INAUGURATION OF RIDING SCHOOL AND POLICE SUBSIDIARY CANTEEN

Today,
Sh. Praveer Ranjan IPS, DGP/UT, Chandigarh has inaugurated Riding School/Club
and upgraded Chandigarh Police Subsidiary Canteen (a unit of Kendriya Police
Kalyan Bhandar) at Police Lines, Sector-26, Chandigarh. During the occasion Sh.
Omvir Singh Bishnoi, IPS, IGP/UT, Sh. Kuldeep Singh Chahal, IPS, SSP/UT, Ms.
Manisha Chaudhary, IPS, SSP/Traffic & Sec., Sh. Manoj Kumar, IPS, SP/Hqrs
and other senior officers of Chandigarh Police were present. The riding school at
Police lines is now equipped with new wings, jump and other infrastructures
along with more wide area. The police wards and anyone apart from the police having age above 10
years can become the member of this club and seek coaching of horse riding. The
police department will depute expert in this club to impart coaching for horse
riding. The monthly packages and subscription facility will be provided at
nominal charges. The police canteen has been giving facility of buying
daily use grocery items, electronic items and other available items on
concessional/subsidiary rates to the police force. Recently, DGP/UT has inspected
the Chandigarh Police canteen and necessary directions to the concerned
officials to raise infrastructure and overall improvement of Police Canteen was
given. The area of canteen now has been raised and new grocery & other items
have been included in police canteen. The police officials & their family
members would be benefitted to buy maximum necessary items at one place.

सोसाइटी द नैरेटर्स की संस्थापक निशा लूथरा ने अपना पहला काव्य संकलन-’उन्स’
जारी किया है। विश्व प्रसिद्ध रॉक गार्डन में ’परफॉर्मड पोएट्री’ प्रस्तुति के माध्यम से ’उन्स’ का औपचारिक और बहुत ही अनोखे ढंग से अनावरण
किया गया । इस दौरान उनकी कविताओं पर आधारित काव्यात्मक मंच प्रस्तुतियों को
दिखाया गया। लाइव तबला और वायलिन की संगत में शहर की समकालीन नृत्य कलाकार पुनीत
जेवंडा और भरतनाट्यम के जाने माने कलाकार वरुण खन्ना द्वारा 'कविता प्रस्तुति' के हिस्से के रूप में एक संगीत और
नृत्य गायन का प्रदर्शन किया गया। यह प्रदर्शन ’उन्स’
में शामिल कविताओं पर आधारित था और इसकी कल्पना और निर्देशन खुद
लेखिका निशा लूथरा ने की । इस मौके पर निशा लूथरा ने कहा कि “मेरी किताब मानवीय भावनाओं के बहुमुखी पहलुओं को दर्शाती एक भावनात्मक और
काव्यात्मक प्रस्तुति है। परफॉर्म्ड पोएट्री ’उन्स’ के थीम के लिए एक उपयुक्त श्रद्धांजलि थी। मुझे खुशी है कि मेरे काव्य
संग्रह की कविताओं की पंक्तियों पर आधारित एक अभिव्यक्ति पूर्ण नृत्य प्रदर्शन ने
पूरे विमोचन कार्यक्रम को एक अलग ही अर्थ प्रदान किया। ये एक अलौकिक अनुभव साबित
हुआ।" निशा लूथरा, इस
क्षेत्र में परफॉर्मड पोएट्री यानी ’काव्य प्रदर्शन’
की कला में अग्रणी भी हैं। अभिनेत्री, निर्देशक और थिएटर कोच जूही बब्बर सोनी,
जो प्रसिद्ध अभिनेता राज बब्बर की बेटी हैं, सुरजीत
पातर, प्रसिद्ध पंजाबी कवि और पंजाब कला परिषद के अध्यक्ष,
और डॉ. सुमिता मिश्रा, अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव,
हरियाणा सरकार ने औपचारिक रूप से पुस्तक का अनावरण किया। इस अवसर पर
क्षेत्र की जानी-मानी कलाकार रानी बलबीर कौर और प्रसिद्ध पंजाबी लोक गायिका डॉली
गुलेरिया भी विशिष्ट अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित थीं। जूही ने कहा कि “’उन्स’ एक उत्कृष्ट कृति है। यह मानवीय भावनाओं और
संबंधों के कई पहलुओं में गहराई से उतरती है। एक-एक शब्द सीधे कवि के हृदय से
निकलता है। मैं निशा को बधाई देती हूं कि उन्होंने हमें साहित्यिक रचनात्मकता की
एक महान कृति ’उन्स’ दी है। पातर ने
कहा कि ’उन्स’ निशा लूथरा में एक
अद्भुत ’रचनात्मक साहित्यकार’ को
स्पष्ट रूप से सामने लाती है। चंडीगढ़ लिटरेरी सोसाइटी की चेयरपर्सन डॉ. सुमिता
मिश्रा के अनुसार, ’उन्स’ मानवीय
भावनाओं को विच्छेदित करने के बारे में है। इस अवसर पर दर्शकों को तीन-तीन मिनट की
और ’उन्स’ की कविताओं पर आधारित दो
काव्य फिल्में भी दिखाई गईं। इन फिल्मों को जयपुर लिटरेचर फेस्टिवल (जेएलएफ) में
दर्शकों के देखने के लिए चुना गया है। इनका निर्देशन निशा लूथरा ने किया है। द
नैरेटर्स के वाइस प्रेसिडेंट दीपक लूथरा ने स्वागत संबोधन करते हुए कहा कि उन्स
में निशा ने अपने मन के भावों को अभिव्यक्त किया है।

