 The Annual Production “Beyond Smile” of  Department of Indian Theatre, Panjab University, Chandigarh, was inaugurated by Prof. Shankarji Jha, Dean University Instruction, here today at the Studio- Theatre of the Department. The play will also be on 8th and 9th May, 2018 as well at 6.30 pm.  ‘Beyond Smile’ depicts a plethora of humanitarian Crisis across the globe.  It portrays the crisis of Syrian civil war, Rohingya Refugees, farmers suicide and violence against women in India. The play explored the malevolent side of human and compels us to think where we are heading. Prof.

     Navdeep Kaur, Chairperson, informed that every year the students come up with annual play production and this year it has been directed by Sangeet Natak Award winning Director Sh. Probir Guha. His work with the students in the last 25 days has brought an immensely powerful piece of thought provoking art that reflects  today’s reality.  Sh. Probir Guha said that his theatre is inexpensive but not compromising with art. This he learnt from his tradition. He believes in Poor Theatre. Here poverty is his property. It teaches him to understand a magical make believe world. It is the strength of his theatre. He believe more in process, less in product. According to him, this 25 days exercises is termed as "Production Process". युवा कांग्रेस आईटी सेल संयोजक आरती के नेतृत्व में महिलाओं ने केंद्र सरकार पर बलात्कारियों का संरक्षण देने के आरोप लगाए हैं । इसके विरोध में महिलाओं ने मुंह पर काली पट्टी बांधकर सेक्टर 38 डडू-मजरा में प्रदर्शन किया और बलात्कारियों को कड़ी सजा देने की मांग उठाई। युवा नेता सुनील यादव व विनायक बंगिया ने कहा कि केंद्र की भाजपा सरकार बलात्कारियों को  संरक्षण दे रही है। भाजपा विधायक एक घटना में शामिल है तो वहीं दूसरी ओर हिंदू-मुस्लिम के नाम पर समाज को बांटा जा रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि बलात्कारियों को कड़ी सजा मिलनी चाहिए और मोदी सरकार को इन मामलों में अपनी चुप्पी तोड़ते हुए साफ  करना चाहिए कि आखिर क्यों बच्चियों के रेप और महिलाओं के खिलाफ हो रहे अत्याचार पर भाजपा मौन है। उन्होंने कहा कि आज महिलाओं की सुरक्षा प्राथमिकता होनी चाहिए लेकिन भाजपा की सरकार में हालात बद्द से बदत्तर हो रहे हैं। बच्चियों को निशाना बनाया जा रहा है, महिलाओं की सुरक्षा दांव पर है और प्रधानमंत्री विदेश यात्राओं में व्यस्त हैं। इस अवसर जनरल सेक्रेटरी  जानू मालिक,  खुस्भू, चंचल, पूजा, बबिता, सीमा, परविंदर, सौरव, सुनीता, विशाल, पवन, हरमन, दीपक, दलजीत, जस्सी, सुमित. सहित अन्य उपस्थित रहे।

Ashwani Kumar convenor coordination committee pointed out that Chandigarh administration on the direction of Government of India has imposed a ceiling of 5% of the total vacancies on compassionate appointment it is worth mentioned here that the employees of Chandigarh administration are being governed by services condition of Punjab government and no ceiling on compassionate appointment in Punjab that hundreds of dependents of deceased employees are suffering for the maintenance of their livelihood as no person is there in the family to feed so demanding revoking  of ceiling on compassionate appointment and  grant the job on compassionate ground to the deceased family members.

   The 8th Annual Convocation and 11th Prize Distribution Function were held in Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 50, Chandigarh today. Sh. R.K Popli, PCS,  Director Public Relations and Registering & Licencing Authority, Chandigarh Administration (U.T.) Chandigarh was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He congratulated the graduates and prize winners and applauded the efforts for the holistic development of the students. He highlighted the role of life skills and value system to be an achiever at work place which is more important than only receiving academic degrees. 

