CHANDIGARH POLICE HAS ACHIEVED A
MAJOR SUCCESS IN ARREST OF TWO ACCUSED

Chandigarh of Chandigarh Police has achieved a major success in arrest of two
accused from Zirakpur, Punjab. For this SP CCIC formed a special team of CCIC
under the supervision of DSP/CCIC headed by Incharge/CCIC, in Case FIR No. 100
Dated 24.07.2021 U/s 419, 420, 120B IPC of PS- 31, UT, Chandigarh, to apprehend
the criminals involved in cheating of Rs. 41340/- in the name of loan. This
case was registered on the complaint from Nitesh Kumar Sharma that he received
a SMS from mobile number regarding loan under Jandhan Yojna and the another
mobile number was given in the said SMS. He made a call on this mobile number
and the bank account was provided him to deposit money and complainant
deposited Rs. 41340 /- as File Charges, Stamp Duty and Insurance. But loan was
not sanctioned to him and after getting money; they switched off their numbers
and did not respond their calls.During the course of investigation, on
20.08.2021, two accused were arrested namely Vikram Singh s/o Tej Singh
resident of Rajoari Garden, Delhi and Navneet Kaur d/o Gurbachan Singh resident
of Kapurthala, Punjab. They are running
a call centre at Zirakpur and committed fraud in the name to provide loan. The
messages were sent to people on their mobile numbers and also advertised mobile
numbers for loan. The loan seeking people contact them on given numbers in
SMS/advertisement for loan requirement and they were asked to deposit money as
File Charges, Stamp Duty and Insurance in different bank accounts. But loan was
not sanctioned to him and after getting money from innocent people; they
switched off their numbers and did not respond their calls. Cyber Crime
Investigation Cell has recovered two registers, 16 mobile phones and 17 sim cards
along with 01 laptop from them and scrutinizing the details to know how many
more people/co-accused are involved in this crime and how many people were
cheated by them. Mostly victims are from Bihar, Maharashtra, UP, Jharkhand,
Punjab & Gujrat. Accused were produced in Court and 03 days Police Custody
of accused Vikram Singh was granted by Hon'ble Court and accused Navneet Kaur
was sent for Judicial Custody. Further investigation is going on.
