Chandigarh Police organized an Offer Letter Distribution Ceremony at UT, Secretariat Sector-9, Chandigarh for the 45 posts of constables (executive) under sports quota. Sh. Banwari Lal Purohit, Hon’ble Administrator UT Chandigarh cum Governor of Punjab was the Chief Guest at the function. Sh. Rajeev Verma IAS, Advisor to the Administrator, Chandigarh arrived as Guest of Honour. Sh. Praveer Ranjan, IPS Director General of Police UT Chandigarh, Dr. Vijay Namdeorao Zade IAS Finance Secretary UT Chandigarh, Sh. Nitin Kumar Yadav IAS Home Secretary UT Chandigarh, Sh. Raj Kumar Singh IPS Inspector General of Police UT Chandigarh, Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP/UT, Chandigarh, Sh. Ketan Bansal IPS, SP Cyber Crime & Hqrs, Sh. Mridul, SP/City Chandigarh and others officials were also present on the occasion. Sh. Praveer Ranjan, IPS DGP UT Chandigarh present the welcome address and he told about the recruitment process completed in a very short span with a transparent manner. The Chief Guest Hon’ble Governor Sh. Banwari Lal Purohit motivated the selected candidates for hard work and honest during their job. In this recruitment, total 3642 candidates had applied for the post, out of which 1520 candidates were passed in PE&MT which was held from 29.01.2024 to 10.02.2024. Finally, 45 candidates have been selected provisionally based on their sports achievements and 37 candidates have been given offer letters today. Out of these 45 candidates, 17 candidates have participated in international games i.e. Athletics, Football, Netball, boxing, cycling, kayaking & Canoeing, Pencak Silat, Taekwondo, Shooting etc. and also won medals. This recruitment has been completed within two months. In the last, Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Hqrs & training gave vote of thanks.