Principal of the College Dr. Manjit Kaur presented the Annual Report of the college highlighting the achievements of the students during the session 2017-18.  Prof. (Dr) Rosy Walia, Dean, presented the students of M.COM, B.COM and BBA for award of Degrees to the graduates. Around 212 degrees were awarded to the students of M.COM, B.COM (Hons in Management Studies and Economics), B.Com (pass course) and BBA. Vice Principal Amarpreet Singh Sijher announced the names of the prize winners who have excelled in the fields of academics and co-curricular activities during the year. Four students were awarded Roll of Honour in the field of Academics, Sports and Cultural Activities. In all 28 students were awarded College Colour and 130 students were awarded Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievements in academics, sports, NSS and co-curricular activities

हरियाणा के शिक्षा मंत्री राम बिलास शर्मा ने मौसम विभाग की तेज तूफान और बरसात की चेतावनी को ध्यान में रखते हुए प्रदेश के सभी सरकारी और निजी स्कूलों में 7 व 8 मई के अवकाश की घोषणा की है।

    हरियाणा के राजस्व एवं आपदा प्रबंधन विभाग द्वारा सार्वजनिक हित में एडवाईजरी जारी की गई है कि आगामी 7 व 8 मई को हरियाणा में तेज तूफान और बरसात का पूर्वानुमान है। राजस्व एवं आपदा प्रबंधन विभाग द्वारा पूर्वानुमान के मद्देनजर नागरिकों को एहतियात बरतने की सलाह दी गई है।  इस संबंध में जानकारी देते हुए विभाग के प्रवक्ता ने बताया कि प्रदेशवासियों से अपील की गई है कि वे इस तेज तूफान और बरसात के पूर्वानुमान से भयभीत न हों, बल्कि विभाग द्वारा जारी सावधानियां बरतें। इस दौरान बच्चों, औरतों और बुजुर्गों का विशेष ध्यान रखें। सभी संबंधित विभागों को सतर्क रहने के निर्देश जारी किए गए हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि मौसम विभाग के पूर्वानुमान अनुसार 7 व 8 मई को सभी प्रदेशवासी पेड़ों से दूरी बनाए रखें। वे न तो स्वयं पेड़ों के नीचे सोएं और न ही अपने पालतू पशुओं को पेड़ों के आस-पास छोड़ें। रात को सोने से पूर्व चुल्हों व भट्टी के अतिरिक्त अन्य किसी नजदीकी स्थान पर सुलगती आग को बुझाकर सोएं।

रात को जल्दी अपने घरों को लौट आएं और सायंकाल को सफर तय करने से बचें। केवल अति आवश्यक होने पर ही सफर करें। रात को सोते समय अपने पास टॉर्च आदि की व्यवस्था रखें तथा इलैक्ट्रोनिक उपकरणों को प्लग से बाहर निकालकर सोएं। 

प्रवक्ता ने बताया कि प्रदेश के किसानों से अपील की है कि वे अपनी तूड़ी व अनाज को संभालकर रखें। मकान की छतों पर भारी भरकम एवं तेज हवाओं में उडकऱ नुकसान पहुंचाने वाले सामान को सही प्रकार से रखें। छतों की मुंडेरों और दीवारों पर रखे हुए गमलों को भी नीचे सुरक्षित रखें। टीन एवं हल्के पदार्थों वाली छतों का विशेष ध्यान रखें।

बिजली के उपकरणों तथा खम्बों से दूर रहें। तेज तूफान आदि के दौरान वृक्षों एवं खम्बों के गिरने की स्थिति में नजदीकी उपतहसील या तहसील मुख्यालय अथवा लघु सचिवालय में सूचित करें।  उन्होंने बताया कि किसी भी नागरिक को घबराने तथा डरने की जरूरत नहीं है और राजस्व एवं आपदा प्रबंधन विभाग के अतिरिक्त सभी संबंधित विभागों के अधिकारियों एवं कर्मचारियों को मौसम विभाग के पूर्वानुमान अनुसार सतर्क रहने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं।  प्रवक्ता ने बताया कि प्रदेशवासियों का आह्वान किया गया है कि वे तूफान के दृष्टिगत सोशल मीडिया पर फैलाई जाने वाली व्यर्थ की अफवाहों पर ध्यान न दें। उन्होंने कहा कि सक्षम लोग मौसम विभाग की वैबसाईट www.imd.gov.in पर सही जानकारी प्राप्त का सकते हैं एवं आस-पास के लोगों को भी इसके बारे में जागरूक कर सकते हैं।

