Asthma Day celebrated at PU

As part of the World Asthma Day,
the department of Biochemistry, Panjab
University had invited Prof. D. Behera, PGIMER, Chandigarh to
deliver a talk. Prof.
Behera highlighted the prevalence and causes of this disease
which one has to live
with. He emphasised that awareness in form of such activities
as being carried out by Prof. Archana Bhatnagar, Department of Biochemistry, are
very much needed. Prof. Bhatnagar informed that the research scholars of the
department have performed a street play for school children and which will be enacted on May 3rd at Student Center of Panjab university at 1 pm. Prof. Behera
also gave an important message
that young people should not hide the fact that they are
suffering from Asthma. This stigma should be removed as it is an allergy which can be
managed with various methods as prescribed by the physician.
