CONSTRUCTION OF MULTI LEVEL PARKING BY

The Chandigarh Administration has accorded administrative approval for the construction of multi level parking between Chandigarh Judicial Academy and New District Court Complex Sector 43. This proposed parking will accommodate about 2000 cars and will be used by the public as well as the advocates. An estimated budget of Rs.81 crores has been sanctioned to the Engineering Department for the construction of multi level parking. It will take two years to complete the construction of the said multi level parking. The Home Secretary, Chandigarh and the District & Sessions Judge has also carried out an inspection of the proposed site in Sector 43.

police has achieved a major success in arresting of a two wheeler thief and
recovered 9 two wheelers from him. For this under the supervision of SDPO South
a team of Police station 34 on 4.3.22 acting on an information had arrested an
accused namely Jagtar Singh @ Taru S/o Lt. Sh. Kaka Singh R/o Village
Gobindgarh, PS – Sohana, Distt Mohali PB age 27 years while driving a stolen
motorcycle with fake number plate on it. He was produced in court and during
his 3 days police remand 8 more two wheelers ( 4 Activas and 4 Motorcycles)
have been recovered on his disclosure. These were stolen by him from different
places of Chandigarh and Mohali. He is an drug addict. All the recovered
vehicles were parked without number plates at different parking areas and at his
house also. Today he has been sent to judicial custody.

The
Chandigarh Housing Board in its 425th meeting held today under the Chairmanship
of Sh. Dharam Pal, Adviser to Administrator and Chairman of Chandigarh Housing
Board, after detailed deliberations, has taken following decisions:
1. The allotment of all those allottees who’s residential units were cancelled due to Building Violations and their appeals are pending before the Board to be restored on completion of following:
a. Removal of all those building violations by 30th September 2022 because of which the allotment was cancelled.
b.
Payment of applicable revival/restoration charges
2. The vacant posts of various category in the Chandigarh Housing Board to be filled through direct recruitment through a fair & transparent process.
3. Sale of Vacant Residential Site No.12 measuring about 4.95 acre through transparent e-Tender process on free-hold basis. The purchaser to be given required flexibilities in constructions and to be allowed to pay the whole bid amount in installments over a period of about 05 years.
4. In case of free-hold units, the transfers entry in the CHB record to be made on the basis of registered Sale-Deed and an affidavit from the transferee being responsible for all the existing building violations issues and ongoing proceedings, if any. Hence in case of free-hold units, the issue of building violations has been de-linked from transfer of such units.
5. The Administration to be requested to allow sale of all the CHB properties on free-hold basis even in those cases where the land was allottedto CHB on lease-hold basis.
Shri Dharam Pal, stated that efforts should be made to speed up the process of allowing approvals/sanctions in time-bound manner and preferably the Single Window Process to be followed. He also stated that for further Need Based Changes in the residential units of Chandigarh Housing Board, a committee has already been constituted. The report of the Committee to be placed before the Board for consideration and appropriate decisions in next meeting.