चण्डीगढ़-जीरकपुर रोड़ पर स्थित गाँव रायपुर खुर्द में मंदिर के पास शराब का ठेका खुलने से तनाव का माहौल बन गया है व स्थानीय जनता में प्रशासन के खिलाफ भारी आक्रोश फैला हुआ है। गाँव के सरपंच लक्ष्मण सिंह ने चेतावनी दी है कि किसी भी प्रकार की अप्रिय स्थिति के लिए प्रशासन ही पूरी तरह से जिम्मेवार होगा। 

प्राप्त विवरण के मुताबिक गाँव रायपुर खुर्द के निवासियों ने बीती 27 मार्च को सरपंच लक्ष्मण सिंह की अगुआई में एक बैठक करके सर्वसम्मति से प्रस्ताव पास किया था कि इस गाँव में कोई भी ठेका नहीं खुलना चाहिए व इस बाबत प्रशासन को भी अवगत करा दिया गया था। परन्तु फिर भी एक अप्रैल को यहां लालडोरे से बाहर की कृषि योग्य भूमि पर ठेका खोल दिया गया जिससे स्थानीय जन बेहद नाराज चल रहे थे। इसी बीच उपायुक्त ने पिछले दिनों चण्डीगढ़ के गाँवों में लालडोरे से बाहर बने शराब के 5 ठेकों को बंद करने के आदेश जारी कर दिए जिसपर कल यानी 3  मई को रायपुर खुर्द का ठेका बंद कर दिया गया। इससे स्थानीय निवासियों में ख़ुशी की लहर दौड़ गई परन्तु ये ख़ुशी ज्यादा देर नहीं टिक सकी क्योंकि आज प्रात: इस गाँव में शराब ठेकेदार ने दूसरी जगह ठेका खोल दिया। हैरत की बात ये रही कि इस बार भी ठेका लाल डोरे से बाहर वाली कृषि योग्य भूमि पर ही खोला गया जो हाई-वे से महज 50 मीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है तथा साथ ही ठेकेदार ने दुस्साहस दिखाते हुए काली माता के मंदिर के बिलकुल पास ही खोल दिया जिससे गाँव वासी भड़क उठे व गाँव का माहौल तनावपूर्ण हो गया। गाँव वासियों का कहना है कि इससे उनकी धार्मिक भावनाएं आहत हो रहीं है हैं इसलिए जल्द से जल्द ठेके को यहां से हटाया जाये। गाँव के पंचों सर्वश्री दलबीर सिंह, मनदीप सिंह, नीतू सैनी, सुनैना रावत, रणवीर सिंह, महिला कीर्तन मंडली की अध्यक्ष मीणा रानी, कांग्रेस के ग्रामीण जिला सचिव राजेश चौधरी, अरविन्द सिंह, धनोज कुमार, दीना नाथ, नरेश यादव, प्रेम चाँद, दिलबाघ सिंह, बिट्टू, नछत्र सिंह, स. रणजीत सिंह, पूर्व पांच गिरवर सिंह, गुरविंदर सिंह, मंगत राम, महावीर सिंह आदि ने इस ठेके को लेकर भारी आक्रोश जताते हुए कहा कि ना सिर्फ ये ठेका गाँव की मुख्य सड़क पर खोला गया है व साथ ही यहां पब्लिक पार्क भी है जहां गाँव के बच्चे-बूढ़े व युवतियां एवं महिलायें सभी आते-जातें हैं जिससे यहां असामाजिक तत्वों के कारण माहौल बिगड़ने का खतरा पैदा हो गया है। ऊपर से हाई-वे के पास स्थित होने से दुर्घटनाओं की भी आशंका रहेगी। और सबसे ऊपर मंदिर पास होने के कारण किसी भी वक्त तनाव फूट सकता है इसलिए तत्काल प्रभाव से ठेका यहां से हटाया जाए नहीं तो गाँव की महिला कीर्तन मंडली, गुरुद्वारा कमिटी, मंदिर कमिटी, हिन्दू युवा वाहिनी एवं जिला ग्रामीण कांग्रेस एकजुट होकर धरना -प्रदर्शन से लेकर सड़क जाम आदि करके आंदोलन छेड़ देगी। गाँव के सरपंच लक्ष्मण सिंह ने चण्डीगढ़ के प्रशासक, उनके सलाहकार, गृह सचिव, वित्त सचिव व डीसी से अपील की है कि यहाँ अधिकारियों को भेज कर माहौल का जायजा ले क्योंकि यहां हालात कभी भी बेकाबू हो सकतें हैं।

भारतीय जनता युवा मोर्चा के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष एडवोकेट गौरव गोयल ने अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी (एएमयू) प्रशासन को छत्रसंघ भवन से तत्काल जिन्ना की तस्वीर को बाहर फेंकने की मांग की व अल्टीमेटम देते हुए कहा कि 48 घंटे के अंदर यदि जिन्ना के चित्र को बाहर नहीं फेंका गया तो चंडीगढ़ भाजयुमो आंदोलन छेड़ देगी व जिन्ना के पुतले फूंके जाएंगे तथा धरना-प्रदर्शन किया जाएगा। गौरव गोयल ने आज एक फेसबुक पोस्ट में लिखा था, जिन्हें जिन्ना महापुरुष लगता है वो मुस्लिम लीग में या पाकिस्तान तुरंत चले जाएं।

गौरव गोयल ने कहा कि जिस शख्स के कारण लाखों लोगों को जिंदगी से हाथ धोना पड़ा. न जाने कितनी महिलाओं की आबरू लुटी, बच्चे अनाथ हो गए. दुनिया का सबसे बड़ी मानव पलायन जिस शख्स के कारण हमें देखना पड़ा, उस मोहम्मद अली जिन्ना को आज हमारे देश में महिमामंडित किया जा रहा है.उन्होंने कहा कि ऐसे जो भी लोग हैं, जिन्हें जिन्ना एक महापुरुष लगता है, वह तुरंत पाकिस्तान चले जाएं या ?फिर जिन्ना की बनाई पार्टी मुस्लिम लीग में शामिल हो जाएं. गौरव ने पूछा कि ये कैसी सोच है, जो हमारी पीठ में छुरा घोंपने वाले को भी महापुरुष बताती है? उन्होंने कहा कि असल में कुछ लोग जिन्ना की काबिलियत की चर्चा कर उसके देश से गद्दारी के चेहरे को ढकने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं।  अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम विश्वविद्यालय की देश में एक अलग पहचान है, इसके सम्मान के लिए यहां से जिन्ना की तस्वीर हटनी ही चाहिए।

The graduates of Panjab University, Chandigarh in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology during the year 2017 wore the graduation gowns during the degree award ceremony held today in the University Auditorium.

       Total of 752 passed out students of three engineering institutes of PU namely UIET Chandigarh, Dr SSBUICET Chandigarh and UIET SSGPURC, Hoshiarpur were awarded the degrees by Shri Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Vice-chairman, Bharti Enterprises Ltd. Ms. Pamela Kumar, Professor, Bharti Chair, UIET, Panjab University Chandigarh was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.

       Mr Rakesh Bharti Mittal, chief guest of the day, emphasized on pursuance of excellence to bring India on the forefronts of technology to provide solutions for mankind. He reckoned India as rising star and said its extremely fortunate to graduate and work in India at present. He discussed the shift in the jobs in the present era.     

       Earlier, Prof Arun Grover, Vice chancellor welcomed the chief guest and narrated contributions of Sh Mittal towards technological development in the region. He emphasized on building industry academia corridors which will function as back-door engines of growth. He congratulated all the graduates and urged them to work hard for bright future.

