Swachchta Pakhwara 2018-2019 started in the college with a talk on cleanliness and personal hygiene by Dr. Savneet Kaur, Psychologist.  NSS volunteers and College students participated in the talk which focused on correct hand washing technique by WHO. The lecture was followed by Swachchta Oath. College Principal Dr. Jatinder Kaur encouraged the students to follow hygiene in their daily routine for healthy lifestyle.

    The Swachh Bharat Summer Internship (SBSI) 2018 of Air wing NCC cadets of PGGC-11, Chandigarh under the aegis of Chandigarh Air Sqn NCC which had commenced on July 5, 2018 under the supervision of Dr. Rakesh Thakur, Caretaker Airwing NCC and Nodal Officer SBSI, PGGC-11 concluded here on Wednesday at Panchyat Ghar, Vil. Behlana, Chandigarh (UT).

Led by Sarpanch Smt. Mohinder Kaur, Panch Devraj Sharma and other panchayat members of Gram Panchayat vill.Behlana expressed their appreciation to 30 cadets of NCC Air wing of PGGC-11 for completing more than 4000 man hours of cleanliness and awareness drive in village.

            The function was graced by Brigadier RS Thakur, Group Commander NCC, Chandigarh, who with panchayat members presented the mementoes to the deserving cadets of NCC Air wing. Dr. Rakesh Thakur, Nodal Officer of Swachh Bharat Summer Internship (SBSI) for NCC Airwing summarized the activities undertaken for the whole duration of Internship. The cadets were led by three team leaders namely Cadet Sergeant Shiva Vasan, Cadet Sergeant AmitRamola and Cadet Warrant Officer Somalica Sharma. During the internship, cadets undertook awareness drives, door to door campaign, Cleanliness of Cremation ground and Religious shrines. The cadets along with villagers conducted Tree Plantation drive. BCC (Behaviour Change Communication) of each student studying in Govt. Senior Secondary School, Behlana. The young children were counseled on Oral& Personal Hygiene alongwithCommunity Cleaning. 

Brigadier RS Thakur, Group Commander NCC, Chandigarh, applauded the efforts of the NCC Cadets of PGGC-11 for their dedicated and sincere efforts in cleaning the village and spreading awareness among the masses.The valedictory function was presided over by Commanding Officer 1 Chandigarh Air Sqn. NCC Wing commander M R Pandeya who appreciated the efforts of the students and the helping nature of the villagers, especially the Sarpanch Mrs Mohinder kaur and Panch Devraj Sharma who helped in making the 100+ hour cleanliness drive a huge success and hoped that the ball which has been set rolling would acquire mega proportions

The Punjab Kala Parishad today transformed into reality the dream of the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister, Punjab, Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu to have a cultural parliament. The Parishad today established ‘Punjab Cultural Mission’ with the aim to connect the youth with the extremely rich and glorious cultural heritage of Punjab. The decision was taken here today at Punjab Kala Bhawan at sector-16 in a meeting of intellectuals presided over by the Chairman of the Punjab Kala Parishad Padamshri Dr. Surjit Patar. The responsibility of being the Director of the mission has been entrusted to noted singer Pammi Bai.

     Disclosing this, an official spokesman said that the Punjab Cultural Mission would work from the level of the headquarter to the village level so as to connect the youth with the rich cultural and historical heritage of Punjab. The mission has 14 members hailing from the art, cultural and literary fields. The members include Dr. Surjit Patar, Secretary General of the Punjab Kala Parishad Dr. Lakhwinder Singh Johal, noted choreographer Principal Inderjit Singh, Senior Journalist Satnam Singh Manak, noted actor Gurpreet Ghuggi, famous singer Sukhi Brar, Dr. Nirmal Jaura, Dr. Jasbir Kaur Rishi, Ninder Ghugianvi, Dr. Surjit (Patiala), Dr. Gursewak Lambi (Patiala), Yadwinder Sidhu and Ashok Bansal.

    The spokesman further said that the main aim of the mission to start such a strong renaissance in Punjab which would boost the healthy and moral traditions of the society besides connecting youth with fine arts, and moral values . The mission would cover all the villages in the state through appointment of the district level conveners.

