INDEPENDENCE DAY WALK BY GH-4 PU

Girls Hostel-4 (Kasturba Hall) Panjab University, Chandigarh
organized today an Independence Day Walk to commemorate the 75th Independence
Day and celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The walk began from GH-4 hostel at
7:30 am, touring through the university including its sports grounds and Gandhi
Bhawan. During the walk the participants raised slogans of Jai Hind and Bharat
Mata Ki Jai in the spirit of the event and sang various patriotic songs. Warden,
Dr. Tammanna Sahrawat apprised the participants that ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’
is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75
years of independence of progressive India and the glorious history of its
people, culture and achievements. It was inaugurated by Prime Minister, Shri
Narendra Modi, by flagging off ‘Dandi March’ from Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad
on 12th March, 2021 and will end on 15th August, 2023. The event ended with singing of National
anthem.
