BVCMUN’18 THE OPENING CEREMONY by BHAVAN VIDYALAYA, CHANDIGARH

Riding high on the stupendous success of previous conferences, the iconic ninth edition of the highly coveted BVCMUN’18 opened with all renewed vigour and vitality to mull over crucial international diplomatic issues on 3rd August 2018 at Tagore Theatre. A Senior Ambassador and highly distinguished statesman Shri K.C. Singh was the Chief Guest of the occassion. Other distinguished guests included Shri R.K. Saboo, Chairman Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Hony. Secretary Mr. P.R. Aggarwal and Associate Secretary Mr. Madhukar Malhotra along with the members of the Managing Committee. Several Principals and teachers of the participating schools and eminent Rotarians were other distinguished guests present at the occasion.
    The event began on a tranquil note with the Chief Guest lighting the auspicious lamp amidst the invocation to Lord Ganesha. This year, BVCMUN’18 is proud to be hosting more than 350 students from all over the country and the world. NIMS Dubai, NIMS Sharjah, DPS Kuwait and Birla Public School, Qatar are among the four international schools participating in this mega conference.
Shri R. K. Saboo, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan welcomed the Chief Guest Shri K.C. Singh, eminent guests and the participating teams in his address. He greatly appreciated the widespread participation BVCMUN’18 has evoked. In his speech, Shri Saboo shared his experience as a witness to World War II and his encounters with Gandhiji and Mother Teresa. He emphasized upon the need to create opportunities for the students to create moments to redefine the world.