चंडीगढ़नौजवान पीढ़ी को पंजाब की समृद्ध विरासत और सभ्याचार के साथ जोडऩे और स्वस्थ समाज सृजन करने के लिए पर्यटन व सांस्कृतिक मामलों के मंत्री स. नवजोत सिंह सिद्धू द्वारा ‘सभ्याचार पार्लियामेंट’ सृजन करने के सपने को साकार करते हुए पंजाब कला परिषद द्वारा ‘पंजाब सभ्याचारक मिशन’ की स्थापना की गई है । यह फ़ैसला आज यहाँ सैक्टर 16 स्थित पंजाब कला भवन में परिषद के चेयरमैन डा. सुरजीत पातर की अध्यक्षता अधीन पंजाब के कलाकारों और बुद्धिजीवियों की हुई मीटिंग में लिया गया । इस मिशन का डायरैक्टर प्रसिद्ध गायक परमजीत सिंह सिद्धू ‘पंमी बाई’ को बनाया गया है ।

पंजाब कला परिषद द्वारा दी गई जानकारी के अनुसार आज हुई मीटिंग में सांस्कृतिक मामलों के मंत्री द्वारा राज्य में स्वस्थ सभ्याचारिक लहर खड़ी करने के सपनों को स्वीकृत करने के लिए ‘पंजाब सभ्याचारक मिशन’ की स्थापना करने का फ़ैसला किया गया जो मुख्य कार्यालय से गाँव तक काम करके नौजवानों को अपने साथ जोड़ेगा । लोक गायकी और लोक नाचों के मुखी पंमीबाई के नेतृत्व तहत बने इस मिशन में कुल 14 मैंबर लिए गए हैं जो कला, साहित्य, सभ्याचार क्षेत्रों के माहिर हैं । इन सदस्यों में पंजाब कला परिषद के चेयरमैन डा. सुरजीत पातर और सचिव जनरल डा. लखविन्दर सिंह जौहल, प्रसिद्ध नृत्य निर्देशक प्रिंसिपल इन्द्रजीत सिंह, सीनियर पत्रकार सतनाम सिंह मानक, गुरप्रीत सिंह घुग्गी, प्रसिद्ध लोक गायक सुखी बराड़, डा. निर्मल जोढ़ा, डा. जसबीर कौर रिशी, निन्दर घुग्याणवी, डा. सुरजीत (पटियाला), डा. गुरसेवक लम्बी (पटियाला), यादविन्दर सिद्धू और अशोक बांसल शामिल हैं । प्रवक्ता ने बताया कि ‘पंजाब सभ्याचारक मिशन’ का मुख्य मकसद पंजाब में ऐसी सभ्याचारिक लहर पैदा करना है जो स्वस्थ मूल्यों को प्रफुलित करे । पंजाब के नौजवानों को अच्छे संस्कार देने और अच्छी गायकी और कोमल कलाओं को उत्साहित करने का उद्देश्य लेकर आगे बढ़े । पंजाब सभ्याचारिक मिशन द्वारा जिला स्तर पर कनवीनर बना के पंजाब के सभी गाँवों को अपने अधीन लिया जायेगा ।

