In continuation of a special drive against
consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried
out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 18 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab
Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of
Chandigarh in which total
18 persons were
arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The
detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007
& 510 got registered:- PS-3 = 2 cases, PS-17= 2 cases, PS-19= 3 cases
PS-26= 3 cases, PS-Ind. Area= 1 case, PS-MM= 2 cases, PS-34= 2 cases, PS-39= 3
cases. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is
requested for not breaking the law. Accident A case FIR No. 19, U/S 279, 337 IPC has
been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sahil Soni R/o #
1021, Sector-39/B, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of unknown vehicle sped
away after hitting to Complainant (Pedestrian) near park, Sector-38 West,
Chandigarh on 31.01.2019. Complainant got injured and admitted to PGI,
Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress. MV Theft Harish Kumar R/o # 370,
Sector-45/A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Suzuki
Access Scooter No. CH-01BN-3845 from parking of KVDAV School, Sector-7,
Chandigarh on 07.02.2019. A case FIR No. 28, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in
PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress. Gurjit Singh R/o #
6655, Village-Madanpur, Distt.-Mohali, Punjab reported that unknown person
stolen away complainant’s motor cycle No. PB-65AL-7985 while parked
near park, Sector-56, Chandigarh on 06.02.2019. A case FIR No. 43, U/S 379 IPC
has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in
progress. 02
juveniles apprehended for Snatching Rajesh R/o # 3519, Mouli Complex,
Chandigarh reported that 03 unknown persons snatched
away complainant’s mobile phone and purse from backside Railway Colony,
Village-Mouli Jagran, Chandigarh on 09.02.2019. A case FIR No. 30,
U/S 341, 356, 379, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Mouli Jagran,
Chandigarh. Later on 02 juveniles aged 14 yrs and 16 yrs have been
apprehended in this case. Both were sent to Juvenile Home, Sector-25, Chandigarh.
Investigation of the case is in progress. Criminal Intimidation A case FIR No.14 U/s 507
& 67 IT Act has been registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh on the
complaint of a lady R/o Manimajra, Chandigarh against Ram Avtar R/o
Village-Nava Nagar, Distt.-Panchkula, Haryana who harassed and threatened
complainant by sending messages on e-mail and social media. Investigation of
the case is in progress.
