ADMINISTRATOR REVIEWS ARRANGEMENTS IN THE CITY : WAR ROOM DECISIONS

Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator Chandigarh, Sh. V P Singh Badnore presided over daily War Room meeting. The meeting was attended to by the Adviser, Sh. Manoj Parida, Sh Arun Gupta, Principal Secretary Home, Sh A K Sinha, Finance Secretary, Sh Sanjay Beniwal, Director General of Police, , Commissioner, MC, Deputy Commissioner. The Administrator also interacted with Deputy Commissioner’s of Mohali & Panchkula, Director, PHIMER, Director Health Services and Director Principal, GMCH through Video Conferencing. In daily review meetings Video conferencing is done to maintain social distancing . The major decisions taken today are as under :-
WAR ROOM BULLETIN
• Sh. K.K. Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation stated that he has introduced mandatory thermal scanning and passage through sanitization tunnel for every visitor to the Mandi in Sector 26. The Administrator directed him to restrain the crowd there, if necessary, additional police force may be deployed.
• Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner stated that 54,793 cooked food packets have been distributed among the needy people in different parts of the city. The Administrator advised Deputy Commissioner to take the help of NGOs and other Charitable Organizations. He thanked Masjid Management Committee, Sector 45 for their contribution towards free food distribution.
• Sh. A K Sinha, Finance Secretary stated that necessary arrangements are in place for payment of amount in case of any unfortunate incident to the workers in frontline in the city.
• Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary Health stated that an integrated plan based on the guidelines issued by Government of India is being prepared in consultation with Director Health Services, Dr. G. Dewan, Director Principal, GMCH, Dr. BS Chavan and Director, PGIMER, Dr. Jagat Ram. The Administrator complimented the Administration, which had already made contingency health management plan on similar terms, even before the Central Government finalized the guidelines.
• Sh. Sanjay Beniwal, Director General of Police stated that curfew is being strictly implemented in the city. The people are being warned by the police officials to wear masks in public places.
• Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser stated that the officials are taking extra care to ensure that the visitors from outside do not spread infection in Chandigarh. He also stated that the Administration was preparing a detailed plan for post-lockdown stage for the city.
• Sh. VP Singh Badnore appealed the Chandigarh people to develop the habit of wearing mask in public places and maintaining social distancing. He stated that Mumbai has followed this practice of making wearing of mask mandatory in public places
