Pujan to start construction of 209 Bus Queue Shelters spread all over the city
was performed by Sh. Dharam Pal, Adviser to the Administrator Chandigarh in the
presence of Secretary Engineering, Chief Engineer, Chief Architect and other
Officers of the Chandigarh Administration. These new Bus Queue Shelters are
designed to have more sustainability and durability along with maintaining the
Heritage character of the city. They are to be constructed along various roads
in Sectors, Villages and Colonies within Chandigarh. These Bus Queue Shelters
will be user friendly and also designed for differently abled persons having
provision of tactile flooring & sitting space and to have provision for
good lighting for its illumination during night time. They shall also be
equipped with Real Time Bus Information System which shall be installed by the
Transport Department of the Chandigarh Administration for the benefit of
commuters regarding city bus services. With the construction of these new Bus
Queue Shelters, the long pending demand of the citizens of the city beautiful
shall be fulfilled. The Bus Queue Shelters are likely to be completed within
time period of one year.
