WHEREAS vide order No.40-3/2020-DM-I(A), dated 24/03/2020, the Union Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India had issued an order under Section 10 Disaster Management Act, stipulating lockdown measures for containment of COVID-19 in the country.

WHEREAS the said order was extended from time to time and was accordingly made applicable to Union Territory of Chandigarh. Now the Chairman, National Executive Committee (NEC) vide order dated 27.01.2022 has conveyed that the guidelines for surveillance, containment and caution issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs' will be in force upto 28.02.2022. WHEREAS the issue of outbreak of COVID-19 in Chandigarh was further studied and examined by a Committee constituted by the W/AA and a considered view emerged that CONTAINMENT ZONES: affected zones need to be declared as you can che3ck in the photograph attached.

Therefore, the undersigned In my capacity under Section 26 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 as Chairperson of District Disaster Management Authority, UT, Chandigarh, declare the above areas/pockets as Containment Zones and also direct that regular screening and monitoring of the areas by medical teams will continue. Frequent sanitization of the areas by Municipal Authorities will be conducted and the residents will be advised to strictly maintain ocial distancing norms, wear masks and follow hand hygiene.
