A meeting on Law &, Order
was held today chaired by Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, H.E. Administrator, UT,
Chandigarh and Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh,
Sh. Sanjay Baniwal, DGP, UT, Chandigarh, Sh. Ombir Singh Bishnoi, DIG/UT, Ms.
Nilambari Jagadale, SSP/UT and other senior officers of administration and
police department were present. H.E. Administrator (UT) and Adviser appreciated
the working of Chandigarh Police for maintaining Law and Order in the city.
Administrator (UT) & other dignitaries who were present in the meeting,
also highly praised the commendable work done by Chandigarh Police by giving
timely response and assistance in a recent women safety related incident. Incident
Reported: - On 03.12.2019, a senior correspondent from TV Channel made a call
on 112 number at about 2:17 PM and gave information regarding eve teasing with
a girl at Rose Garden parking Sector-16, Chandigarh for live reality checkup of
police response in such incidents. On this, Chandigarh Police immediately took
prompt action and PCR vehicle reached on the spot within 2 minutes. Beat
officer also reached on spot immediately within 3 minutes followed by DSP, SHO
and women helpline team within 5 minutes. The response time and prompt action
taken by Chandigarh Police was highly appreciated by H.E. Governor Punjab cum
Administrator, UT, Chandigarh.
