On behalf of Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Panjab University Pharmaceutical Society (PUPS) organised IPA - Devinder Pal - National Elocution Competition – 2018 at University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University Chandigarh. The 
theme of the elocution was "Pharmacists for a Healthy India". 
Out of the participants from B. Pharm and M. Pharm classes, the winners were Jagriti Sharma (First), Preetika Gupta (second) and Bakul Tikoo (third). The winners were awarded with a certificate and cash prizes. The winner Jagriti Sharma mainly emphasized on the healthcare system of India and how a pharmacist can serve as a crucial link that connects the diverse masses of this billion plus population. She concluded her speech with the note that Brain Drain is a major setback for India as the education gained by our pharmacists is exploited in terms of services to other nations. In the valedictory function, Professor Kanwaljit Chopra, Chairperson, UIPS emphasized on the role of Pharmacist in Health care system in India. Dr Neelima Dhingra and Dr Jai Malik were the expert evaluator. The event was organised by Professor Indu Pal Kaur, Dr Anurag Kuhad and Dr Sangeeta P. Sah. Professor Indu Pal Kaur informed that the State round would be conducted at GNDU, Amritsar on 2nd Nov 2018 on the theme “Pharmacists are your Medicine Experts” and the winner of this Institutional round is eligible to participate in the State round.
