टैगोर थिएटर के डायरेक्टर कुलदीप शर्मा के खिलाफ शहर के कलाकारों का गुस्सा बढ़ता जा रहा है l कलाकार गौरव शर्मा  ने बताया कि हमने डायरेक्टर कल्चर अफेयर से मांग की है कि डायरेक्टर कुलदीप शर्मा को पद से हटाया जाए l कलाकारों ने मंगलवार को डायरेक्टर कल्चर अफेयर जितेंद्र यादव से मुलाकात भी की गौरव ने बताया कि हमने डायरेक्टर कल्चर अफेयर के साथ बातचीत की है l वहीं जितेंद्र यादव ने हमारा पक्ष सुनने के बाद कहा कि वह इस मुद्दे पर कुलदीप शर्मा का भी पक्ष सुनेंगे, जिसके बाद ही इसे लेकर कोई फैसला लिया जाएगा l कुछ दिन पहले कलाकारों ने कुलदीप शर्मा के खिलाफ टैगोर थिएटर में मनमानी और रूल - रैगुलेशन को भी कुछ कलाकारों तक ही सीमित रखने के आरोप लगाए थे l मामला पुलिस तक भी पहुंच गया l इसके बाद सभी कलाकारों ने एकजुट होकर डायरेक्टर कल्चर अफेयर से कुलदीप शर्मा को डायरैक्टर के पद से हटाने की मांग की है l

As part of the World Asthma Day, the department of Biochemistry, Panjab 

University had invited Prof. D. Behera, PGIMER, Chandigarh to deliver a talk. Prof. 

Behera highlighted the prevalence and causes of this disease which one has to live 

with. He emphasised that awareness in form of such activities as being carried out  by Prof. Archana Bhatnagar, Department of Biochemistry, are very much needed. Prof. Bhatnagar informed that the research scholars of the department have performed a street play for school children and which will be enacted on May 3rd at Student Center of Panjab university at 1 pm. Prof. Behera also gave an important message 

that young people should not hide the fact that they are suffering from Asthma. This stigma should be removed as it is an allergy which can be managed with various methods as prescribed by the physician.

Alumni of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women took a walk down the corridors of nostalgia on May 02, 2018 as the College organized an Alumni Meet. The event was a great opportunity for the alumni to reconnect with their old friends, batch mates, and teachers. It further provided a platform for the students to share their success stories and continue to strengthen their bond with the College. The Alumni Association created the verve of the days gone by as the alumnus were teary eyed at meeting their teachers and revisiting the campus.

     A cultural event was organized for the Alumni, wherein they joined with students in playing games and made the day memorable for them. Dr Jatinder Kaur, Principal of the College graced the occasion. Dr. Reena Parti, Convener Alumni Association extended the vote of thanks and urged the alumni to form an association that can work towards community service.

चंडीगढ़ पुलिस ट्रेनिंग सेंटर में  तीन दिवसीय योग  वर्कशॉप  का सफल आयोजन  दिनाक 30  अप्रैल से 02 मई,2018 योग इंडिया फाउंडेशन भारत दवाराकिया गया। ये जानकारी योग इंडिया फाउंडेशन की कोऑर्डिनेटर डॉ. प्रीती गोयल द्वारा दी गयी। योग वर्कशॉप में योग गुरु नरेश शर्मा (प्रेसिड्ट) योग इंडियाफाउंडेशन भारत ने विभिन आसनो अथवा योग निद्रा का अभ्यास करवाया एवं योग आचार्य श्री रमन शर्मा, वर्किंग इन पंजाब यूनिवर्सिटी द्वारा प्राणायाम एवं धयानद्वारा प्रैक्टिसकरवाई गयीlइस वर्कशॉप में 300 के लगभग पुलिस कर्मचारियों ने  भाग लिया सभी ने इस वर्कशॉप का लाभ का उठाया. योग वर्कशॉप में योग द्वारा कैसे Physically, Mentally,Socially,healthy रह सकते है इस बारे में विस्तार से बताया गया. सभी पुलिस कर्मचारी इस वर्कशॉप से काफी लाभवान्वित हुए l

