt policy and the
global perspective.Apart from this, social initiatives should be taken up by
each department. In the interest of PU, he stated that very soon all labs will
be integrated. PU VC urged all to
collaborate with the Industry/ Corporate Sector for better research work. He
further shared that PU is creating a data bank related to
projects/innovations/patents/citations of the faculty for consideration of
suitable awards to them. The suggestions were taken from the senior
officials and the faculty members present in the meeting which included
Dean International Students,Prof Anju Suri, Prof Anupama Sharma, Dean
Alumni Relations, Prof Anuradha, IQAC, Prod Indu Pal Kaur, Chairperson
UIPS, Dr KNSingh Chairman, Deptt of Chemistry. Earlier, Prof V R Sinha,
DUI in his welcome address, appreciated the support of PU VC in all matters
related to the overall growth of the campus. He urged all to open all lines of
communication for better coordination in the interest of students. Prof. Anuradha
Sharma-Associate Director, IQAC informed that NAAC visit is due in
early next year and we should be ready for getting the highest rating of the
NAAC. She requested that all faculty members should report their achievements,
lectures delivered, public lectures, projects, patents etc. to their respective
departmental IQAC cells for updating the same on the IRB portal. She requested
sharing of all information which can help in getting PU a better
NAAC score. It was also requested to report all the non-academic
activities, if happened, between Mentee-Mentor institutes as well as to inform
all the programs organised or attended under IIC. Prof Indu suggested that the young researchers be educated regarding patent
research and in identifying research gap before taking up any research subject.
To help in improving the perception of the university, all
activities/achievements be posted on social media platforms of respective
departments. More than 200 Professors and senior officials
participated in the meeting and also gave suggestions on various aspects of
improvement in the university.