भारतीय उद्योग परिसंघ द्वारा पंजाब इंजीनियरिंग कॉलेज के सहयोग से सीआईआई उत्तरी क्षेत्र मुख्यालय में माईक्रोसोफ्ट ऑफिस 2016 में ओप्टियम यूटिलाईजेशन तथा एडवांस एक्सेल निंजाविषय पर हैंड्स ऑन सर्टिफाईड ट्रेनिंग कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गयाl इस कार्यशाला का आयोजन एमएस एक्सेल के सभी स्तरों की जानकारी तथा एक्सेल के एडवांस लेवल के बारेमेंजानकारी उपलब्ध करवाना था ताकि सूचना एकत्रित करने की एफिसिएंसी को बढ़ाया जा सके माईक्रोसॉफ्ट सर्टिफाईड ट्रेनर तथा माईक्रोसॉफ्ट ऑफिस स्पेशलिस्ट व माईक्रोसॉफ्ट 365 ट्रेनर रितु अरोड़ा तथा पंजाब इंजीनियरिंग कॉलेज की यंग व डायनामिक टीम ने इस दौरान कार्यशाल मेंसभी को  संबोधित किया इस दौरान दी गई ट्रेनिंग ने कार्यशाला में मौजूद कर्मचारियों केा अपने कार्य को अतिरिक्त दक्षता के साथ पूरा करने में मदद की इस दौरान कार्यशाल में एम.एस.ऑफिस मेंमौजूद ऑप्शन को समझने में मदद की और साथ ही एम.एस.वर्ड, एक्सेल, पावर प्वाइंट व आऊट लूक को समझने में मदद करने के साथ ही प्रोडक्टिविटी बढ़ाने, डाटा  एनालाईज करने औरडिसिजन मेकिंग पावर को बढ़ाने के लिए ट्रेनिंग दी गई   इस अवसर पर रितु अरोड़ा ने कहा कि एम.एस. ऑफिस को समझने का सबसे बढ़ा फायदा यह है कि इससे हमेफ्लैसिबिलिटी मिलती है इन सभी प्रोग्राम को समझकर  सभी प्रतिभागियों को नकेवल फ्लैक्सिबिलिटी मिलगी बल्कि साथ ही वे अपनी दक्षता को बढ़ाकर अपनी परफॉरमेंस में सुधार कर सकते हैं एम.एस. ऑफिस वर्कफ्लो को   इस तरह तैयार कर सकता है कि कर्मचारीअपनी कंपनी को अधिकतम एफिसिऐंसी  पर लेकर जा   सकता है ।

    गांव दड़़ुआ में आए दिन महिलाओं एवं वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के साथ घरों में सम्मान न किए जाने की शिकायतें पंचायत के पास आ रही हैं, इसी के चलते गाँव दड़ुआ में एक नई पहल की शुरुआत की जिन्हें दूर करने के लिए सरपंच गुरप्रीत सिंह हैप्पी की अध्यक्षता में एक बैठक बुलाई गई l बैठक  में समस्या पर विचार विमर्श किया गया । बैठक में इन शिकायतों को दूर करने के लिए एक नई पहल करते हुए पंचायत की निगरानी में एक महिला टीम गठित करने का निर्णय लिया गया l जोकि घर-घर जाकर समस्याओं को निपटाने का काम करेगी और जरूरत पडऩे पर पुलिस की भी सहायता ली जाएगी । इस कमेटी में गुरदेव कौर, मंजीत कौर, पूनम वर्मा, कुलंवत कौर, जानकी शर्मा ऊर्फ पूजा, निर्मल कौर, कमलेश गोयल, विमल देवी व जसवंत कौर शामिल हैं । इस कमेटी के गठन की सूचना बीडीपीओ कार्यालय, एसडीएम ईस्ट कार्यालय व दड़ुआ चौकी में भी दी गई है ।

Education Department, UT Chandigarh through Inclusive Education Component distributes supportive aids and appliances to children with disabilities enrolled in the Govt. schools or being covered under Home based education. 52 children with disabilities were provided various aids and appliance like Hearing aids, Crutches, Wheel chairs, MSIED kit, Roletors, AFO, KAFO, prosthetics free of cost in collaboration with ALIMCO (Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India) in a function organized at GGMSSS-18. The appliances have been distributed to CWSN with an aim of mainstreaming & retention of these children in inclusive set up. Dy. Director School Education Smt. Saroj Mittal presided over the function. Mission Coordinator (SSA) Smt. Alka Mehta, Principal GMSSS-22 Sh. Rajiv & Principal GGMSSS-18 Smt. Raj Bala also graced the occasion. CWSN having various physical and mental handicaps were assessed by Medical teams from GMCH-32 and Team from Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) for providing the required assistive devices.

    Smt. Saroj Mittal motivated the parents and children, distributed aids and appliances, interacted with the children and their parents urging them to think beyond their disability. She also put in a word of praise for ALIMCO for joining hands with the Education Department in this noble cause. Principal GGMSSS-18 Mrs. Raj Bala extended vote of thanks and further said that it is sincerely hoped and prayed that this support will make their life easier and they will be make great strides in life and reach the pinnacle of success.
