Dry run for COVID Vaccination in

U.T.Chandigarh has successfully conducted the
Dry run for COVID Vaccination today at three identified Session Sites at GMSH
16, CH 22 and CH Manimajra. The arrangements at the Sites were made as
per the GOI protocols. The dry run was being undertaken to anticipate
any issues/ bottleneck / challenges in regards to COVID 19 Vaccination The
entire exercise helps the Vaccination Teams to use CoWIN app, planning
vaccination session , sending messages to beneficiaries regarding
scheduled vaccination, The arrangements at the Sites were made as per
the GOI protocols wherein the three room protocol, signages, Data entry
provision, observation room and provision for managing cases of Adverse Event
Following Immunization were also made. It was ensured by the Health
Department that all the members of Vaccination Teams are sensitised, trained
and provided the logistics while following the guidelines of GOI.The time slot
was 10am to 12pm for 25 beneficiaries at each site wherein the beneficiaries
reached in time, were verified to make an entry in CoWIN platform, mock
vaccination done, validation of completed vaccination done on cowin digital
portal ,confirmation message for Vaccination successfully generated and
received by facility incharge , beneficiaries made to wait under observation
for 30 mins and finally sent home after giving the number on which he/ she
could contact in case of any problem. Teams from PGIMER and GMCH 32
visited the session site at GMSH 16 for observing the dry run so that it could
be emulated at their facilities. The entire session was carried out
under the guidance and supervision of Dr Amandeep Kang, DHS UT Chandigarh with
technical support from WHO and UNDP. To discuss the details of Dry run
sessions conducted and address the issues pertaining to the drive a District
Task Force meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner U.T.
Chandigarh wherein Health Department was praised and appreciated for successful
completion of the exercise . And various stakeholders including representatives
from Medical college and PGIMER attended the same and shared their views.
