The ban on keeping and storing the cooker using artificial chemicals

       It has come to the notice that many persons indulged in the trade of fruit wholesale / retail in Chandigarh are practicing artificial ripening of fruits by excessive use of chemicals and are also keeping a substantial stock of such artificially ripened fruits. This practice is definitely injurious to the health of the community/general public.
Therefore, Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, I.A.S., District Magistrate, Chandigarh, exercising the power conferred u/s 133 of the Cr. P.C., do hereby, prohibit the use of chemicals for artificial ripening of  fruits as well as the keeping/storing any amount of stock of such artificially ripened fruits, within the jurisdiction of Chandigarh. Further, it is ordered that all the S.D.M.s of Chandigarh, within their jurisdiction, shall conduct regular checking / inspections of the storage spaces / places used by the wholesalers /retailers of the fruits or the places where such a practice of use of chemicals is apprehended of being carried out, and such chemicals used for artificial ripening of fruits and the chemically adulterated fruits, if found, shall be destroyed immediately.
