10 Days summer camp of Lions Club Chandigarh Greater concludes

A 10 day camp for slum children which started
on 10th June 2018 ended today at Lions Bhawan Karsan Ram Darbar Chandigarh
where the participants were given mementoes and awards for their activities
undertaken by them during the camp. The Deputy Commissioner UT Chandigarh Sh:
Ajit Bala Ji Joshi was the chief guest. The deputy commissioner went around and
Saw various activities being undertaken by the club since its inception in
October 1977. He saw the functioning of weekly medical clinic in which on an
average hundred patients are given free medicines, the daily dental centre, the
computer centre for rural children in which four shifts of 10 students each are
run daily and The stitching and sewing centre being run in collaboration with
INIFD Chandigarh under CSR in which 40 rural women are being imparted training.
Speaking on the occasion Deputy Commissioner lauded the efforts of the club in
general and praised the ongoing 10day summer camp in which around 50 slum
children were given training in P.T, Yoga ,English ,Drawing, Dancing, Science
and maths. During the camp they were given bananas and healthy breakfast every
day. He specially praised Lion Rajkumar Bashamboo and his family for this
great social service. Past district governor Lion Ranvir Uppal thanked Mr Ajit
Bala ji Joshi ( Deputy Commissioner) for his visit to mark the conclusion of
3rd summer camp of the club The Participants were served snacks and cold drinks
after the function according to Sushil Kapoor spokesperson of the Loins