Ms. Pamela Kumar, guest of honour laid stress on keeping updated on the latest technologies and be entrepreneurial to achieve excellence and generating employment. She shared her experiences from 33 years of working in industry. She said that it is extremely opportune time to be an engineer in India. She elaborated numerous opportunities for young graduates in the era of 5G, IOT, smart health systems, need of low power technologies. She encouraged youngsters to work with passion, have risk taking capabilities and collaborate for multi-disciplinary solutions.        

The degrees were awarded to 469 BE graduates from UIET Chandigarh,  66 ME/MTech post graduates of UIET Chandigarh, 88 BE graduates of SSGPURC Hoshiarpur, 101 BE graduates of Dr SSBUICET Chandigarh and 28 ME post graduates of SSBUICET Chandigarh. Young assistant professors and research scholars from UIET Chandigarh and Dr SSBUICET Chandigarh who published their research work in reputed journals during the last year were also honoured on the occasion.

एमच्योर सर्कल-कबड्डी फैडरेशन ऑफ इंडिया के नेशनल प्रेजीडेंट एवं हरियाणा के शिक्षा मंत्री राम बिलास शर्मा ने बताया कि भारत के ग्रामीण क्षेत्र में सर्वाधिक लोकप्रिय खेल सर्कल-कबड्डी को ओलंपिक खेलों में शामिल करवाने के लिए सरकार प्रयत्नशील है ओर जल्दी ही भारत में इस खेल के एशियाड-गेम्स करवाए जाएंगे, इसके लिए केंद्रीय खेल मंत्री राज्यवर्धन सिंह राठौड़ से चर्चा चल रही है। शर्मा आज चंडीगढ़ पंजाब यूनिवर्सिटी में चल रहे 29वीं सीनियर नेशनल सर्कल-कबड्डी चैंपियनशिप के दूसरे दिन के खेलों का आगाज करने के बाद खिलाडिय़ों को संबोधित कर रहे थे । इस चैंपियनशिप में देशभर के 14 राज्यों के खिलाड़ी हिस्सा लिया हैं । उन्होंने महिला वर्ग की हरियाणा व केरल की टीमों के साथ परिचय किया । इस मुकाबले में हरियाणा की लड़कियों ने केरल की लड़कियों को  32-14 अंकों के अंतर से हराया ।

एमच्योर सर्कल-कबड्डी फैडरेशन ऑफ इंडिया के नेशनल प्रेजीडेंट शर्मा ने कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के ‘बेटी बचाओ, बेटी पढ़ाओ’ अभियान को आगे बढ़ाते हुए हरियाणा सरकार बेटियों के मान-सम्मान में कई योजनाएं चला रही है। उन्होंने अन्य राज्यों से सर्कल-कबड्डी में हिस्सा लेने आई लड़कियों से आह्वान किया कि अगर गरीबी के कारण कोई लडक़ी खेलों के लिए सही खुराक न ले पाए तो हरियाणा सरकार उसकी पूरी मदद करेगी।

PUCA urged VC, IKG-PTU that PTU should take necessary steps to improve the poor financial state of the unaided colleges. PUCA also demanded that the University should start new courses as per the demand of the Industry.

VC gave patient hearing to all the problems of the Colleges and assured that all the genuine problems being faced by the Colleges would be taken up with the State & Centre Govt.

पंजाबी सिनेमा अपने सब से सुनहरी पीरियड में से गुजर रहा है जब यह हर रोज़ एक नई उचाईओं को छू रहा है।एक समय था जब पंजाबी फिल्मों का बजट बहुत ही कम होता था, शूट भी सिर्फ आस पास के इलाकों में ही होता था और आईडिया भी एक जैसे ही होते थे पर आज कल प्रोजेक्ट बहुत ही बड़े हो गए हैं।ज्यादातर फिल्मों का शूट विदेशों में होता है।इसी कड़ी में नाम जुड़ा है आने वाली पंजाबी फिल्म @आटे दी चिड़ी@ का जिसने अपनी पहली शिफ्ट का शूट पूरा कर लिया है और अब इसका शूट विदेश में होगा।

