REVIEW MEETING TO DISCUSS THE PISA/CCT PREPAREDNESS FOR FIELD TRIAL OF PISA

A review meeting was held today to discuss the PISA/CCT preparedness keeping in mind the Field Trial of PISA which is scheduled to be held from 15th to 18th September in 38 Schools. The dignitaries present in the meeting were Sh. Dharam Pal, Adviser to the Administrator, Sh. Manoj Ahuja, Chairman CBSE, Secretary Education, Sh. S.S Gill, Sh. Joseph Emanuel, National Project Director PISA, Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar, Director School Education, Dr. Surender Singh Dahiya, Director SCERT, Deputy Directors, District Education officers, Subject Expert Group Coordinators and School Principals. Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar Director School Education apprised the officers that schools have opened for classes 7th to 12th and students of classes 5th and 6th will also join schools from 2nd September. He informed that a Control Command Centre -cum-PMU has been set up at RUSA Sector-42. The Adviser reviewed the status of activities that are being carried out in schools and discussed the issues being faced during the Pandemic. CBSE chairman Sh. Manoj Ahuja motivated the stake holders that the resilience, belief and commitment will help to come out of the learning loss that has occurred due to pandemic. He also emphasized that it is high time we focus on increasing attendance in schools and take up activities in mission mode that enhance the reading ability of our students. Sh. Joseph Emanuel, National Project Director PISA presented the process of field Trial and the role of school coordinators. The Education Secretary, Sh. SS Gill shared that Principals/teachers must convince the parents about resending their children to the schools. An overview of PISA and its preparedness was given by Director SCERT in which he talked about the resource material developed by Chandigarh, capacity building of teachers and Heads Pre and Post lockdown period and steps taken by the Department for smooth conduct of Field Trial.
