Ambassador of Korea at PU

Prof. Shankarji Jha, Dean University Instructions (DUI) and
officiating Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh
interacted with His Excellency, Mr. Sin Bongkil, Ambassador of the
Republic of Korea in the presence of senior officials of PU during
his visit to PU, here today. DUI stated that Indians are peace loving people because
of Gandhian ideas. Its of utmost important to learn to be a human being. He desired
for partnership with Korea in the field of education. His Excellency, in
his address said that India is a big country and exchange in every
field is not possible but would encourage to promote collaboration with the
State of Punjab and specifically will look into various avenues
where meaningful exchange with PU can be initiated. He further
stated that the timing of his visit is appropriate keeping in mind
that India and Korea are making all efforts for strategic partnership in
various fields. He hopes to see India as the next frontier of Korea. Prof.

Research, said that PU is a prestigious institute of nation and
there are ample opportunities for collaborations in the field of education. Prof.
Pam Rajput, Prof. Emeritus,
Department cum Centre for Women Studies and Development urged for
better exchange programmes between faculty, researchers and students. Prof. Nandita
Singh, Dean International
Students, said that education is one of the means to strengthen cultural and social ties between the
two nations. Prof. S.K.Mehta and Prof. Rohit Sharma were also present on the occasion.