The Animal Husbandry Department U.T. Chandigarh organised an ‘ANIMAL HEALTH CAMP AND KISAN GOSTHI’ today at village Khuda Lahora, U.T. Chandigarh on the eve of “Farmers Welfare Day”(Kisan Kalyaan Diwas) The Camp was presided over by Capt Karnail Singh, Director Animal Husbandry. In his address he appealed the farmers to adopt scientific practices of Animal Husbandry by keeping quality animals to increase their income. He also appealed them to coordinate with Animal Husbandry Department for attaining maximum benefits out of various Govt. Schemes. and this occasion Dr. Yashwant Singh, Deputy Director Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mohali, Punjab delivered a key note address on the subject of doubling farmers income through adopting various scientific methods of Animal Husbandry practices. The Veterinary Officers of the department also spoke on various topics like Animal Health Care, Animal Nutrition and Dairy Farming Management and also interacted with livestock owner on the issues concerning them.  

      Dr Kanwarjit Singh, Joint Director, Animal Husbandry revealed that this program has been organized to promote social harmony, reach out to poor rural households, obtain feedback on ongoing programmes, enrol in new initiatives, focus on doubling farmers income, enhance livelihood opportunities in regard to adoption of latest Animal Husbandry practices in Chandigarh. 

Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare is celebrating 2^nd May 2018 as “Farmers Welfare Day” for disseminating information regarding interventions relating to development of Animal Husbandry Dairying and Fisheries to Farmers, Self Help Groups, Individuals etc for doubling the income of farmers by 2020, through organizing Awareness Camps etc. The Camp was attended by large number of progressive dairy farmers, self help groups, member of nearby village panchayat and public.

Chandigarh, The 65th Annual Prize giving function of PGGC 11 was celebrated with great fervour and zeal. Sh. Ajoy Kumar Sinha, IAS, Secretary Finance, Chandigarh Administration, was the chief guest and Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar , PCS, Director of higher education, was the guest of honour in the function.

The chief guest gave away prizes to stellar achievers among which 49 students were given Roll of Honour for their distinction in various fields like Academics, NCC, NSS, Cultural Activities, blood donation and Sports. 169 students were awarded College Colour for their outstanding performance in Academics, NCC, Sports, Cultural Activities, Blood Donation and efficient supervision of student council. Merit Certificates for Academic Achievements in their respective subjects were awarded to 375 students. Sh. Ajoy Kumar Sinha  encouraged the students to enjoy their achievements. He assured on opening of the first of its kind recruitment cell in the college.Sh. Rubinderjit  Singh Brar, PCS stressed at the importance of education and the role of teachers in nurturing the young minds.

     Sanjay Tandon gave special cash prize of 11000rupees to Rohit Kumar(BA3) for his special achievement in NSS and he was also honoured with Late. Captain Rohit Kaushal achievement award.

कोआर्डिनेशन कमेटी ऑफ गवर्नमेंट एंड एमसी  इंप्लाइज एंड वर्कर्स यूटी चंडीगढ़ इस बार मजदूर दिवस 1 मई को सेक्टर 37 वाटर वर्क्स में बड़ी धूमधाम से मनाया l झंडा फहराया, शिकांगो के शहीदों को सलाम किया और श्रद्धांजलि  अर्पित की गई l  जिन्होंने निश्चय किया था कि मजदूर 8 घंटे से ज्यादा काम नहीं करेगे और और जिसके लिए उन्होंने हड़ताल की और हाकम सरकार ने उन पर गोलियां बरसाई और बहुत सारे मजदूर मारे गए अश्वनी कुमार कन्वीनर ने कहा कि हम चंडीगढ़ में यहां रेगुलर मुलाजिमों की लड़ाई लड़ रहे हैं वही  चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन  कॉन्ट्रैक्ट पर काम करने वाले मुलाजिम का  शोषण कर रहे है उनके लिए कंप्रेहैंसिव सुरक्षित पॉलिसी बनाने के लिए और समान काम समान वेतन के लिए और लेबर लॉ लागू करने के लिए लगातार संघर्ष कर रहे हैं क्योंकि चंडीगढ़ के जो मुलाजिम कॉन्ट्रैक्ट पर काम कर रहे हैं और जो वेतन ले रहे हैं वो भी चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन कम करने की कोशिश कर रहा है पर कोआर्डिनेशन कमेटी अपना संघर्ष जारी रखेगी  और  चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन से मांग करते हैं कि मजदूर दिवस  पर 1 मई को छुट्टी घोषित की जाए| समाप्ति के बाद कोआर्डिनेशन कमेटी का 1 वफात अश्विनी कुमार कन्वीनर की अगुवाई में डिप्टी कमिश्नर श्री अजीत बालाजी जोशी IAS को मिला मांग पत्र सौंपा मांग पत्र में मांग की गई कि 2018 19 का डीसी रेट बढ़ाया जाए कंडक्टर कैटेगिरी को फोर्थ क्लास से 3 क्लास में लाया जाए और सुरक्षा कर्मचारियों घटाया गया वेतन फिर बढ़ाया जाए| मुलाजिमों को जसवंत सिंह मलकीत सिंह सुखविंदर सिंह कमल कुमार चरणजीत सिंह श्रवण कुमार सतींदर सिंह एस रंधावा मामराज करनैल सिंह अनिल कुमार आदि ने संबोधित किया|

