Meeting of JAC comprising 14 different Associations, The future of 9 lac students & 1600 Colleges of Punjab at stake

   meeting of Joint Action Committee (JAC) comprising 14 different Associations (representing over 1600 Unaided Colleges of Punjab) was held today. The 14 member committee decided not to repay loans to the banks till the Government does not disburse the funds of Post Matric Scholarship amounting Rs 1600 Crore of Punjab Unaided Colleges. The members of JAC have already decided to charge fees from the SC students as per the Notification of Centre Government of April, 2018.  JAC would also raise this issue in the meeting to be held on 21st June with Captain Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister of Punjab as the recent notification would affect over 9 lac SC students and 1500-1600 Colleges of Punjab. S. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, Academic Advisory Forum requested Centre & State Government to release the PMS Funds at the earliest as the situation is getting grim day by day for the students, parents & the Colleges in Punjab. JAC thanked CM Punjab for raising this issue with Centre Govt. JAC also requested CM to solve this matter in 21st June meeting to save the dying Unaided Colleges.
