Harsh Jakhar Ranked First in Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan 2017-18

Harsh Jakhar, a student of IX B, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh has achieved the unique distinction of being declared the First Rank Holder Nationally by Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) which is a National Programme for Educating and Popularising Science among school students of VI to XI Standards. The programme is initiated by Vijnana Bharti (VIBHA) in collaboration with Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous organisation under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and NCERT.
   Harsh has been awarded with a National Science Champion Certificate and a Cash Prize of Rs-25,000/-. An ecstatic Harsh said, ‘I am delighted on being ranked First nationally which came as a surprise, though I was expecting a good rank.’ He credits his parents and the science teachers for his grand achievement and wants to pursue Aeronautical Engineering from IIT Mumbai.
A series of written test, experiments and model-making went into the competition, the national level of which was held at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in Mumbai. He was awarded by Prof. M.M. Sharma, a Padam Vibhushan from IIT Delhi. Harsh Jakhar was felicitated by the Sr. Principal Mrs. Vineeta Arora in the Morning Assembly.Sr. Principal Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh
