Unvieling of Portrait of Dr Mulk Raj Anand at PU

Prof B N Goswamy, eminent historian and Emiritus
Professor, Deptt of Art, History and Visual Arts, Panjab University
and recipient of Padma Bhushan 2008 and PU Gian Rattan Award 2018,
unvieled the portrait and write up of Dr Mulk Raj Anand in the foyer of
the auditorium , Arts Block I, Panjab University, Chandigarh, here today
in the presence of Prof Arun K Grover, VC,PU. Prof Goswamy said that
Dr Anand was truly Rennaisance man whose rare sense of art,literature and
politics remains unparallel to this day. He shared his
cherished memories about Dr Anand. He informed that Dr Anand
promoted art in a big way and even motivated all towards art like he was
an agent to do so. He valued Dr Anand in high esteem. He further added
that The Fine Arts Museum here at PU is having one of the most
valuable and finest collections of Art pieces which has great contribution of
Dr Anand. In the 1960’s he served as Tagore Professor of Literature and Fine
Arts ,PU, he added.

Deptt of English presented her gratitude to the guest of honour. Deans,all
senior PU offials, faculty, wardens and staff members were present on the
occasion.