Department of Hindi, Panjab University today organized 'Rukhsat 2018' the farewell ceremony for it's M.A. fourth semester students. The students of the Department presented a cultural program and brought together the folk dances like Gidda, Himachali Naati and Rajasthani folk dance. The chief guest for the event was Dr. Irshad Kamil. He awarded 26 meritorious students  with various scholarships. Also, he presented the special scholarship as a tribute to his mother Begum Iqbal to the meritorious students Divya and Manjinder. The Department presented Irshad Kamil with his portrait as a souvenir. chairperson of Hindi dept Dr Gurmeet Singh informed that the highlight of the program was participation from a number of alumni of the department. The judges panel comprised famous choreographer Preeti Arora , budding actor  Satish Yadav and transgender activist Dhananjay.

   रुख़सत 18 का आयोजन हिंदी-विभाग द्वारा भौतिक विज्ञान सभागार में किया गया। जिसमें एम. ए. चतुर्थ समेस्टर के विद्यार्थियों को विदाई दी गई। विद्यार्थियों द्वारा इस अवसर पर सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया, जिसमें गिद्दा, हिमाचली नाटी और राजस्थानी नृत्य प्रस्तुत किए गए। इस समारोह में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में डॉ. इरशाद कामिल ने शिरकत किया। उन्होंने 26 मेधावी विद्यार्थियों को विभिन्न छात्रवृति के चैक वितरित किए। साथ ही अपनी माँ बेगम इकबाल बानो की स्मृति में आरंभ की गई छात्रवृत्ति दिव्या और मनजिंदर को प्रदान की। इरशाद कामिल को  स्मृति चिन्ह के रूप में उनका एक पोर्ट्रेट विभाग की ओर से अध्यक्ष डॉ गुरमीत सिंह ने भेंट किया।  इस कार्यक्रम की प्रमुख विशेषता यह रही कि इसमें पूर्व विद्यार्थियों की भी काफी हिस्सेदारी रही। कार्यक्रम में निर्णायक मंडल के रूप में प्रीती अरोड़ा (मशहूर कोरियोग्राफर), सतीश यादव (अभिनेता) और धनंजय चौहान मंगलमुखी  (थर्ड जेंडर कार्यकर्ता) शामिल हुए।

NCERT organised a State Level Competition called Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan 2017 which is India’s Largest Science Talent Search for new India Digital Devices. Harsh Jakhar of class IX B from Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh got the distinction of being ranked first in the competition. The young achiever was awarded with a Merit Certificate and a Cash Prize of Rs-5000/-. Sr. Principal Mrs. Vineeta Arora felicitated Harsh in the Morning Assembly.

Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competition was organised for the students of classes IX to XII which brought out the Best Out of Students and class teachers working as a cohesive unit intent only on winning. Class Bulletin Boards were vibrantly done up and depicted the topic- ‘ Earth is my Temple ’. The posters were judged on the basis of relevance to the topic, originality and presentation. A Face Painting and Tattoo Making Competition for classes IX to XII was also organised as part of the celebrations. The results of the competitions are as follows:

 Classes IX-X – Class X C bagged the first position while X B stood second and Class X E came third. Classes XI-XII- Class XI C1 won the first position, XI A1 and XII A came second and XI C2 secured third position.

