International Neuroscience School Kicked off at UIPS, Panjab University

IBRO/APRC Chandigarh Neuroscience School, a very First International Event to celebrate Platinum Jubilee Year of University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, fully funded by International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) was inaugurated by Professor Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE), New Delhi at Panjab University, Chandigarh. Professor Anil D Sahasrabudhe, stressed on fostering Quality Education and Research in Indian institutions and urged to sensitize young generation with strong ethics in both personal and professional life. He explained the neuroscience in very unique and innovative manner. Dr Sahasrabudhe released a logo specifically designed to commemorate Platinum Jubilee celebrations of UIPS and an abstract book of IBRO School was also release by the dignitaries. Dr Fusao Kato, Japan and Dr Anthony J. Hannan, Australia will be the “Guests of Honor”. The School is organized under the esteemed patronage of Professor S K Kulkarni, Former DUI, Panjab University, Professor Karamjeet Singh, Registrar, Professor Kanwaljit Chopra, Chairperson, UIPS and Professor Anil Kumar, UIPS, Panjab University,Chandigarh. Organizing Secretary, Dr Anurag Kuhad, Program Coordinator DST Inspire & Assistant Professor of Pharmacology, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences informed that out of 150 applications from Asia-Pacific region, we have selected eighty five participants (ten International participants from five countries and sixty five National participants from fourteen states and Union territories of India) including Master’s, PhDs, Post-Doc and few faculty members to attend and present their research work at this international neuroscience venture. This School will provide an excellent platform to facilitate scientific interactions among International as well National junior and senior neuroscientists and will foster future neuroscience research collaborations. Dr Ashwani Kumar, Dr Neelima Dhingra, Dr Jai Malik and Dr Sangeeta P Sah organized various activities during the school. Professor V R Sinha, Professor O P Katare, Professor B S Bhoop, Professor Indu Pal Kaur, Professor Ranju Bansal, Professor Poonam Piplani, Dr Vandita Kakkar and Dr Amita Sarwal were present during the function.IBRO School is funded by IBRO finance committee, USA. In addition, IBRO/APRC Chandigarh Neuroscience School received whole hearted appreciation and financial support from Panjab University, Medical Council of India (MCI), Council for Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) and National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), New Delhi.
