The
staff
and students of Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh combined the best of
offline and online mode, and let their patriotic spirits soar high as they
celebrated Independence Day with customary fervour and festivity. The day rang
in manifold celebrations for the school, as two athletes, Hardik Pahwa and Hardik
Aggarwal of the Special Cell were honoured today at the Independence Day
celebrations by the Chandigarh Administration. The special day commenced with
the Senior
Principal Ms. Vineeta Arora, Vice-Principal Ms. Suparna Bansal leading the flag hoisting and tree
plantation ceremony on the school premises at Sector 27, Chd. The
Senior Principal along with the Vice-principal planted ‘Saplings of Hope’ to
mark the occasion. As the school spreads its wings this year with its third
campus at New Chandigarh, these saplings nurtured here, would later be
transplanted in the new campus, establishing an eternal connection between the
campuses and symbolising the harbinger of progression. Meanwhile, ensuring
that the fervour of patriotism lives on despite the pandemic, the students of classes VI to XII
connected via online teleconference, flaunting hues
of pride – the tricolour. While some painted flag on their faces, others wore tricolour dresses
and put up ‘Tiranga’ virtual backgrounds. Youngsters participated
in an online quiz, delivered patriotic speeches, and enjoyed cultural
performances. Teachers screen shared two videos comprising a beautiful prayer
by the school’s music department, and a compilation of performances by students
with glimpses of previous years’ celebrations at the school. A few students
also shared experiences of attending offline classes after a year. The
delightful day concluded with the National Anthem. This
Independence Day was different amidst the pandemic, but the essence of the
occasion was maintained magnificently by the day’s celebrations. The day’s celebration filled
everyone’s hearts with love for their school and revered motherland.
