NT24 News : PLKA organized a drawing and Painting workshop at Ramgarhia

PLKA organized a drawing and Painting workshop at Ramgarhia Girls College Ludhiana.

Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi organized a drawing and Painting workshop by eminent artist Jaspal.S at Ramgarhia Girls College Ludhiana. Through audio visual aids Jaspal. S showed his artistic journey to approximately 70 students and teachers. After that about fifty students participated in acrylic painting workshop. The eminent artists were given a cordial welcome by Principal Dr. Inderjit Kaur, S. Ranjodh Singh, President Ramgarhia Education Council accompanied by the faculty of Fine Arts department. Taking his mission forward to make art accessible and affordable to each and every art lover, students were given a complete overview of  basics of art by honourable Diwan Manna. The main aim of the workshop was to apprise the students about the scope and strengths of Fine Art. Principal Dr. Inderjit Kaur and S. Ranjodh Singh emphasized upon the significance of such workshops and interactions. Ranjodh Singh also thanked the Akademi for organizing this workshop in their institution. Along with this he highlighted the importance of art in life. Diwan Manna thanked Inderjit kaur kalsi and Sr. Ranjodh Singh for opening the doors of art for the Akademi to reach out to youngsters. He also said that Principal not only opened the doors of the college for his own students but the students of other school as well. After this Jaspal .S demonstrated how to draw with Charcoal as well as acrylic painting. After this the artist taught the students about the nuances of drawing and painting. In this way the students got an opportunity to get acquainted with the artist and his artistic practice. During this  workshop Prof.Tajinder Kaur, Professor of English and HOD focused the importance of art among students and also conducted the proceedings. Dr. Tarvinder, HOD Fine Arts department proposed a formal vote of thanks. Diwan Manna specially thanked the administration of the college, Principal Dr. Kalsi and other staff members along with students for being part of the workshop.
     Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi is making constant efforts to initiate art activity  among youngsters in educational institutions. Therefore, the academy has started a series called 'Adharshila'. The information about subtle aspects of art is being given to the students through these workshops by renowned artists along with audio visual presentations in schools and colleges of small towns and villages in various districts of Punjab.
