Panjab University(PU), Chandigarh celebrated 4th International Yoga Day by performing the common Yoga Protocol from 6:00 am to 8:00 am by more than 500 people including students, faculties, local residents, NSS volunteers at Gymnasium Hall, PU Manishisant Munishri Dr. Vinay Kumar Ji “Alok” , was the chief guest and addressed the gathering. 
The Sports Department made the arrangements for LED screen for listening to 
Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narinder Modi address to the Nation. Present on the occasion was  Prof. Shankarji Jha, DUI, Dr. Parminder Singh, Director Sports, Dr. Rakesh Malik, Dy Director Sports and other faculty members. The event was concluded with the National Anthem. Since the inception of the celebrations of international day of yoga since 2015, Panjab University Chandigarh regularly provides yoga classes to the campus people and to the outsiders as well. P.U time to time organised yoga activities, yoga lectures, Awareness campaign, rally for yoga, free yoga services to the public, consultancy for treating disorders/diseases through yoga and nature therapies for the whole year without any break. Aiming to “live life to full potential” and to make individuals healthy, to develop the culture of adopting yoga in individual’s life.The free yoga classes at P.U. are the regular feature to promote health and wellness in the people inside and for the outsiders as well. The venue for the year long free yoga classes remains the Alumni House P.U. and during the one month free special yoga camp the venues were Shooting Range and gymnasium Hall P.U to promote mass participation to celebrate international day of yoga . The Yoga Expects Acharya Raman Kumar ji and Ms. Geeta Thakur provides their services to the participant’s whole year and during the camp Acharya Raman Kumar, Ms. Geeta Thakur and Dr. Neeru Malik helps the directorate sports to hold the celebrations of international day of yoga.
