Health check up camp for Safaikarmcharis

Day under the theme of
"Sanitation
workers-Hamare Swachhata Sainik"

The Municipal Corporation , Chandigarh organized a free
Medical Health check up camp for the Safaikarmcharis at Civil
Dispensary, Sector 8, here today on the occasion of International Labour
Day under the theme "Sanitation workers-Hamare Swachhata Sainik". The
camp was inaugurated by Davesh Moudgil, Mayor of Chandigarh in presence of
Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS,
Commissioner, Dr.
Saurabh Mishra, IAS, Sh. Mahesh Inder Singh, area councillor, Ms.
Shipra Bansal, Sh. Dalip Sharma, councillors of MCC, Dr. Poonam, Dr. Sarvdeep
Kaur and Dr. P.S. Bhatti, Medical Officer of Health, MCC. During the camp
medical tests of nearly 494 persons including Safaikarmacharis have been
done.
The Mayor said that these type of camps
will be organised regularly so that the safaikarmacharis & Door to Door
Collectors can get themselves medically checked and treated free of
cost. He said that the MCC
is working in the field of uniting workers for social and economic advancement.
Dr. Sarvdeep Kaur (Medical Incharge Civil Dispensary 8), Dr. Rupam (Dental
Surgeon Civil Dispensary 8), Doctors from Primary Health MCC, and other prominent
persons were present during the inauguration of camp. During
the camp general public has been sensitised about adoption of healthy
lifestyle including healthy food and importance of physical activity.