35th Sub Junior Boys and 16th Sub Junior Girls, Chandigarh State Boxing Championship from 12.03.2022 to 13.03.2022. Students of PML S D Public School, Sector 32C, Chd. participated in Chandigarh State Boxing Championship from 12.03.2022 to 13.03.2022 in K. K. Sharma Boxing Ring, Chd. keeping up the legacy of winning the Championship our students won the Overall Championship Trophy. The show stealer, this year was the girls of PML S D Public School displaying a great show of strength. Nidhi, Aaditi Sharma, Krishan Priya and Harsh bagged Gold Medal. Aakshi Saini, Tanu, Namrata and Akshit bagged Silver and Anshul Khasa Bronze Medal in the Championship. All Over Best Boxer Trophy has been bagged by Nidhi and Mayank on the other hand received Over All Best Challenger’s Tag.

Dr
Rajesh Kochhar passed away on 13th March after a brief
illness. Professor
Kochhar had been a Jawaharlal Fellow, a Fulbright Visiting Lecturer, a Visiting
Scholar at University of Cambridge Department of History and Philosophy of
Science; and honorary professor of History of Science and Technology at
National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore. He was the recipient of
National Academy of Sciences India’s Professor R.C. Gupta Endowment History of
Science Lecture Award and Indian National Science Academy’s 2014 Indira Gandhi
Prize for Popularization of Science. Professor
Rajesh Kochhar was an Honorary Professor, Panjab University Mathematics
Department and Co-Convenor of the Panjab University Ruchi Ram Sahni 150th Birth
Anniversary Celebrations Committee. He obtained
his M.Sc. Honour School in Physics in 1967 and PhD. in 1973, both from
Panjab University, Chandigarh, where he began his career as a lecturer. He was
a Professor at Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore, in 1999, when he moved
over to New Delhi to take charge as Director NISTADS: National Institute of
Science, Technology and Development Studies, New Delhi (CSIR). He had
also been a Professor of Pharmaceutical Heritage in NIPER: National Institute
of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (Government of India), Mohali. Professor Kochhar published original research
in a number of fields: history and sociology of science & technology;
science and education policy; ancient Indian history; and modern astronomy and astrophysics. He authored a number of books, saliently, The Vedic People ( Orient Black Swan), English Education in India, 1715-1835
(Routledge),and Sanskrit & British Empire ( Routledge). His views had
been sought and published by magazines like Science and Nature as also by BBC
Radio. He had lectured extensively
in India and abroad including Harvard, Cornell, University of Texas at Austin,
Belfast, Brighton, Royal Dublin Society, Tubingen, Copenhagen University and
National Museum Copenhagen. He delivered a number of commemorative
lectures including the 67th J.C. Bose Memorial Lecture at Bose Institute
Kolkata and Akshoy Datta Memorial Lecture at Indian Association for the
Cultivation of Science, Kolkata. He also contributed articles in The Hindu, The
Tribune, Indian Express, Times of India and other newspapers over the years.

The Chandigarh Administration has accorded administrative approval for the construction of multi level parking between Chandigarh Judicial Academy and New District Court Complex Sector 43. This proposed parking will accommodate about 2000 cars and will be used by the public as well as the advocates. An estimated budget of Rs.81 crores has been sanctioned to the Engineering Department for the construction of multi level parking. It will take two years to complete the construction of the said multi level parking. The Home Secretary, Chandigarh and the District & Sessions Judge has also carried out an inspection of the proposed site in Sector 43.

police has achieved a major success in arresting of a two wheeler thief and
recovered 9 two wheelers from him. For this under the supervision of SDPO South
a team of Police station 34 on 4.3.22 acting on an information had arrested an
accused namely Jagtar Singh @ Taru S/o Lt. Sh. Kaka Singh R/o Village
Gobindgarh, PS – Sohana, Distt Mohali PB age 27 years while driving a stolen
motorcycle with fake number plate on it. He was produced in court and during
his 3 days police remand 8 more two wheelers ( 4 Activas and 4 Motorcycles)
have been recovered on his disclosure. These were stolen by him from different
places of Chandigarh and Mohali. He is an drug addict. All the recovered
vehicles were parked without number plates at different parking areas and at his
house also. Today he has been sent to judicial custody.
