GGDSD COLLEGE, KHERI GURNA (BANUR) HELD ITS FIRST CONVOCATION

The Chief Guest on this historic
occasion was Sh. J.K. Khaitan, an eminent industrialist and chairman of Kuantum
Papers Ltd., Chandigarh, who delivered the convocation address. Mr. Khaitan is
the recipient of Udyog Ratna and has been associated with the Chamber of Commerce
and Industry since long. He is also actively associated with social work and is
Paul Harris Fellow Rotary International. While addressing the young graduates,
Mr. Khaitan with his inspirational words exhorted them to work with passion and
zeal . He emphasised that hard work and perseverance along with integrity of
character, highest moral & ethical values could lead them to the
pinnacles of glory. Earlier the Chief Guest was welcomed by Sh. Upkar Krishan
Sharma ji, President of the GGDSD College Society, who described Mr. Khaitan as
a living example of a very successful entrepreneur. He expressed the hope that
both the students and teachers could draw unending inspiration from him. Dr.
Sunil K. Baria, Principal of the college read out the annual report of the
college on this occasion and elaborated the achievements of the college
including that the college bagged the 1 st , 2 nd & 8 th position in B.Com.
Hons. 3 rd Semester, 2 nd position in BA 2 nd Semester and 12 th position in
M.Com. 2 nd Semester in the university examination, and also the accolades won
in extracurricular activities and sports. Sh. Jatinder Bhatia, Finance
Secretary, Gen. A.K. Shori, Chairman, College Governing Body, Dr. S.K. Chadha,
Dr. Gurmeet Singh, Sh. Hira Mani and other eminent personalities also graced
the occasion with their presence. General A.K. Shori, Chairman of the college
Governing Body proposed the vote of thanks.
