On multilevel consultation and
ideation process at Regional Level

On
the Initiative of DFS (Department of Financial Services), the first stage of
the bottom-up consultative process designed to generate ideas and review
performance of banks and their alignment with national priorities is being
conducted at Regional Level on 17 th and 18
th August 2019 by Central Bank of India, Regional Office,
S.C.O 58-59, IInd Floor, Sector- 17B,
Chandigarh, Involving all branches within the Region’s jurisdiction. This is a
first of its kind consultation where 44 branch managers of
the region are participating in the deliberation under supervision of SRM, Sh.

D.D.Nayak. Branches are being asked to review their performance, themselves
deliberate on the issues before the banking sector, and ideate on future
strategy and the way forward. As a result of the consultations, a number of
workable and innovative suggestions came up on how PSBs in general, and our
bank in particular, shall improve their performance and the roadmap for the
future should be clearly spelt out. The main take away of this meeting is, now
branches of Central Bank of India in Chandigarh Region will focus more on
lending to MSME/Retail/Mudra loans/Education loans and thrust to be given for
Digital Banking & Financial Inclusion. All 44 Branch
Managers of Chandigarh Region have resolved to improve their performance
particular in the major thrust area of MSME/Retail/Mudra Loan/ Education
Loan/Digital Banking and Financial Inclusion and explore all possible ways and
means to prevent slippages of loan to NPA and upgradation of NPA accounts to
ensure substantial reduction of NPA within the current financial year.