Face Painting and Tattoo Making Competition

Classes XI-XII- In the Face Painting Competition, Saumya Seth and Sanya Seth of XI C3 bagged the first position. Jahnavi and Aakriti of XII C3 came second. The third position went to Muskaan Jain and Muskaan Khurana  of XI C1 and Aprajita and Kriti of XI A1. Classes IX- X- Harshit and Gauransh of X B and Ananya and Arushi of X D shared the first position while second position was bagged by Ashish and Ananya of IX E. The third position went to Iha and Aradhya of X A.

Classes XI-XII- In the Tattoo Making Competition, Aastha and Shreya of XI C1 came first. Nikita and Aeshna of XI A2 bagged the second position and the third position went to Rubani and Gaurisha of XII C2. Classes IX-X- Asmi and Vanshika of IX E bagged the first position while Riti and Manarpan of IX A came second. Kriti and Devika of X D came third.

The Municipal Corporation , Chandigarh organized a free Medical Health check up camp for the Safaikarmcharis  at Civil Dispensary, Sector 8, here today on the occasion of International Labour Day under the theme "Sanitation workers-Hamare Swachhata Sainik". The camp was inaugurated by Davesh Moudgil, Mayor of Chandigarh in presence of Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Dr. Saurabh  Mishra, IAS, Sh. Mahesh Inder Singh, area councillor, Ms. Shipra Bansal, Sh. Dalip Sharma, councillors of MCC, Dr. Poonam, Dr. Sarvdeep Kaur and Dr. P.S. Bhatti, Medical Officer of Health, MCC. During the camp medical tests of nearly 494 persons including Safaikarmacharis have been done.

     The Mayor said that these type of camps will be organised regularly so that the safaikarmacharis & Door to Door Collectors can get themselves medically checked and treated free of cost. He said that the MCC is working in the field of uniting workers for social and economic advancement. Dr. Sarvdeep Kaur (Medical Incharge Civil Dispensary 8), Dr. Rupam (Dental Surgeon Civil Dispensary 8), Doctors from Primary Health MCC, and other prominent persons were present during the inauguration of camp. During the camp general public has been sensitised about adoption of healthy lifestyle including healthy food and importance of physical activity.

The Chandigarh-Punjab Union of Journalists (CPUJ) organized a rally at Sector – 17 Plaza to mark the May Day and to recall sacrifices of the people who gave up their lives for the cause of working class. On this occasion a large number of journalists formed a human chain by holding hands of one another to press their genuine demands.

While addressing the rally CPUJ President, Mr. Vinod Kohli, demanded inclusion of electronic media in the purview of the Press Council by renaming it as the Media Council. This he said, would help in addressing the issues related to the electronic media.

        Earlier he demanded  the introduction of Pension scheme  for journalists on the pattern of Haryana. He also demanded the implementation of all demands already accepted by the Punjab government including formation of  State Press Accreditation Committee and extending the facilities of exemption of toll tax to desk journalists.

 आज मजदूर दिवस के उपलक्ष्य पर पंजाब और हरियाणा हाईकोर्ट के जज न्यायमूर्ति सूर्यकांत, जो स्टेट लीगल सर्विसेज अथॉरिटी, चंडीगढ़ के कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष भी हैं व महावीर सिंह, सदस्य सचिव, राज्य क़ानूनी सेवा प्राधिकरण के निर्देशानुसार पैरा लीगल वालंटियर गोपाल अत्री की अध्यक्षता में रामदरबार में बस स्टैंड के पास मजदूर साथियों के साथ मिलकर एक कार्यक्रम किया गया जिसमे राज्य क़ानूनी सेवा प्राधिकरण के वरिष्ठ पैरा लीगल वालंटियर  श्रीमती मंजीत मल्होत्रा व नरेश कुमार चालिया, जो देश के मुख्य न्यायाधीश से नोर्थ जोन के बेस्ट पैरा लीगल वालंटियर के तोर पर सम्मानित हो चुकें हैं, भी उपस्थित हुए। उन्होंने मजदूर साथियों की समस्याए सुनी और उनको मजदूर पहचान पत्र भी भेंट किये तथा उन्हें उनके हकों के प्रति भी जागरूक किया। इस मौके पर राज्य क़ानूनी सेवा प्राधिकरण के सभी पैरा लीगल वालंटियर दलीप कुमार, सुशील शर्मा, ललित मोहन, राजेश कुमार, ममता झा, वंदना जोशी, हरविन्दर कौर, रिम्पल खोसला, उमेश कुमार व गोबिंद अत्री आदि भी मौजूद थे। राज्य क़ानूनी सेवा प्राधिकरण की तरफ से लोगो को सन्देश दिया गया कि उनकी समस्याओ के समाधान के लिए वे हमेशा तत्पर है।

