Kirron Kher felicitates young achieve Student

In a first of its kind initiative by Government Houses Resident Welfare Society, Sector 22 (GH22-RWS) Chandigarh honoured Class X and XII  young achievers for academic excellence in 2018 Board results. Over 51 achievers received mementos and certificates from the Chief Guest Mrs. Kirron Kher, Member of Parliament in a glittering felicitation ceremony held at Community Centre Sector 22 today, informed Sushil Malhotra, General Secretary of the society.

     “Achievers from all across the tricity who studied in any school of sector 22 and secured above 90% in XII and 95% in X Board Exams 2018 have been selected for bestowing awards”, informed Vinod Vashisht, President of the GHRWS-22. In his address. Vashisht suggested achievers to make judicious use of internet and mobile phones.
   Ravi Kant Sharma, Area Councillor complimented the efforts put in by the orgainsing team of the RWS in initiating the honouring of meritorious students of the area. Appreciating the efforts of GH22-RWS organizing such function Mrs Kirron Kher said along with academics extra-curricular activities should also be given due place to ensure holistic development of personality.
Also present on the occasion were City Mayor Shri Davesh Moudgil, Area Councillor Shri Ravi Kant Sharma, Deputy Director School Education Mrs Saroj Mittal. Principals and teachers of Government Model Senior Secondary School Sector 22A, Government Model High School Sector 22C, MDAV School Sector 22A and Shishu Niketan Senior Secondary School Sector 22D and parents of the meritorious students.
Shri SS Kaushal and Veena Sharma parents of Martyr Captain R“Honouring of meritorious achievers is a great boost to the parents and students who work hard to ensure achieving academic excellence”, said Principal Rajeev Kumar of GMSSS Sector 22A.
     Rohit Kaushal who attained martyrdom in 1995, fighting militants in J&K, sponsored the mementos and certificates for achievers. Kaushals have been residing in Government accommodation in Sector 22D for over 20 years. Dr Anil Gugnani, Senior Vice President of the society proposed vote of thanks.