यह फिल्म 19 अक्टूबर 2018  को रिलीज़ होगी।इसी लिए फिल्म का शूट पूरी स्पीड से चल रहा है।सारी यूनिट ने फिल्म के पहले हिस्से का शूट इंडिया में खासकर पंजाब में पूरा कर लिया है।अगले हिस्से का शूट कनाडा में होगा।पॉलीवूड की मल्लिका नीरू बाजवा फिल्म में बंब जट्ट अमृत मान के साथ नज़र आएंगी।इनके बिना गुरप्रीत घुग्गी, बी.एन. शर्मा, कर्मजीत अनमोल, सरदार सोही, अनमोल वर्मा, निशा बानो, निरमल ऋषि, गुरप्रीत भंगू और हार्बी संघा खास किरदार निभाएंगे।@आटे दी चिड़ी@ को डायरेक्ट किया है रब्ब दा रेडियो और सरदार मोहम्मद जैसी फिल्मों से प्रसिदी प्राप्त कर चुके हैरी भट्टी ने।इस प्रोजेक्ट को प्रोडूस किया है तेग प्रोडक्शंस और चरनजीत सिंह वालिआ ने। अपने पहले अनुभव के बारे में बात करते हुए फिल्म की मुख्य अभिनेत्री नीरू बाजवा ने कहा, "आप फिल्म के शूट की शुरुआत में हर पक्ष से स्पष्ट नहीं होते पर जैसे ही शूट शुरू होता है आप कहानी के साथ एक कनेक्शन महसूस करते हो और यह किरदार आपकी ज़िन्दगी का बहुत ही जरूरी हिस्सा बन जाता है।सेट का माहौल इतना अच्छा था कि बिलकुल घर जैसा लगता था।हर कोई बहुत ही प्रोफ़ेशनल था अपने काम को लेकर और खासकर हैरी भट्टी वो हर किरदार से क्या चाहते थे उसके बारे में बिलकुल स्पष्ट थे।मैं सिर्फ यही उम्मीद करती हूँ कि सेट का माहौल और वातावरण अगली शिफ्ट के लिए भी बिलकुल ऐसा ही होगा।" इस मौके पर अमृत मान ने कहा, "सेट पर होना ही अपने आप में बहुत ही अच्छा एहसास है पर एक हीरो होना उससे भी ज्यादा जबरदस्त है इसको शब्दों में ब्यान ही नहीं किया जा सकता।मैं अपने आप को बहुत ही खुशकिस्मत समझता हूँ कि मुझे अपनी दूसरी ही फिल्म में पॉलीवूड की हिट मशीन नीरू बाजवा और सबसे अच्छे डायरेक्टर हैरी भट्टी के साथ काम करने का मौका मिला।दोनों के साथ काम करना इस तरह था जैसे आप ने एक एक्टिंग कोर्स पूरा किया हो।जैसे अभी तक सिर्फ एक ही सेगमेंट पूरा हुआ है तो मैं कहूँगा कि मैंने एक सैमेस्टर पूरा कर लिया है।मैं कनाडा शूट के लिए बहुत ही उत्शहित हूँ और मुझे पूरा विश्वास है कि यह उससे भी अच्छा होगा।" जहाज के कप्तान हैरी भट्टी ने कहा, "यह मेरी सिर्फ तीसरी फिल्म है पर एक साल के दरमियान ही मुझे लगता है कि दर्शक मेरे से बहुत ही ज्यादा उम्मीद रखने लगे हैं।फिल्म के शूट से पहले मैं बहुत ही ज्यादा बेचैन था।अब जैसे कि पहली शिफ्ट पूरी हो चुकी है तो मैं बहुत ही संतुष्ट हूँ कि मेरी सोच सही हाथों में महफूज़ है और मैं खुश हूँ कि मैंने सारे किरदारों का चुनाव बिलकुल सही किया है।हर किसी ने अपने रोल के अनुसार अपने आप को पूरा ढाल लिया है।नीरू बाजवा और अमृत मान के साथ काम करने का अनुभव बहुत ही अच्छा रहा।कनाडा के लिए भी सारी तयारी हो चुकी है।मैं सिर्फ यही दुआ करता हूँ कि वाहेगुरु जी की मेहर के साथ आगे भी सब सफलतापूर्वक हो जाए।"
