“Low Cost Air Conditioner Efficiency Meter” a new unique product launched by CSIR-CSIO

The Fourth Industrial Revolution builds on the digital revolution and combines multiple technologies that are leading to unprecedented paradigm shifts in the economy, society and for individuals.CSIR CSIO Delhi Centre's “Low Cost Air Conditioner Efficiency Meter” (ACE meter) is one such technology which will serve as a revolution in the Indian smart grid industry. The developer of this technology Shri D. Bansal Scientist Incharge & Project leader CSIO Delhi Centre informed that the product so developed shall be useful to evaluate the working performance of AC units and will be test tool for window air conditioners. Prof. R. K. Sinha, Director CSIO informed that this technology was developed with the financial support of DST. He said that it is portable and capable of performing analysis on the AC and first of its kind which quantitatively estimates and outputs the efficiency of air conditioners. Prof. Sinha said that with the help of this gadget any buyer of AC will be able to check whether the AC is of 1-ton or 1.5-ton and also check whether it is a 3-star or 5-star AC. Dr. Anita Aggarwal, Scientist E, DST also graced the occasion of technology transfer and said that it is a promising product and will go a long way in saving electricity and will also help the industry and consumers in knowing if there is any wastage of electricity. Shri Siddharth Dwivedi, Co-Founder and COO of PowerGuru said that PowerGuru® is a Government of India Recognized Startup working in IoT space and  focuses on developing an ecosystem using IoT and Machine Learning to optimize the energy consumption and save energy in Commercial and Residential Establishments. He said that he already has a number of expressions of intent to buy this product from private industries like Dell and also from Govt. sector like the Indian Navy.