चंडीगढ़ : समाजवादी पार्टी के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष अखिलेश यादव से मिलने के बाद चंडीगढ़ वापसी पर भाजपा नेता व सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता विक्रम यादव  एवं उनके साथ बीजेपी छोड़ समाज पार्टी में शामिल हुए लोंगो का ढोल-नगाड़ों के साथ जोरदार स्वागत किया गया I लखनऊ से चंडीगढ़ पहुंचने से पहले ही सूचना पाकर लोग एकत्रित होने लगे थे I काफी संख्या में लोग एकत्रित होकर "समाजवादी पार्टी जिंदाबाद", " अखिलेश यादव जिंदाबाद " के नारे लगाते नजर आये I अखिलेश यादव ने इसकी अनुमति दे दी I तदुपरांत लखनऊ पार्टी कार्यालय में ही विक्रम यादव व उनके साथियों को माननीय राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष की उपस्थिति में ही समाजवादी पार्टी में शामिल कर लिया गया I

REHAU Inspiration Express visits Chandigarh College of Architecture to showcase contemporary architecture solutions

Chandigarh, 1st May, 2018:  As a part of its outreach initiative to interact with consumers and architects at their doorstep, REHAU India, a leading system and service provider for polymer-based solutions in windows, furniture & building industry, interacted with students, consumers and architects of the city. The REHAU Inspiration Express, a unique mobile showcase, visited the Chandigarh College of Architecture (CCA) and met students to share REHAU’s range of Advanced Living Solutions and discuss the evolution of contemporary architecture.  This ‘direct-to-consumer’ approach is a part of the special services offered to consumers, which is not possible through physical stores.

Displaying various Furniture Solutions, Windows Solutions, Plumbing and Underfloor Heating and Cooling solutions, the Inspiration Express has travelled to the major cities in India, including Roorke, Dehradun, Haridwar, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Hisar, Manesar, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Noida & Greater Noida where it has interacted with dealers, architects, interior designers, contractors and consumers. During its travel to cover the length and breadth of India, from February 2018- April 2019, the mobile showcase will interact with consumers, in over 100 cities. 

The interiors of Inspiration Express are designed to give a real life innovative depiction of the REHAU’s offerings for the consumers. The kitchen area showcases the roller shutter cabinets and surface solutions. The bathroom area and the living area are also designed to exhibit the unique REHAU product offerings including laminates & uPVC windows and doors solutions.

ऑटो यूनियन द्वारा सभी ऑटो वालों को जल्द अपनी वेरिफिकेशन कराने के निर्देश

हिंद ऑटो रिक्शा वर्कर यूनियन के अध्यक्ष कमलाकांत द्विवेदी की अध्यक्षता में आज एक बैठक हुई जिसमें यूनियन के सभी पदाधिकारियों एवं कार्यकारिणी के सदस्यों ने भाग लिया। बैठक में सभी ने सर्वसम्मति से निर्णय लिया कि जल्द से जल्द अपनी वेरिफिकेशन करवा कर अपने ऑटो सीट के पीछे या शीशे पर लगा ले ताकि ट्रैफिक पुलिस जांच में निर्दोष साबित हो सके। यूनियन की वेरिफिकेशन ना होने पर ऑटो बंद भी हो सकता है व कानून अपना काम करेगा।

बुद्ध पूर्णिमा के मौके पर वैदिक योगा मेडिटेशन एंव नील योग द्वारा जाट भवन, से. 27 में विशेष मेडिटेशन सेशन कराया गया जिसमें मां आनंद सुजाती ने उपस्थित लोगों को योग के बारे में कई विधियां बताईं व प्रवचन भी दिए। यह जानकारी नील योग की डायरेक्टर नीलम भारद्वाज एवं वैदिक योगा मेडिटेशन के डायरेक्टर  अर्पित जोशी ने दी । इस मौके पर योग के बारे में कई जानकारियां प्राप्त करके व नई विधियां सीखकर यहां आये लोग लाभान्वित हुए।
