GGDSD College, Kheri Gurna is organizing a one week National Faculty Development Programme on “IMPROVING THE TEACHING & RESEARCH ACUMEN” from 7 th to 13 th June, 2021. It is being organized by IQAC Cell of the college to facilitate the faculty in acquiring the required knowledge for successfully conducting online teaching and aiding research. The seven days’ of FDP have been designed meticulously to cover a myriad range of issues pertinent for Online teaching-learning and research like innovative tools and techniques in Online Teaching, developing online courses like MOOCs and the supportive software and latest tools for designing them, paradigms in inter/multidisciplinary research, New Education Policy along with issues like the rising stress and anxiety due to the pandemic to name a few. The inaugural session of the FDP was started by Dr. Meenakshi Negi, Coordinator, IQAC Cell of the college. She welcomed all the dignitaries, faculty members, participants and research scholars and highlighted about the significance of the FDP modules. Before beginning the programme, homage was paid to Goddess Saraswati through a soulful rendition of Sarawati Vandana seeking the divine blessings of the deity. Sh. Upkar Krishan Shrama ji, Hon’ble President of GGDSD College Society graced the occasion with his benign presence. He congratulated the organizers for arranging the need of the hour FDP and expressed his views on the importance of the blended mode of teaching and learning in the post pandemic era. Prof. (Dr.) Rama Arora, Principal of the college in her inaugural address highlighted about the unique and different features of the college. She gave a detailed description behind the conception of the FDP elaborating upon the shift from traditional ‘Chalk and Talk’ style of teaching to a more technologically stimulated pedagogy. More than 100 participants were present in the inaugural session comprising of worthy Dr. SC Vaidya, General Secretary, GGDSD College Society, Maj Gen A.K. Shori, Retd. (Chairman, Governing Body of GGDSD College, Kheri Gurna), esteemed dignitaries, valuable resource person of first technical session Dr. Jayanti Dutta, Deputy Director, HRDC, Punjab University, Chandigarh and scholarly participants. Vote of thanks was rendered by Dr. Preeti Arora, Assistant Professor, P.G. Department of Management and Commerce of the college.
